  1. On the heels of their successful "Reinforcements" in-stock sale, which saw some beautiful army builder figures going on sale on Saturday (that Barbarian! ), the Four Horsemen studios felt generous and told ToyFarce about their next upcoming wave! (Really, we swear!) After several waves focused on knights, warriors, monsters, creatures, wizards and... horsemen, the next Mythic Legions wave will have a focus on the more rural side of that era. The wave, entitled "Rural Exodus", will have mostly human peasants: farmers, carpenters, shopkeepers, shoe-makers, any of the 'normal' jobs that people in a fantasy world can have! Some early info told us to expect some nice accessories, like scythes, pitchforks, and other farm equipment, and a bull with a traditional plow accessory should be the animal of that wave. Why, you ask? Well, all those nice knights, warriors, monsters, creatures, wizards and horsemen need victims, don't they? Bronze Dwarves, Goblins and Skeletons Legion builders are still available on their website! More news at 11:00... "Sir, quickly! The peasants are revolting! - I know! Badly dressed, smell awful, nightmarish dental hygiene... Really bad company all around!" (Monty Python and the Holy Grail)
  2. BREAKING NEWS FROM TOYFARCE! Last week, this week, and even actually TODAY, McFarlane Toys announced more figures for their ever-growing DC Multiverse line, and about 97% of them ended up being Batman-related: More figures for the upcoming "The Batman" movie were announced last week, a simple-yet-efficient Rebirth Batman was also announced last week, 2 different Batman (!) from the Future State comic book event were announced this week, and a Target Exclusive (argh!) Batman of Zur-En-Arrh was even announced as we were preparing this article. Talk about fate! ToyFarce received an exclusive anonymous tip that this is all leading to a bigger reveal later on: The McFarlane Toys company will actually change name, and be called "McBatman Toys"! We received a watermarked picture of the logo which you can find here: What are your thoughts on the sudden (yet predictable) name change? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... Quick, to the Batcave! (name of my collection room) *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  3. I have both and I'd say the Hot Toys is a bit better. Also, at least, the feet can be flat, while on the Play Arts Kai one, there are those hinges that prevent you to have the feet flat, which is a major pain in the *** to pose them
  4. Thanks for the kind words! It is indeed the same ToyFarce that does the parody news twice a week, also doing reviews. I usually try to add jokes or funny pics in the reviews too (That Batgirl review being a bad example of that...)
  5. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the brand new Arkham Knight Batgirl one sixth scale figure from Hot Toys. Like mentioned in the Harley Quinn review from 2 weeks ago, Hot Toys decided to release both figures really close to each other in order to make sure that you don't start the year thinking you will be able to save some money. Harley was pretty great, so how does Batgirl fare? Sober box art, as all the other Arkham Knight figures. Barbara comes in her Arkham Knight suit (you don't say?!) along with 8 extra hands, an additional mouth plate to give her an ever so slightly different expression, 2 batarangs, a grapnel gun with 2 different batclaws (rope or no rope), and a remote hacking device, with 'hologram' screen. The body of the figure is a mix of both seamless and normal articulations. The top part is seamless, the costume is just molded on the rubber and the shoulders, arms and abs move just like a seamless figure (hinged), and then, we can see the leg articulations. Weird choice, but seamless legs with that suit would have been tricky, so it's understandable. She has "real" hair which is always kinda meh to me. I can never really style the Barbie doll hair nicely, but people who know what they are doing might get something nice out of it. The cape is just like on the Arkham Knight Batman figure: a total mess. It has wires in it (seven of them), and it looks pretty bad when you look at the back of the figure, but can look great for pictures and poses from the front. The 2 mouth plates go from "resting b**** face" to "slightly smirking". At first, I thought I got the same plate twice, but it turns out there is a very minimal difference. Arkham Knight Batgirl is an otherwise good figure, looks great, and that cape with the yellow inside is definitely eye-catching (from the front). Tons of fun poses for Barbara Gordon, who miraculously managed to stand up from her wheelchair from one chapter of the game to another (The figure is based on the DLC "A Matter of Family", which happens in the past). More news at 11:00... "Joker's got my father!"
