  1. Just when we thought we'd seen it all... Last week, an ebay listing was brought to our attention: The seller offered a completely empty box from the G.I.Joe Classified Series Spirit figure, for about the same price as if the figure was in it. ToyFarce decided to investigate and found out about a store in Florida (Florida man, again?), who sells only empty boxes, complete with plastic inserts and twist ties. The owner of the store explained us that it can be either for collectors that bought a loose figure but want to keep it "MOC", or for loose action figure collectors who want to convert and become "mint in box" collectors. "Come visit our store, we have it all: Hasbro, Neca, Mezco, McFarlane Toys, Super7, Mythic Legions, SH Figuarts, ... We got all the empty boxes you need. If you got loosies, we got their boxes!" said the owner. "We even sell a "mint scent spray", that you can spray inside the box to give it that "out of factory" smell we all love!" More news at 11:00... Talk about thinking outside the box! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  2. Over the weekend, Todd McFarlane, the ToddFather himself, announced another variant of the Gunslinger Spawn, that will come with a horse, and will be exclusive to Gamestop. First there was the one with the rifle, then the one with the gatling gun, and now one with a horse. But wait, there is more! ToyFarce got the exclusive insider scoop that there will soon be a fourth version, this time with a guitar, that will be exclusive to K-Mart! The Gunslinger Spawn was certainly a hit, just like the Mortal Kombat Spawn before him, that we got in all possible flavors (mint, strawberry cream, mustard...). It made sense for McFarlane Toys to keep releasing cool variants of this one too. ToyFarce received an exclusive first look at the figure, since we did such a good job promoting the Mortal Kombat Spawn with a trumpet a few years ago. You can see that this is a legitimate sample, straight from the factory, because it comes in a tupperware, just like the ones that Todd McFarlane shows in his videos. More news at 11:00... Who will play the drums? *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  3. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means... ToyFarce reviews! This week, we're having a look at the 4 main turtles from the Super7 Ultimates! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line. When the first few waves were announced, I skipped on them since there was only one turtle per wave, and wanted to wait to see how they were in-hand. After a few waves were announced, they started to come out and then, the secondary market prices started to creep up, and I just made my peace with the fact that I missed out on those. I thought I can't really get into a line if I don't have the main characters, right? Thankfully, last summer, Super7 announced that they would sell all 4 turtles as a bundle, with a re-issue of the first one that came out (Raphael). So... I got them! First things first, the packaging. Super7 always does an excellent job with the packaging and the unboxing experience. Each comes with its own shipper boxes, and a nice sleeve for that 'deluxe' effect. The boxes have an amazing design, where you can see the figure with all its accessories through a window (remember those?). Raphael, who used to be my favorite growing up (I lost mine in a river as a kid, so there's some trauma involved). That figure comes packed with accessories: a new and improved head, 8 extra hands, extra sais (the figure already had some on his belt, but there were additional ones), communicators (open and closed), a slice of pizza and the same 'weapon rack' that the original figures from 1988 came out with (along with those same weapons "painted and ready to use!"). Great nostalgia trick! (Can you imagine if today's collector reviewed the original figures? "What? No thigh swivel? No biceps swivel? Complete absence of ab-crunch! The head is soft, this is BS!" Thank god those came out when we were children...). Leonardo was in the second wave of figures, and comes with the same amount of accessories, except that he has katanas instead of sais (duh!), and has one less pair of hands. The articulation on those figures is pretty great, and they really are a love letter to the old ones, all while being a huge improvement/modern version at the same time. Michaelangelo, from wave 3, comes with similar accessories as the other ones, except he has a whole pizza box instead of just one slice, and a grappling hook instead of communicators. He also comes with 2 version of his nunchukus: either all plastic and straight, or with actual chains. Last but not least, the best turtle, Donatello, from wave 4. Donnie comes with the same plethora of accessories, with 2 bo staffs (in case he loses one?). And that finally completes the set of our 4 favorite turtles. Super7 did a great job at making at making those figures look just like the old ones, while being up to modern standards. The old head sculpts are spot on, and the newer versions are definitely nice to look at (Raphael being the best one of the 4, with a bit more details). $45 per figure is definitely not great, but the argument of Super7 being a smaller company and needing to have slightly higher prices also makes sense (plus, it beats paying triple on ebay). Still, I'm happy with them. I don't think I will go all-in on the line, but I do think i might have to go back and look for a couple of them... I hear Bebop and Rocksteady are awesome figures. What did you think of the Super7 Ultimates! TMNT line? Which one is your favorite? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... Radical!
