  1. Wow! Sounds like you really lucked up! My husband and I are still bigger fans of the vintage figures. I paid $15 for a Sgt. Slaughter baton a few weeks ago on Ebay. If you come across the vintage Snow Serpent accessories, keep me in mind. I bought one that just had a backpack and one snow shoe. The figure is mint as can be, but I need to rest of his stuff.

Wow, $15 for a Slaughter baton? That's sucks. I mean, I know it's probably worth that, but I've gotten more frugal (read 'tight-assed'/'cheap', or however you want to put it) since the whole economic downturn.

I know what you mean about Snow-Serps. I've cobbled together about 8 or 9 of them, but only 1 is complete. Snowshoes are the HTF bits with those, as well as unbroken parachutes.

(I'll keep you guys in mind, though :) )

Man, I'm in need of the Python Patrol Dragonuv riffle if you don't need it :)

Sorry, Bro. Dragonuvs are something I can never find enough of. Still have 23 Blueshirts and 3 PP Officers that need them. Snow-Serps I'm gonna quit when I can complete 10 (not as easy as it sounds. I have trouble find any that are worth a damn, condition-wise {loose, yellowed, broken thumbs/crotches, etc.})

Might just surrender my one good one and donate it to Aire's display! :D (J/K. Honestly, none of us will ever catch up to this dear lady! {unless Trump ever decides he wants to collect G.I. Joes...})

  2. Grabbed the Royal Astromechs (battle pack and single-carded) at Walmart. Saw the Pod Racer packs and passed. Not buying figures I already have just for little flags (Might grab those cheaper on the secondary-market eventually)

Lucked out at the flea market again: Got a carded Black stormtrooper (with black coin, too!) and a carded Eps. I "Battle Padme" for $4 each. Not too shabby, I'm really stoked about the Padme, though.

The same lady also had loose General Weir, Darth Talon, and the Bogie Squad duo from the Comic Packs mixed in her loose/bagged bin for $3ea or $5 for 2, and all of these were complete!

6 great figures for less than $20. Days like this give me hope! :)

  4. My buddy James knows a guy who owns a comic shop. He let me look through his loose vintage Joe stuff and this is what I found:

    3 CG rifles

    2 EELS V1 spearguns

    Hydro-Viper speargun

    Shipwreck pistol and hook thing

    2 Zartan V1 pistols

Storm Shadow V1 shortsword and UNBROKEN bow!

    Snake-Eyes V2 sword!

Heavy Metal pistol, completely unbroken (strap is perfect!)

Sky Patrol Airwave rifle, completely unbroken

    Cobra Dragonuv rifle

    Python Officer/Dragonuv rifle

    Python Soldier rifle

    Serpentor dagger

    Ice-Viper dagger

    Sgt Slaughter baton

    Silver Interrogator rifle (Street Fighter)

    Quick-Kick nunchucks and 2 swords

Grey Ripcord rifle from Tactical Battle Platform

Cobra Rifle Range blue Grunt and Airborne rifles

    Mutt V1 MAC-11

    Outback rifle, unbroken strap/perfect!

    Snake-Eyes V3 blowgun

    Frostbite rifle

    Fridge football stick/mace/club thing

Silver Sgt Savage .30 cal Browning (perfect Kwinn weapon)

Cutter V3 rifle (black Barricade gun)

Also found a vintage SW Han Solo gun, a vintage Indiana Jones Cairo Swordsman scimitar, and 4 swords from Dragonriders of the Styx (2 scimitars, 2 Kris blades)

All this cost me a grand total of: 12 bucks. I was stoked to say the least. (Some of us still like vintage stuff! ;) )

  5. I got lucky as hell a couple of weeks ago at the Sanford Flea-World. A guy there had loose ARAH mold Joes for $2 a piece, and found a couple of real gems: a mint Aero-Viper WITH the helmet, and a frikking near-mint NIGHT FORCE SHOCKWAVE!

No accs for the Shockwave except the machine gun, but I could care less!

Stoked to finally have one after 15 years!

  6. Stoked to have finally ran across a couple of vintage Fleet Troopers and a Ponda Baba. Found Bastila Shan and CW Even Piell, too. Figures they'd be at the Wally-World I don't normally frequent.

No sign of Fordo, Evazan, or Echo trooper, though. Still looking.

  7. Found dupes of the vintage Endor soldier and Senate Guard at K-mart again (and an exclusive Iron Man 2 set I didn't know existed)

At Walmart I found a Nikto Jedi. Not too shabby.

    Thnaks again, Georgia! :)

  8. Devil Bat,

I went through this myself about 10 tens ago, when I was still active duty and this was just after the 9/11 attacks.

I actually posted something similar on the Rebelscum boards when I was there (I think I titled the thread "Should I grow up?" :D ), and I got a lot of the same support everyone's offering here. I have chalked up my own collecting habits to nostalgia, kind of a 'look-back' at a simpler time in my life. This is the hobby I've chosen, and I'm content to continue doing it. This is a practice that somewhat centers you, gives you joy and pretty much harms no-one else. I pretty much dismiss anyone who judges me negatively for my hobbies. Let them take thier baggage somewhere else. ;)

Suffer no guilt and enjoy yourself, dude. :)

  9. Doing my annual reserves drill in King's Bay, GA right now and it figures I'd have to leave the state to find stuff I missed the first time around.