  6. Those Fighting Armor figures are usually around $95-100, but you have to add the stapler, paper-clips, pens, ... so it can make the price a lot higher!
  7. A few days ago, Sentinel finally revealed official promo pictures for the upcoming Fighting Armor War Machine figure, which should be released in August 2022. After studying all of the pics, the most observant collectors noticed that one of the pictures had what looks like staple removers attached to the arms of good ol' James Rhodes. A lot of us like to have an action figure on their desk while working, in order to be able to play around with the figure when taking breaks, so does that make this Sentinel Fighting Armor War Machine the ultimate desk figure, putting the "fun" in "functional"? ToyFarce managed to get more exclusive promo pics, showing all of the tools that we can be used with the figure. Not only does the Sentinel Fighting Armor War Machine comes with staple removers, but you can also use lots of your desk accessories as add-ons! A peg in his back will allow you to attach a stapler to it! You can use paper clips to make a shield on his arms, thanks to magnets! The shoulder cannons can hold your pens! Make your desk a fighting armor desk with that War Machine! Pre-orders coming soon. More news at 11:00... Never lose your stapler again. *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  8. We hear lots of collectors complain about delays these days, but what about when the figures that have been revealed and promoted never actually come out? Over the last few years, Hot Toys has become very familiar with that, as they have revealed and showed figures at conventions all over the world, and those figures ended up never being released. But what are their plans for 2022? ToyFarce investigated! We heard from an anonymous source that the plans for 2022 would be for Hot Toys to reveal, promote and cancel up to 10 figures this year, which is way more than any other previous years. "It's important that people keep demanding for those figures. There are people in our comment section that are still asking for figures that were revealed 4 or even 5 years ago, posting a picture of the figure with the comment 'When??', which helps keep the algorithm going and get more views on our products." Sometimes, it can even lead to a miracle! The Justice League Cyborg figure, for example, which was revealed and displayed at various cons in 2017. No updates were given on that figure for years, and fans kept demanding it #ReleaseCyborg, until mid-2021, when the figure actually went up for pre-order! Mind you, the figure has yet to come out and is still scheduled for late 2022 or early 2023... if it even comes out! More news at 11:00... released! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  9. It's wednesday and you know what that means: ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the Suicide Squad wave from McFarlane Toys' DC Multiverse line. Better late than never, I know. Those were sitting in my Pile of Loot for a while, and I finally got them a bit before Christmas. It was also a great occasion to show off the awesome street diorama I got from @78pts.of.articulation! The greatest part of that wave is of course the King Shark build-a-figure, which looks just like Nanaue from the movie, in all his goofiness! First off, Harley Quinn with the red dress from the movie. I didn't think the likeness looked great from the promo pictures, but it turns out you can definitely see Margot Robbie in there. The details and tattoo look pretty great too and she comes with the javelin from... Javelin, who met his demise earlier in the movie. Bloodsport looks pretty good too, apart from his severe case of plastic diaper (some DC Multiverse figures have that). He comes with 2 swords which is nice, but as he mostly uses guns in the movie, it's a bit meh. (I know, I know, it's because of Warner Bros studios, yadda yadda, but his guns don't even look like guns, so there could have been a loophole!). Peace Maker was also one of the figures I wanted the most from that wave, with the upcoming series coming soon. It's a pretty decent basic figure. The likeness with the mask on is pretty decent, compared to the unmasked version which looked like John Cena has a stroke. He comes with a sword, but I've seen many collectors solve that issue by either getting third party guns for him, or 3D printing it themselves. Polka Dot Man. Who would have thought we'd ever get a cinematic version of Polka Dot Man, let alone an action figure for it, huh? Polka Dot Man had a great part in the movie where he could see everybody as his mother, whom he hates. He comes with his goggles, a polka dot throwing effect (yep), and an extra arm band (which i haven't figured why it came with it. Any idea?) And now, it's time for the MAIN EVENT! The King Shark build-a-figure. That thing is so much fun! Weirdly enough, he has decent articulation on his arms. The legs are kinda stuck due to the shorts, but I've seen third party soft goods shorts that enabled the legs to move a lot better (there's also a freaking third party tuxedo for him, and i'm so tempted...). Obviously, you're not gonna put him in Spider-man poses, but that was never the goal. It still is a very fun action figure. The next DC Multiverse figures I should pick will be the whole Three Joker wave (including the Gamestop one). Pretty excited about those, as I liked the comic book and that Batman figure looks like it could be the definitive McFarlane Toys Batman. Street Diorama by @78pts.of.articulation More news at 11:00... "You came back for me??"