  4. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce Reviews! This week, we're having a look at the Power Rangers x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Lightning Collection two-packs by Hasbro (minus the Morphed Shredder which has yet to fall in my pile of loot!). For those unaware, those come from a great comic book crossover by IDW Publishing and Boom Studios, where the Power Rangers and the Ninja Turtles cross paths, and eventually the Ninja Turtles end up suiting up using the Power Rangers morphers and coins. It's a fun read! But how about those figures? It's Morphin' Time! The first two-pack released was the Red ranger Raphael with Tommy as a foot soldier. In the comic book, Tommy (yes, that Tommy, the Green Ranger!) has joined forces with Shredder and the Foot clan. Raphael is a great figure, with tons of articulations (double elbows, double knees, etc), and comes with an unmasked head, 4 extra hands, his trusted weapons, the sais and some effects for them. Tommy comes with a regular foot soldier head, a facemask to cover his face, along with a facemask that is pulled down, extra hands, a katana, lightning effects for the katana and a punch effect. The second one had Leonardo and Donatello, as the Blue and Black ranger, respectively (yeah, there was no purple ranger in Mighty Morphin', so black will have to do...). They both come with an unmasked head, 4 extra hands, their weapons (katanas for Leo and a bo staffs/axes for Donnie), along with some effects for them. Just like Raph, they are very cool figures, can be displayed in tons of action poses,... I mean, come on. They're Power Rangers Ninja Turtles! Even if they had 5 points of articulation, they'd probably still be cool! The third two-pack had the Yellow ranger Michaelangelo (once again, no orange, so close enough), and the Pink ranger April O'Neil. The turtle comes with the usual unmasked head, extra hands, weapons and effects, and April also has a camera, a microphone (so she can still fulfill her journalist duties), a bow and arrow + effect, and a blaster. Out of all 4 turtles, Michaelangelo has the most derpy unmasked head, followed very closely by Donatello. The Green Ranger Shredder has started to appear in stores, so it shouldn't be long before he joins the other ones. There's a lot of fun crossovers in comic books these days, and I hope we can get more of those fun 'special events' toys. I'd love a Transformers/Star Trek transforming Enterprise, for example... What other comic book crossover would you like to see figures of? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... Cowabunga! It's Morphin' Time!
  5. Earlier this week, the Hasbro Marvel Legends team held their latest livestream, a "Fan First Tuesday" (Didn't it use to be 'Fan First Friday'? or was it Monday...), where they announced a plethora of new cool figures, along with new packaging and new prices, which were met with quite a lot of controversy from said fans. The new packaging, as shown here, will be more eco-friendly and use less plastic, which means that they will not have a window at the front showing the figure anymore, and will be all cardboard. Now, we are all totally for saving the planet and trying to reduce waste, but a lot of collectors still thought that it was not the best way to handle it. From experience, we can already tell that there are lots of nefarious "figure swappers" that would buy a figure, grab what they want from it, put another lesser figure back in the packaging and bring it back to the store for a refund... and they were doing already doing that when the boxes had windows! To be at the front of that problem, Hasbro unveiled their new idea: the Marvel Legends Mystery Boxes! That way, you won't be disappointed if the thing you find in your packaging is different from the one displayed on the box, since it will always be a surprise! Is it the Spider-man figure that you wanted? Or is it a box full of plastic spoons? A diaper, perhaps? You'll only know once you open it! More news at 11:00... 6. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the first wave of new Spawn figures, from the Spawn's Universe line of McFarlane Toys! Spawn is Todd McFarlane's creation, and the very reason why he started McFarlane Toys in the first place nearly 3 decades ago (as other brands did not want to do Spawn figures for him). In the late 90's/early 00's, you couldn't go to a comic book store without seeing a ton of Spawn figures. Then, suddenly, it stopped. Sure, we got the Mortal Kombat Spawn figure in recent years, along with the Kickstarter Spawn, a new and improved version of the very first figure, but this is the first actual wave of Spawn figures. Exciting! First off, odd choice, but instead of going with a classic look for Spawn on that first wave, McFarlane Toys went for the Gunslinger Spawn instead, most