Picked Vintage Mace, Kit, Peasant Padme and Peasant Anakin from K-Mart. Very cool. B)

Next Day, found a DS Luke and another R5-D4 at Wally-World. ^_^

    (Non-SW, but found the Loki-Frost Giant Marvel U 2-pack at $17.00 even, only one I've ever seen! :o )

    Thank You, Georgia! :D

  10. When it comes to E-bay I always let it ride no matter what price someone is offering. Which, by the way, they are only doing because they are trying to low-ball you with a price high enough to seem profitable, but low enough to make a profit by buying the lot and breaking it up and reselling the pieces individually.

Exactamundo! And these guys agree with me. Don't undersell yourself, or your stuff!

  11. They need to do a Gladiator figure. Would love to have that figure.

They've made the Sh'iar Gladiator already. Do you mean him or the Daredevil villian with the sawblades on his arms?

  12. wow, very interesting stuff. I had no idea my favorite author wrote any star wars books... that's sad. I really only knew 2 of the 10, and I thought i was a decent Star Wars fan.

Yeah, I thought I was more knowledgeable, too. I only knew 4, 5, and 6. I imagine I should've known 10, since Lucas would've HAD to sign off on that one.

  13. Bumping this one up

    Have:

    --------------

    L8-L9(red) - body

    Dark Trooper - body

    U-3PO - right leg

    5D6-RA-7(blk-grey) - body x 2

    HK-50 - left arm (regular)

    R4-P44 - body

    Wanting:

    --------------

    BG-J38) - left leg

    YVH-1 - both legs

HK-47 - everything but left arm (I know, but I dream, right?)

  14. It's not ESB (and I don't really care), but my go-to Yoda is the Yoda with Kybuk from Series 5 of the 30th Anni Collection.

    http://www.rebelscum.com/TAC32yodakybuck.asp

How could you not love this guy? A big honkin' beast to ride into battle, removable hooded robe, removable lightsaber bandolier, and cute little lightsaber.

Plus, it was based off Gendy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars 'toon, which was the coolest thing to happen to Star Wars since Lucas invented Star Wars.

I'm with you here. I like the repaint of this one from the Geonosis 2-pack. This one is my de-facto Yoda.

(I think it surpasses the current 'Vintage' Yoda, but maybe that's just me.)

  15. ......Any help with the Rebel Fleet Trooper is needed.

    Feeling you there.

Found a General Lando and another Senate Guard this weekend. Still no DS Luke or RT Driver though.

Has the Rebel Trooper wave hit yet? (and does anyone know if they're still releasing that 'Target Wedge' in Vintage?)

  16. SWEET!! Who's the Jedi with her own version of Darth Mauls Light saber?

Seeing this and the new video game of Vaders Apprentiss wish that Lucas would make these into CGI movies

Don't know her name, but she's on my list of wants, and not just figures! ;) (So it wasn't God, but some CGI artist finally gave me a hybrid of Krista Allen and Melinda Clarke rolled into one! )

Thanks for the other clip, Leviathan, That was sweet, too! I want that female Mando along with "Our Lady of the blue double-blade" ^_^ and Havoc Squad Leader. I'll take another bunch of clone rehashes if they're equipped and deco'd like that! (they'd better do him right, though!)

Seriously, if that Jedi character had only one live-action model, I'm gonna need to start saving up for a diamond! :P

  17. Just thought I'd share this video. I watched this and thought it was awesome (hope I get the 'imbed' right):

    <center><object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="

    ?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="
    ?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object></center>

I saw quite a few characters I wouldn't mind having figures of, including a couple who look modeled after Malak and Revan. If so, I'd actually want a figure of that 'Malak'-looking guy).

    Anyone familiar with this one?

  18. Hard to say, because size comps in comics are so subjective nowadays.

My guess is that the BAF is too large for the MU figures, and was always intended to be in scale with ML. The head of MODOK was always supposed to be much larger than a normal human, but the limbs are supposed to be more or less in scale because they are more or less almost vestigial in nature.

I'd have to agree with ARROW here that it's a little large for the MU figures, but I'd say the compatibility is still there if you're not too hung up on the scale accuracy. As he's basically a giant floating head anyway, what could it hurt? ;)

  19. Can't think of everything at the moment, but here's a few wants and haves:

    Wanting:

    SW:

    -------------

Droid Factory K-3PX (would prefer to have loose)

Teek and Kiank from Stars Tours set (would prefer to have loose)

    Joes:

    ------------

Convention Red Shadows, as many as you've got ;)

Montezuma's skeleton from DVD pack, complete (sword, crown, everything)

    Haves:

    SW Carded:

    -------------

    MOC Darth Revan

    MOC Darth Malak

    MOC McQ Boba Fett

MOC TMP TC-14 (card is not perfect)

    SW loose/complete:

    ------------

Loose Darth Krayt, complete (has helmet and both sabres)

    Loose Darth Talon, complete

Got lots of loose/complete (ask and I probably have it!)

    Joes Carded:

    -------------

    1991 Overkill

    93/94 Street Fighter Ryu

    Joes loose/complete:

    ------------

    HOH Shipwreck

    HOH Hawk

    HOH Flint

    HOH Viper (chromed faceplate)

    HOH Zartan

Target HISS Driver (grey shirt/camo pants)

Got lots of loose/complete ARAH/rivet mold figures, plus some others (ask and I probably have it!)

Got lots of random oddball stuff as well. I just might have something you've been wanting, who knows? Never hurts to ask. ;)

    Thanks for looking! :)

  20. Grabbed a few things this past weekend. Picked up Vintage Sidious, Anakin, Clonetrooper, General Grievious, Bespin Luke, Hoth Leia, and a Legends Battle Droids 2 pack.

Pretty decent haul for me, as I usually don't buy this many things at once (but hey, grab 'em when you can, right?:)).