  10. BREAKING NEWS FROM TOYFARCE! It's 2022, and one thing that is for sure is that, through our toys, we'll spend a good part of this year... IN SPAAAACE! Since billionaires have decided to go to space last year, there's no reason we can't have a little bit of intergalactic fun as well! A lot of upcoming toys seem to have a cosmic theme in common: - The Four Horsemen studios, mostly known for their glorious fantasy-themed Mythic Legions line, will release their first wave of Cosmic Legions, which will have all sorts of aliens with amazing designs and all that space-themed goodness. - A few toy-related Kickstarter projects that ended last year, such as the RoboSkull MkII by Skeletron or the Futuristic Combat Soldiers by Invincible Toys will make their way to our shelves (Okay, Futuristic Combat Soldiers is more "future" than "space" but they have some crazy tech, a sci-fi twist, so... still counts!). - Even Hasbro will have their share of extraterrestrial toys, with the Haslab Star Wars the Vintage Collection Razor Crest spaceship landing soon, the figures related to the new Book of Boba Fett series on their way, and last year's Haslab Marvel Legends figure, Galactus, coming with a few of his heralds later this year, along with a potential cosmic-themed Marvel Legends wave (as hinted by Dan Yun). Are you excited to spend 2022 in outer space? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... SPACESHIP! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  11. BREAKING NEWS FROM TOYFARCE: On this week's episode of Star Wars - The Book of Boba Fett, the moment teased in the trailers that we were all waiting for finally happened. Some hired assassin was tossed in the Rancor Pit, and... nothing (spoilers?). What could be the reason? ToyFarce investigated... ToyFarce contacted members of the filming crew to get an answer as to why the Rancor Pit would be empty. Some would say it's because Luke Skywalker killed the Rancor in Star Wars Episode 6: Return of the Jedi (spoilers?), and that Bib Fortuna, the daimyo after Jabba, never really took the time to get a new one, but an anonymous crew member told us that it was simply because the Haslab campaign for the Black Series Rancor didn't reach its goal. "When the big door opens, and there's nothing, they might as well add the Haslab page of the Rancor, where it shows it's not funded", we were told. Would things have been different if the Rancor reached its goal? How about a baby Rancor like Muchi? More news at 11:00... (spoilers?) *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  12. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the brand new Arkham Knight Harley Quinn one sixth scale figure from Hot Toys. Hot Toys has kept releasing and announcing high quality one sixth scale figures throughout 2021, but it was mostly Marvel and Star Wars stuff... until in the last few days of 2022, when the 2 previously announced Arkham Knight figures of Harley Quinn and Batgirl both came out within a few days of each other. Thanks, Hot Toys, I hated having money on my account anyway... The box art is reminescent of the other Arkham Knight figures (Batman and the Arkham Knight himself), with some art of the character in the front, and... not much else. Harley comes in her Arkham Knight costume (duh), along with multiple accessories: extra hands, her giant mallet, a baseball bat, an articulated Jack-in-the-box and, surprisingly, a gun and an assault rifle complete with pink dices and a photo of her Mistah J. It's a bit disappointing that the figure comes with only one headsculpt/facial expression, especially since it's so incredibly bland. A character like Harley deserves at least a laughing head, or even a "screaming maniacally as she bashes your brains out with her giant mallet" expression. Because of that one bland expression, it kinda limits the figure in terms of poses. Having her wielding her baseball bat, mallet or machine gun with such a basic expression could have looked better. Also, the arms are seamless, and parts of the costume are made with some kind of pleather (leggings, arm bracers), which looks like it's not going to be durable, and bending the legs or arms of the figure will definitely leave some sort of mark or 'crease' in the long term, as is tradition with Hot Toys. Use with caution, even though it's a toy, and you should still pose it however you want. (...bUt ThE ReSaLe VaLuE!?). Here she is, finally reunited with her Mistah J! Batgirl should arrive in the next few days, so another Hot Toys DC figure review should be coming soon. More news at 11:00... "How's it going, Bat-brain? It´s been a while!"