likely because there is a new comic book about this Spawn coming out as well. The Gunslinger Spawn comes with 2 revolvers, a rifle and a rifle bag. The sculpt is amazing and the colors are great, with really vibrant red and green. You might hurt yourself while handling the figure with all those spikes. Still, a triumphant return for Spawn in toy form. The Redeemer, or Anti-Spawn, the heaven's equivalent to hell's Spawn, is also a nice figure, even if not my favorite from this wave. The details on the sculpt and the wings are stunning, and the Redeemer comes with his sword. The wings do leave a little to be desired, the articulation on them does not allow a lot of movement, and the peg is really thin, and one of the wings of my figure is 'locked' in a pose, and it looks like trying to move them more will break the peg. Raven Spawn also looks amazing in its creepiness. The dark colors and details, along with the axe/scythe and chains accessories will look perfectly gloomy on any shelf! The contrast with the bright green of the eyes is a nice touch. This is another figure that you might need gloves to pose, as the spikes on the gauntlets and legs are not pleasant. The Clown, a classic Spawn villain, looks just as creepy and evil as when we last saw him. This one comes with a gigantic backpack rocket launcher full of weapons, which can be a little heavy and make the figure fall backwards a lot. I don't think I know anybody who will display him with it anyway, it's kind of a weird accessory. He also comes with a knife and a razor blade. The figure itself is small, but because of the giant backpack accessory, its packaging ended up being one of the biggest of that wave... ...apart from Violator. That thing is a BEAST. Seriously, this is not a toy, it is a weapon. It is heavy, has horns and spikes growing all over and looks amazing. One of McFarlane Toys' strong suits has always been big monster figures, and we are very far from the first Violator figure, which was basically a glorified bend-em figure. This Violator looks more like the one in the modern version of the comic book (#beefy). Definitely the highlight of that wave. All that plastic for only about $50 is insane. Which was your favorite Spawn figure that you hope to see in that Spawn's Universe line? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... WANDAAAA !
  7. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at 'The Batman' first wave from the McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse line. With the movie out on HBO Max since monday, I felt it was a good time to check those out. Several other toy brands have since announced their versions of it since (Hot Toys, Mezco, SH Figuarts,...), but one thing that is for sure is that Todd McFarlane beat everybody to the punch, with these figures being available everywhere right as the movie came out, with gigantic themed end-caps full of action figures, 12-inch 'posed statues', etc.. being found all over the place. First off, Mr. Vengeance, The Batman himself. If you're familiar with the dozens of other Batman figures from that line, you won't be very surprised. It's a good figure with the usual McFarlane Toys articulations ("nO tHiGh sWiVeL? UrGh!") and it will certainly do the job at looking like the Batman from the movie on your shelf, side-eyes and all. The details on the suit and the likeness are very good. Mine came with the seemingly common defect of having a double cowl (basically, the figure came with the cape that the unmasked figure should have, so he has the cowl on his head, and the cowl folded in his back), which sucks but I'll try to get that sorted out. He comes with his grapple gun. The Catwoman figure is a bit more of a mess. The female body and articulation is okay, the details, how minimal they are, are good, but the only issue I would have with that figure is that she never really wore the mask that way in the movie. The mask did not cover her mouth in the movie, and she either had it not covering her mouth, or not at all, so that version is kind of a weird choice. Based on concept art, maybe? Also, she comes with a whip as an accessory, which has to be one of the thickest whip of all time. Finally, the Riddler, which also looks exactly like he does in the movie, regardless of if you like or don't like the design of his suit. He's using some sort of military thermal facemask to hide his face, along with some saran wrap (the figure has transparent plastic around the hair, great detail). Basic articulation as well, which fits here, since we didn't really see him do any acrobatics in the movie. He comes with the carpet tucker he used in the movie to kill his first victim. I watched the movie again on monday and I still really loved it. Are you going to watch it? How many times? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... I'm Vengeance!
