  1. I enjoyed it.. the various art was a cool touch to start the series.. I will be interested to see where #1 goes as far as who is selected! (even though some are obvious from the cover)
  2. Heath is a great actor.. I think he will bring another level of complexity to the Joker character as he can pull off some very emotional scenes. For those that are "afraid" to see Brokeback Mountain I think you are missing out on a great story, even if you are the biggest homophobe on earth I think you're missing out on a film that truly allows you to understand what it may be like to be shunned by society. And this is coming from a VERY straight man that played college football and is very secure in his masculinity. Ledger will be great!
  3. If you buy the Jim Lee Superman statue go for the larger more expensive version.. the mini is funky looking and feels cheap! I have it and I'm really kicking myself for buying it.
  4. Does anyone have a close up of the Robin figure? There was a debate floating around here on if he would be a new sculpt or a reused mold from the previous Batman line.
  5. I have my JLA Green Latern standing next to my DC Supers and the DCD figures are taller by about an inch..maybe more they don't fit together at all.
  6. Yeah you're one of 10,000,000 that enjoyed those.. the figures were pretty lame.. even worse than the BB toys.
  7. How were they nostalgic? They looked nothing like the characters in the movie.. is that what made them nostalgic? @smilepunch@
  8. These look like expansion figures.. there were many waves of BB figs planned but some were not released.. we'll see if these see the light of day!
  9. That may just be the mock up.. but Superman has two closed fists as well.. which is pretty dumb..
  10. I would guess around $15-20.. most exlcusive figures go for that much at conventions.. sometimes even $25. The price will be at about $50 until demand has been filled by all of those over anxious to have the figure and then the price will drop.. it always happens! The CIII Vader figure was expensive and now can be bought for $30 which is only about $5 over convention price.
  11. I agree that Steel, Supergirl (is much better than Rev. 1) and Mongrul look great.. as does Mr. Freeze. The Freeze photo was released a few months ago with Azrael, Luthor, Braniac, Dark Sied ..all of whom look GREAT! I actually like the Batman from this run much better than the previous release.. he comes with quite a few batarangs and cuffs! I like the 2nd release better!
  12. I love the Huntress Figure! Looks good! By the way I picked up the Batman on the bottom picture with whatever gun that is supposed to be.. so these are out!
  13. Yeah I've found at least one from each wave.. the trick is to get to the store early, if there is a Target near you try to find out the day the release the figures and then hit the store before you head off to work.
  14. I like it! These may be my first JLU figs!
  15. I don't know what happened to the statue.. the tall version is GREAT.. the mini which I opted for and it sat on my desk for a day before being put back into the box and put away!
  16. I have the mini and save your time.. it sucks.. the photos online are MUCH better than the actual product. There is a REASON why they didn't release a photo of the statue.. the face sculpt is awful.
  17. I picked up this issue of Wolverine and the previous one.. while the story was fun I came to realize pretty quick why I stopped reading X-men comics in the late 90's.. this type of crap turns me off to comics. If one cell can regenerate a Wolverine.. then why isn't there thousands of clones running around? Essentially each cell would create a new person.. this is just bad story telling.
  18. Vader also hunted down and killed Jedi in the book below. I know it may be "cannon" or whatever geek term we want to peg it with but it's a decent book and good for a summer vacation read. 1. No but then again Anakin was pretty worse for wear when Obi-Wan left him. 2. Two ideas: After going through so much I imagine even the most wise person in the universe may want to take desperate actions and hide everyone from pain and death. Hiding the twins allowed them to be protected, it is possible that Luke was more powerful via Jedi blood testing which made him the one Obi-Wan would look over while Leia as a reserve would be best hidden in the spotlight, afterall quite a few people that are in the spotlight are often the hardest to find secrets about. 3. The idea was dumb, but it does have ties to stories such as Romeo and Juliet as well as legends from Greek and Roman times. 4. I think Yoda implied that Obi-Wan needed to learn the ways to cheating death, which is what Anakin and the Emperor were after throughout the movie. We also don't know what Yoda taught Luke over the ESB training period. It is common belief that the ESB takes place over several months, Yoda could have taught Luke a great deal over that period even if it doesn't happen ON SCREEN.
  19. That's always fun... I saw Batman Begins and Star Wars EPIII last summer, each a week early. I tend to see every movie a few days or a week early due to the fact that I work for a radio station. The trick to early screenings is to avoid the studio type people, they tend to feel like they have to be "into the film" almost in a sick way.. take for example the screening of Batman Begins. There was a trailer for the Dukes of Hazzard, the studio folks laughed a little too much and made it VERY uncomfortable to be near them!
  20. P. White was just going a mile a minute with his thoughts, he was just trying to get his point across.. figure out if Superman still stands for what he used to. I NEVER thought for a second that Superman wasn't an American hero anymore... this is a case of someone taking a 2 second line out of context.
  21. I like the way you did the tears in his suit but the blood just doesn't look right... it's too red. Good Job though!
  22. Wow these figures suck.. that thing is crap.. the old 80's Armor Lex is better looking than this POS!
  23. He probably had a good idea of what he wanted a Jedi to be but there was no way to pull off some of the Jedi abilities in 1977-1983. On the fun side I say.. EP3 Ani vs EP6 Luke... Luke didn't even truly defeat Vader in EP6.. Vader was finished off by the lightning bolts from Palpy.. I would say Anakin in EP3 with all of his anger and frustration would wipe the floor with Luke.. Luke wouldn't even have a chance. If you start throwing variables into the equation you may have a different outcome. One variable that isn't accounted for is the fact that Luke was trying to save Anakin in EP6 so he never truly tried to kill Vader. I think there are too many variables for this to be a true matchup. @smilepunch@
  24. Freaking funny... gotta love all the marketing for this movie.. my local comic store here in ATL has tons of Superman Returns standups in the front window.. is really 6 days away!?!?!
  25. I didn't see the Darkseid figure yesterday but I did see Batman, Supergirl and Superman yesterday at my local comic store and they are horrible.. they are not even on par with the mass produced DCU line. I was VERY disappointed since the story line wasn't too bad.