  13. Happy New Year everybody! It's now 2022 (or "2020: 2 - The Sequel") and what better time to take a look back at all the things that happened in 2021, which has been a wild year in terms of toys and collectibles. So much new action figures! Many announcements! Wow! Here are a few points that made 2021 so undeniably 2021: DELAYS, THE CARGO SHIP CLUSTERF$@#! It's been a rough year for container ships. Cargo ships are full, ports struggle to unload them, boats have to wait for days, weeks, months... which means that our toys keep getting delayed all the time. Because of that, all the brands are starting to act like MAFEX or Mezco, with figures planned in January coming out in November. (Don't worry though, MAFEX and Mezco are still champions in that category). MCFARLANE TOYS: DOUBLE THE AMOUNT OF FIGURES, DOUBLE THE FUN! In the wrap-up of 2020, we were already astonished that McFarlane Toys produced 49 figures in the first year of the new DC Multiverse line. 49 figures in 2020 was wild, right? Well... In 2021, over a hundred came out! 100+! And that's just the DC Multiverse line, we are not counting the Spawn, Mortal Kombat, Warhammer 40k, Princess Bride (!), Witcher, etc... figure lines that are also appearing on our store's pegs. Oh, and in case you thought it would slow down, it's January 3rd and there are already 79 figures announced for 2022... "Okay, from now one, I will pick and choose", he said... (Special thanks to @krysalid on instagram for the permission to use his checklists!) LET THERE BE LEGENDS! Hasbro also had a very productive year. While the very popular G.I.Joe Classified line saw about 15-16 new figures released in 2021, the Marvel Legends team said "Hold my beer" and released waves on top of other waves, so much so that some stores were carrying 4-5 different waves all at once! Between the Disney+ wave, the Spider-verse wave, the Super Villains wave (which gave us The Hood, aka the real toy of the year), the Ursa Major (or Build-a-bear) wave, the Shang Chi wave, the House of X wave, the Eternals wave, the What if? wave, a second Age of Apocalypse wave and the Armadillo wave, along with a couple retro Spider-man and Fantastic Four waves, those Marvel Legends shelves were always plentiful. Add a few store exclusive, pulse exclusive, single releases and 3 packs and you've got close to 100 new Marvel Legends figures in 2021. My wallet! It hurts! 2021 WAS SO HARD ON THE KNEES... The knee seems to have been the Achilles's heel for a few company this year. First, NECA released the long awaited April O'Neil figure from the 90's TMNT movie line, and... well, her knees left a lot to be desired. Later that year, the Haslab Sentinel finally arrived to those who participated in the campaign, and the first few units seemed to have floppy knees. Luckily, a quick fix with a screwdriver would solve (temporarily?) the issue. I don't want to sound (k)needy, but the knee articulation on a toy has been around for a certain number of years, and it should be a given at this point, no? CROWFUNDING IN 2021 There were so many toy related crowdfunding campaigns this year. SO MANY! Kickstarter "kickstarted" the Animal Warriors of the Kingdom by Spero Studios, the Futuristic Combat Soldiers by Invincible Toys, and the RoboSkull MkII, to name a few. Hasbro also had several projects ongoing as part of their HasLab campaigns, such as a gigantic Galactus figure for the Marvel Legends line, a replica of the Ghostbusters proton pack, or the Skystriker combat jet. Unfortunately, not all projects reached their goal, or some were cancelled before the end. We'll pour one out in their memories, and hope they'll eventually come back in some shape or form. Here's to you, Rancor! What were the highlights of 2021 for you? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... 2022 style!