  8. Happy Easter, everybody! We hope you all had a nice Easter Sunday, and that your hunt for chocolate eggs (or toys!) was successful! After hunting for eggs, which one usually does in a yard, garden or park, it is not uncommon for us toy collectors to go for a toy hunt, which one usually does in a Target or a Walmart. This made us wonder if there was a possibility to combine both, by having the Easter Bunny bringing us action figures instead of the usual chocolate eggs. We asked several representative of Easter and couldn't get a right answer. Some seem to think that it's allowed. Other seem to think that you can only get action figures if they are Easter-themed (NECA Easter Bebop and Rocksteady two-pack!), or if they represent a rabbit (Usagi Yojimbo, Bugs Bunny, Bucky O'hare,...) or eggs (Pokemon's exeggcute?). However, the Easter Bunny Association gave us the confirmation that it is perfectly OK to ask for action figures on Easter, simply for the fact that it is not written anywhere that it is forbidden. Let's say it's a grey area! More news at 11:00... I'll go double-check the yard, in case the Easter Bunny brought some figures! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  9. "Welcome to Buzzblast Buzzes... where we buzz about Power Rangers!". Those were the first words we heard from Pam during last week's Hasbro Pulse Fan First Tuesday double-feature livestreams, which was preceded by an hour long Transformers reveal extravaganza. Along with Jordan and Bill (not Jarrett), the Buzzblast Buzzes crew would then proceed to entertain us for 13 whole minutes, in front of a live studio audience (we could definitely hear laughter and rounds of applause, and we confirmed it was not a laugh track) with a show full of surprises and reveals. ToyFarce heard reports that the dynamic of this trio caught the attention of some Netflix executives, who decided to sign up the show for Netflix for 2 seasons on the spot! We got an exclusive first look at the press release that will be sent everywhere soon (Entertainment Weekly magazine, etc...). Here are the pictures: More news at 11:00... 10. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the latest Unmatched wave of Jazwares AEW figures, series 3, with a focus on everyone's favorite bunch: The Dark Order #JoinTheDarkOrder The wave inclused the first Jazwares figure of the late Brodie Lee (RIP), along with first-ever figures of Evil Uno, Stu Grayson, Anna Jay and John Silver (aka Johnny Hungie). Brodie Lee comes with the original TNT Championship belt, with the red strap, along with a stack of paper and a rolled one (from the classic "Being the Elite" sketches which always ended with him beating down the other guys with rolls of paper... such a great touch). Evil Uno comes with a microphone and extra hands. Stu Grayson, Anna Jay and John Silver all come with an extra headsculpt and extra hands. All 5 figures also come with a pack of trading cards, which is definitely a welcome bonus! Making their way to the ring, this wave has only killer figures. The likenesses are very good, finally having most members of the same faction as a single wave is awesome (even if we still need Alex Reynolds, Number 10, Alan Angels and of course, Colt Cabana... another Dark Order wave, perhaps?). Here is the Dark Order in all their glory. We can see the very eloquent Evil Uno about to cut a promo, John Silver distracting everybody, Anna Jay corpsing and of course, Brodie Lee with the rolls of paper. As hilarious as they can be, they can definitely handle their own in the ring. Looking forward to more of them, including, hopefully, a three pack with Hangman Adam Page, with their Dark Order/cowboy outfits. More news at 11:00... Join the Dark Order!
