Wow, this thread really hits home for a lot of us. This is something I've really been agonizing on this year. Some things went south in my life and I sold probably 90-95% of my collection (everything, not just Joes) for basically a pittance because it was necessary at the time, but not without a lot of regrets that have stuck with me. (I won't list the things I let go off, the list itself would have people questioning my sanity and would need its own thread) I kept most of what I considered the "gems" in my collection (along with some other stuff I just like as "toy knick-knacks" for lack of a better term, for sentimental reasons), and I still pick up a few things here and there when finances permit. But I know what you mean; it's kind of a "the thrill is gone" kinda feeling. I'm still gonna hang in there, though P.S.: Crimson Twins: be careful letting your CG's go. The first "batch" of things I let go included my vintage blueshirts, but that case of Cobras was one of my biggest regrets. What I received cash-wise didn't cover a third of what those alone were worth. I didn't have 250, but I had 85 of them, all swivel-arms and complete with rifles, and I miss them!

Liking the Vizam and Darth Plagueis. -
I think it depends on which characters are made. Now the primary characters, no question, they can't be the simplified ones. Some characters just demand that kind of articulation; Jedi, clones/stormtroopers, etc. If we were to say that we were going back to the POTJ era, that might be acceptable, as long as the mold quality is as good as that, but less of the static action poses. Something more along the lines of a "ready" pose vice a generic "standing at attention" pose. Just my 2 cents.

Cool! Definitely getting this. Hope the new Pablo Jill shows up soon, too! -
Man, if they start doing the Serpent Society, this would get me back in Marvel Legends!

I know the LEGO versions are very popular but being in my 40's, I'm kinda beyond Legos, but I've seen all these decal sheets they make for the Lego ones and I'd like to apply a couple of the designs to the AOTC/Saga gunships that I have. Has anyone else tried this yet?

I was about 7 years old when I first saw the commercial trailer where Luke is in the gunner seat yelling "They're coming in too fast!", and remembering somewhere in my 7-year-old mindset that "Wow, stuff coming at you fast means ACTION!" I remember C3PO and R2-D2 being my first figures but I think I actually got them before I ever saw the movie.

K-Mart Exclusive Vintage Collection Ewok Assault Catapult

Sweet! I'll be grabbing this. -
I had a special love for those titles too. I liked how they treated some peoples powers as true handicaps as some came with severe deformities. I think that nuance carried over into the post-Image era of comics, and I dont think the New U gets the credit it deserves for that or its other contributions to what came to the comicbook world later. Some of my favorites were DP7 and Justice, too. Characters I liked were Justice, Antibody, Mastadon, Glitter, Mutator, Rodstvow, and Pitbull. Skybreaker, too. I even made a custom figure of him.

Been looking around TRU for this for a couple of weeks thinking its about due. Anyone know when these will start shipping?

Picked up 3 more Droid Factory 2-packs this weekend. Found the blue R9 head this time around.

Found 2 more each of the MonCal pilot, Rebel Fleet Troopers, and even 3 more Republic Troopers. Also found a couple of the Rebel Transport/Ground technician sets. Also got a MTT from a bud for way under retail ($125.00 boxed). Picked up a few other things, but those are the highlights.

I guess it's just me, then. I'm still getting a 404 error, on 2 different devices.

Outstanding! @yipee@

I hope it's O.K. to mention this here. I tend to really rely on that data.

Though I've liquidated most of my collection for now (and still getting rid of a few other things on the side), one of the gems (to me) I'm keeping is my Space Ghost figures. I have the villain Space Spectre (Space Ghost's mirror image) and he has a light-up fist feature that the battery is now dead. Here's an online pic I found: I imagine the fist is removable somehow since the elbow bends, but I'm afraid of breaking it. Does anyone know a 'soft' way to get the fist off and change the battery without damaging the figure?

Captain America's "Man Without A Country" story with the Serpent Society might be a good one. Not sure if it was ever collected into a trade, though. If I can make a dark horse suggestion (not the company, just the colloquialism), take a look at the "Agents of Atlas" trade paperback. I found it to be a very enjoyable read. It also included a few design/production notes, some in-continuity gags, and including reprints of the first appearances of all the characters concerned from throughout Marvel's history (Atlas/Timely, et al), including the first appearance of the team in an issue of "What If?" that inspired the series. I liked it, anyway.

I thought this was curious: http://www.ebay.com/itm/GI-Joe-Convention-2013-Night-Force-Crimson-ASP-New-Character-/200895390932?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item2ec64c64d4 Is it just just me, or does this character have more than a passing resemblance to "Molotov C*cktease" from "The Venture Brothers"?

Lately I've noticed some Ebay auctions on AF stuff looking very reasonable, prices I have to say I would've liked back during my 'hunting' days. Anyone else noticed this, or is it just me?
-
Seriously, no-one else has seen a piece like this?
-
Just curious whether or not there's any kind of market for non-commissioned work, since most are usually commission pieces.

Thanks for all the replies, folks. We HAD worked out the amount of the deal ahead of time, he just didn't have it on him. His whole "might be" comment was actually a joke that got past me (it happens, I'm pretty dense sometimes ) I did talk to him the other day, like I said, and he was already working on getting together a big lump sum for me, which he gave me today (totaling just about a third of the due amount, actually). All's good in the hood. Thanks for the responses, guys!