  14. BREAKING NEWS FROM TOYFARCE! It's the end of the year, and the Top 10 season is in full bloom! All your favorite reviewers and Youtubers are meticulously preparing their Top 10 action figures of the year. Everyone and their mother will have their own, and it's inevitable. We, at ToyFarce, only feel bad for those action figures that came out late this month, since they will arrive only after the Top 10 lists have already been made, and won't have a chance to make it in this year's list, but also came out this year, so won't be eligible for next year's list. Sorry, MAFEX Brown suit Wolverine, no list for you, bub! ToyFarce interviewed one of the most prolific Top 10 list publishers to understand what it's like to make a top 10 list: "The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning, is that I have a bowl of one of my Top 10 favorite breakfast cereals. Then, I'll have a shower where I use one of my Top 10 all time favorite shampoo and conditioner combos. Then I'll take some time to ponder about the bottom 5 of my Top 10 list for this week. If I'm lazy, I'll go to one of my Top 10 favorite lunch places in my neighborhood. In the afternoon, I'll continue thinking about my Top 10 list. Maybe i'll do some laundry using one of my Top 10 favorite softeners so that my clothers always smell nice and fresh. In the evening, while filming and publishing my Top 10 list for that week, I'll order in from one of my Top 10 favorite take-out places. I'll let you in on a secret, though. Next year, I'm planning to switch things up, and do something revolutionary. It's a big risk but I'm confident it will pay off. I'm going to start to post Top 9 lists!" That sounds... exhausting? More news at 11:00... How about a Top 10 of all the 'More news at 11:00' jokes? *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  15. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the "Shadow Warriors" two-pack from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie by NECA. Who are the Shadow Warriors, you ask? They are Oroku Saki and Hamato Yoshi, from that flashback scene that lasts one minute and twenty seconds! NECA pulled a move from the old Kenner Star Wars line, where every character, even the ones that had 2 seconds of screen time, got an action figure, and delivered us this two-pack (or should we say four-pack, since it comes with 2 Splinters!) loaded with accessories. The packaging is the classic NECA TMNT box, with window in the front and pictures in the back. Since it all comes from a flashback scene, let's go back from the beginning... "Did I tell you about that dream I had, with shirtless men? - I'd rather you don't. - Alright, then here's a flashback..." The figures come with a ton of accessories: tons of weapons, 2 Splinter rats along with a rat cage (the best part of this set, in my opinion), an additional kimono (with arms) if you want both your Shadow Warriors to be wearing clothes (it's winter after all), or 2 extra 'naked' arms in case you want both of them shirtless, from that 'other' flashback/dream sequence of Splinter. "Many years ago, I lived in Japan... A pet of my master Yoshi." "Mimicking his movements and learning the mysterious art of Ninjitsu, for Yoshi was one of Japan's finest Shadow Warriors." "His only rival was a man named Oroku Saki." "And they competed in all things, but none more fiercely than for the love of a woman...Thang Shin." (Well, we don't have a figure of Shin, so i'll skip forward a bit. Long story short, Shin loves Yoshi, they flee to America, and Saki is mad). "But Saki vowed vengeance, I remember it well. As my master returned home to find his beloved Shin, lying on the floor, and then he saw her killer. Saki wasted no words, and during the struggle, my cage was broken." "I leapt to Saki's face, biting and clawing..." "...but he threw me to the floor and took one swipe with his Katana, slicing my ear." "Then he was gone, and I was alone." The rat would go on to become Master Splinter. And Oroku Saki would become Shredder. If they're going to do deep cuts like that, I can't wait for the action figure of Danny's father! More news at 11:00... "I too once had a family, Danny."