  11. These days, it seems that the Marvel Legends action figures get revealed/leaked long before the movie is even ready. You might have seen during the weekend pictures of the Thor: Love and Thunder wave, which some have started to find at their local Walmarts, while we still haven't even seen a trailer for that movie. Well, today, we have even better for you: the wave after the wave after that one! Since they are still working on the special effects, the wave will be the actors in their motion capture suits! That new wave will include Robert Downey Jr as Iron-man, Tom Holland as Spider-man, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Sean Gunn as Rocket and Krystian Godlewski, the polish actor that wore what would end up being Groot in the movie. The build-a-figure will be none other than Taika Waititi as Korg himself, and we've heard that a Deluxe Josh Brolin as Thanos figure should also be available (probably an exclusive). Which other mocap figure would you love to get? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... "Wait! The special effects aren't ready!"
  12. In the last few months, we've had an abundance of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Party Wagon (aka Turtle Van). Playmates re-issued the 1989 version of the Turtle Party Wagon, Super7 opened the pre-orders for their own version of it to go with their TMNT Ultimates figure line, a third party brand came up with their own, and this week, NECA revealed their version of the Cartoon Turtle Van, for their line of Cartoon TMNT (pre-orders are now open, and a payment plan is available, in case NECA already made you spend a ton of money on turtles this month). We, at ToyFarce, would like to point out that Playmates also re-issued the Turtle Blimp recently. Just saying. Not implying anything... but if any of those brands wanted to give it a shot, that would be ok with us. Definitely. More news at 11:00... "Radical Ride!" *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  13. Yeah, I have the Okada from that first NJPW wave, and it was definitely a disappointment. I completely agree on the accessories and will even add that the packaging is really great on those lines. Basically, those figures are great on every other aspects, except the figures themselves
  14. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! ALWAYZ READY! This week, we're having a look at the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast Ultimates figures of Matt Cardona and Brian Myers from Super7. In a nutshell, Matt Cardona and Brian Myers are two professional wrestlers that you might have seen in WWE, AEW, Impact, GCW or several other companies, that also happen to be huge toy collectors. They have a podcast together where they talk about toys every week, and Super 7 did action figures of them from that podcast. Basically, imagine your favorite toy collector/reviewer, who also happens to be a pro wrestler, getting his own action figure. The packaging has always been one of the Super7's strong suit, so the unboxing experience is definitely nice. First, the figure have their own shipper boxes. Then, there is a nice sleeve, complete with a wrestling belt wrapping it. Then the boxes themselves, with a ring deco on the front, and all the different heads and accessories displayed nicely. First off, Matt Cardona (formerly known as Zack Ryder in the WWE), the Broski himself, the Michael Jordan of toy collecting (as he calls himself). His figure comes with 3 additional headsculpts, extra hands, a Major Wrestling Figure Podcast microphone, dog tags, Cardona dollar bills and the best one: his own action figure. Yep, the action figure also has an action figure of himself! How meta! The figure in itself is ok, but the likeness could definitely be better, and the Super7 trademarked shiny plastic could use a coat of matte paint. Those figures also have the same dreaded ab-crunch that the NJPW figures also had, which is not very pretty to look at, at least on the figures that are shirtless (more on that later). Also, fun fact, the pointing finger hand is also holding an extra finger (I believe Matt explained in the podcast that it was due to tooling complications). "Got your nose!" Brian Myers (formerly known as Curt Hawkins), the Most Professional Wrestler figure also comes with a ton of accessories: 3 additional headsculpts, extra hands, his entrance facemask, a Major Wrestling Figure Podcast microphone, dog tags and his own action figure as well. Honestly, give me more action figures that come with their own action figures. This is pretty fun! Brian Myers likeness is... not great. Some of the headsculpts look like it's Odo from Star Trek: Deep Space 9 mid-transformation into Brian Myers (see pic!). Mattel's $20 bucks WWE Elite figure of Curt Hawkins did a way better job. 2 of the headsculpts have the hair glued on which does not look great. It's sad to say, but it's a good thing he comes with a face mask... Also, the ab-crunch articulation doesn't look as bad as on Matt Cardona since he's wearing a dark blue singlet. All in all (aka the bottom line), those figures are ok, but not worth the price tag ($45,99 each). I feel like if they were $10-15 cheaper, they'd probably be a bit more attractive, even if I understand that Super7 is a smaller company and does need to charge us a bit more. More news at 11:00... ALWAAAAYS READYYYY !