  16. First things first, ToyFarce and Toy News International hope you all had a merry christmas and happy holidays. We are now in that period between Christmas and New Year's Eve when everything is kind of a blur. What day is it? Did I shower today? Who knows?! Unfortunately for some collectors, we have received lots of messages about Christmas disappointments. One of the messages that we felt the most for was from Ryan, a fellow toy collector who wanted a MAFEX Avengers: Endgame Iron Spider... only to see Santa bring him a S.H. Figuarts Avengers: Endgame Iron Spider. His reaction below: "I wrote it very clearly on my letter to Santa! I wanted the MAFEX one, not the S.H.Figuarts one! This is B.S.! All my other MCU figures are from MAFEX, so I obviously cannot display the S.H. Figuarts with them! And I'm gonna have to buy all the other S.H.Figuarts figures from the MCU since I got this one... There's no other way, now. Not cool, Santa. Not cool!" As long as Santa didn't manage to confuse a Hot Toys figure with a Funko Pop one, we should be good. How about you? Did you get anything you didn't order from Santa? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... "Not cool, Santa. Not cool!" *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  17. It's December 24th, and we would like to wish all toy collectors and toy lovers worldwide happy holidays and merry Christmas! During that time, it's not uncommon to see presents under the Christmas tree, a tradition that we personally do not get (if Santa Claus is supposed to deliver the presents on Christmas Eve, how do you justify having presents sitting under the tree the whole month of december?). One thing, though, is that thanks to our very trained eye, we can help you recognize if a present is going to be a toy or not! On that picture, you can see different shapes and sizes of presents. The ones that are the easiest to decipher are the figures on cards, or blister pack, since they have that unmistakable shape with the flat cardboard on the back and the bubble in the front. Even if it's will packed, you can still possibly see the shape. A mid-size rectangular box could imply that you are getting an action figure that comes in a box, like the McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse line, Hasbro's GI Joe Classified or Star Wars Black Series, Mattel's Masters of the Universe Revelation or a NECA figure! A box that is more square than rectangular could very well be either a lego set, an import figure (MAFEX or SH Figuarts) or even a Mezco one! If the box is rather small and rectangular, on the other hand, it might be that a loved one's present will be a Funko Pop... Sorry. What toys were on your list for this Christmas? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... Ho ho ho! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  18. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! Just in time for Hallowe...Christmas, this week, we're looking at the Zombie Captain America figure from the 'What If?' TV series, from the Marvel Legends line from Hasbro. BigBadToyStore finally had it in store and I couldn't wait to pick up my Pile of Loot once it arrived in it. Look at it coming straight out of its packaging! First impression, that figue looks pretty amazing! That new sculpt with the holes in the legs, the exposed ribs, and the blue-ish flesh color looks spectacular and that figure might definitely have a place in a lot of collector's top 10 lists this year. Articulation-wise, it is your standard Marvel Legends figure, with double knees, double elbows, ab-crunch, etc... It is also 'pinless', aka we don't see the articulation 'pins', for a nice seamless finish on the arms and legs. The 'What if' episode with the zombies was one of my favorites, and I hope we'll see more zombie versions of Marvel superheroes down the line (I imagine a straight-up adaptation of the Marvel Zombies comic books from 2005 to the big screen will probably never happen, but at least we got to see a version of it in the MCU via 'What if'). OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH! 'Cause this is thriller, thriller night... More news at 11:00... Braaaaaiiiinssss!
  19. Are you sometimes confused by the terms used in a conversation about toys, or in the title of an item on ebay? Worry not, we've got you covered! Toy collecting can sometimes be overwhelming, and we will try to give you all the tools so that you don't ever have to worry about looking clueless while discussing toys with strangers on the internet or at a convention! You're welcome! This first part will cover the basics, and the terms covering the condition of a toy. ACTION FIGURE: The coolest thing on the planet. The thing we all love the most. Wikipedia says "a poseable character toy figurine made most commonly of plastic, and often based upon characters from a film, comic book, military, video game or television program; fictional or historical". DOLL: The opposite of an action figure. They're not dolls, they're action figures, dad! Action figures are not dolls, but sometimes, dolls can be action figures. There is a grey area... Rule of thumb: If you can brush its hair, it's probably a doll. LOOSE: When talking about the condition of an action figure, saying that it is loose means, like for a person, that it has been around. You will not be its first. MINT / M.O.C. (Mint on card): Evokes the freshness of mint, so basically, your action figure is very fresh, still in its packaging. Probably smells nice and tastes delicious too! M.I.B.: Unfortunately nothing to do with Agent J, Agent K or aliens, M.I.B. is a variation of M.O.C., but for items that come in a box rather than a card: Mint in Box. CASE-FRESH: The figure is brand new still inside the case (cardboard shipper box) and you will be the first person to touch it, as it has never been displayed outside. If you want to go one step further, you'd have to get your items 'container-fresh', where you would be the first person to touch the case from the container. UNPUNCHED: Nobody has punched the figure (who would do such a thing?), so it's still in pristine condition, with his little cardboard 'chad' still intact (the little cardboard piece that covers the hole where the peg goes). Talking about pegs... PEG-WARMER: A peg-warmer is a figure that nobody really wants, so it stays behind in the stores to warm the pegs, who sometimes get really cold during the winter month. A peg-warmer will sometime offer a blanket and hot cocoa to the peg. What terms would you like to see in the next part? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... part 1! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  20. The intern wanted to remain anonymous (don't worry, Tom, your secret is safe with us!)
  21. Yesterday, the last Hasbro Pulse Fan First Thursday Marvel Legends livestream took place, there had been no leaks popping up online and everything was going according to the plan... until about 2h before the live, where Hasbro themselves revealed one of the entire waves that would be announced later during the stream. The livestream took place exceptionally at 1pm ET, and not at the usual 11am ET. So, what happened? ToyFarce investigated... We got an anonymous tip that the person that usually takes care of those reveals, sending all the pictures and material to all the online stores is on vacation during the holiday season, and an unpaid intern was actually the one in charge for those reveals that day. We managed to contact said intern: ToyFarce: "Hello, and thank you for your time. Could we ask what happened yesterday, with the reveals?" Intern: "Yesterday? Oh, everything went fine. I had everything ready, and just needed to press a button, right after the livestream had started, so that all the stores and websites would get the pictures and post them, as the livestream was ongoing, around 11am ET." ToyFarce: "The livestream was at 1pm ET, this time... Not at 11am..." Intern: "Oh... Oh no." ToyFarce: "Oh no, indeed." Intern: "I...I have to call my boss right now... Sorry, bye!" Here you go, folks! We now know why the reveals were out 2h before. Get all your Marvel Legends needs from our sponsors BigBadToyStore or Entertainment Earth! More news at 11:00... or was it 1pm? *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  22. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're looking at the Figure-rise Standard Amplified Batman model kit from Bandai. Yep, Bandai is doing Batman model kits now. I was very surprised too when the solicitations started to pop up on all the usual toy store websites, wondering if it was going to be a vehicle, a figure, etc... When the first pictures were revealed, I decided to pick it up, since I've always liked to build Gundam robots and other model kits, and also collect Batman figures. Two birds, one stone! It was a very simple and straight-forward build. All I used were some pliers and a modeling file to shave off the tiny bits after cutting. No glue or anything else needed. Just like the Gundam model kit, it was all very easy to assemble. First the head, the chest part, right arm, left arm, the legs and the waist part and then, the cape. It took about 3-4 hours to build the entire thing. The final result, though, looks pretty freaking great! That is a nice, very articulated Batman figure. Just like the other Bandai model kits, the figure is super light, but can be posed in all sorts of positions. There are tons of details all over the suit, which looks like a high-tech version of it. The cape is separated in 4 different parts which can be folded to look 'closed' or unfolded for the 'open' look. The logo on his chest can be removed to be used as a batarang. Smart! Comparison pics with the MAFEX New Adventures of Batman figure, the McFarlane Toys White Knight Batman and Death Metal Batman, and the DC Collectibles Icons Batman and Essentials Batman. 23. BREAKING NEWS FROM TOYFARCE! No exciting announcement to make? No new items or teases to reveal? Fear not! You can always do a packaging reveal! This past week, in the same fashion as that friend we all have that doesn't have anything to say, but still says something (you know the one), several of the big brands didn't have any new products to reveal, so they just revealed the cardboard goodness that our MIB collector friends love so much. NECA started the trend by revealing the packaging of a figure we didn't know we needed, the Universal Monsters x TMNT Frankenstein Raphael figure. The packaging looks stunning with some Universal Monsters/old-timey horror poster vibes. Pre-order yours here! Hasbro followed up, with first some updates for the fully (crowd)funded Ghostbusters Spengler's Proton Pack, of which the campaign ended last night. They posted an update on all social media talking about the cardboard prison of the upcoming prop replica, mentioning that the designers are hard at work to make a fantastic packaging for an "otherworldly unboxing experience". Then, during their Power Rangers Fan First Friday livestream, after announcing their new *inhale* Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Lightning Collection Zord Ascension Project Dino Megazord, the team took a portion of the time to talk cardboard with us, revealing the beautiful design of the packaging. That is a box that is going to be hard to throw away... Pre-order yours here! And finally, at the end of that slow news week, Super7 revealed the packaging art of their upcoming TMNT Ultimates Party Wagon. Super7, who are some of the best at giving us an awesome, sweet, nostalgic unboxing experience with their Ultimates line, didn't disappoint once again, and the art on the box for the humongous vehicle looks fantastic. The TMNT Ultimates Turtle Wagon can still be found here. More news at 11:00... When in doubt, packaging reveal! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  24. It's December and Christmas is in the air. The holiday season is in full bloom, and it's not uncommon for people to get the holiday blues, but it's not often that it happens to our figures! We checked on a few figures and asked them: "What's up with all the blue?" First, the G.I. Joe Classified Series Hasbro Pulse Con 2021 Exclusive "Master of Disguise" Zartan (that's a mouthful!). Some people noticed that, due to the cold weather during the delivery, their Zartan arrived already blue to their homes. But some other have noticed their Zartan turning blue for no reason during the day too! We contacted the office of Doc, the G.I.Joe Medic, who told us that if your Zartan stays blue for more than 4 hours, please see a doctor. This week, we got our first peek at an upcoming wave of Star Wars: The Black Series figures (available here) , and we couldn't help but notice that Bib Fortuna has a weird shade of blue on his face. After a quick investigation, it turns out that good ol'Bib went a bit too heavy on the blue milk... The Tatooine medical center confirmed to us that it one of the side effects of drinking too much blue milk, and that Bib Fortuna will eventually be fine. He might even end up getting a gig in a future commercial... Lastly, we inquired about the new Jack the Frosty Elf figure from the Naugthy or Nice Collection from Fresh Monkey Fiction (available here). The recently revealed Elf is definitely bluer than his co-workers, so we asked if it was the cold weather or blue milk that were the cause, but we got a reply from Santa's office: "No, it's just depression."