  15. We're fresh off Wrestlemania weekend, and boy, oh boy, have we been sports-entertained! Stone Cold Steve Austin had a match! Johnny Knoxville used all sorts of tricks against Sami Zayn! Pat McAfee got stunned! We saw Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns for the 49th time, but this time, it was stupendous (If I never hear the word 'stupendous' again, it will be too soon.). And also, Cody Rhodes came back to the WWE, after being one of the founding members of AEW! After hearing weeks of other reasons and rumors, ToyFarce investigated within the toy industry and found out the real reason behind Cody's defection: There was not enough AEW Cody Rhodes figures! "They only released about 12 or 13 Cody Rhodes figures (including 2 that have not yet been released) since the first wave of AEW Unrivaled figures, which came out in late 2020. That is about one Cody figure every 1,5 months. That is not enough." Cody Rhodes said, as reported by our source. "With WWE and Mattel, I hope to have a new figure announced every few weeks." AEW fans were obviously deeply saddened that there won't be more Cody figures released. Fans loved to see a new Cody Rhodes figure announced in every wave. More news at 11:00... 16. Was there something supposed to happen today? What's the date, again? Anyway... If you are familiar with Jay C's Toy News International Youtube channel, you've probably seen a white and grey ball of fur appear from time to time during the news or the livestreams. That would be Salome, Jay C's cat. After months of trying to get in touch with her, ToyFarce finally managed to secure an exclusive interview on this website to understand the intentions behind the cameos. ToyFarce: Salome, thank you for this interview. Could you please say a few words to see if the cat translator works correctly? Salome: Meow. Meow? Meo...two, one, two, is it working? ToyFarce: Perfect! So... over the years, we have seen you appear in numerous videos. We never know where, and we never know when, but you always have impeccable timing with those cameos. What is the drive behind your appearances during Jay C's toy news videos? Salome: Well, as a cat, I know that I am what people on the internet want to see. So, to help out my owner Jay get more views, I pick some episodes and do cameos here and there, so that people would keep watching, in anticipation to see me again in the next one. ToyFarce: Well, a lot of people also do come for the toy news and to hear Jay's thoughts about various subjects... Salome: Some do yes, but most watch those videos to see if I would appear. ToyFarce: Alright. Which was your favorite cameo? Salome: The Holiday special from 2020 was a great one. I stayed on camera for most of the videos, and even took a nap while Jay was talking about action figures. Nearly 14 minutes of me in that video! I am sometimes way too generous... More news at 11:00... Meow.
  17. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! And now, for something completely different... This week, we're having a look at the 2 different sets of Kitten Arsenal weapons from Momotaro Toys. The first time I saw a picture of the first set, I couldn't believe it. Cats used as weapons? What japanese nonsense is this? I need 10 of them! I got the first set last year, and the second set came out a few weeks ago. The first set included 6 different weapons, all in the form of a cat: a Sniper riffle cat (complete with a cup for the scope), a Tommy gun cat (with a can of tuna for the ammo magazine), a Crossbow cat, a Sword cat (holding a fish!), Boxing gloves kittens and a 4-cat rocket launcher (in a cardboard box). Yep. That's for real. I took a few figures out to help showcase the gloriousness of these awesome weapons. The second set also included 6 different cat-weapons: A Bazooka cat (cat scratching post), a Machine gun cat (cat in a paper bag, with its bowl as the magazine), a Cat bow (stretching cat), Nunchucks/Thor's hammer with effect, a Cape with a Cat Collar and an Oxygen tank with mask (with a cat sleeping in the tank). What cat-weapons would you like to see next? Or what other animals would make great weapons? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... Pick up your cat and open fire!
  18. It was a mini game for the computer that was really bad. There's been MIB toy line for the first movie (Galoob) and the third one (Jakks Pacific), + one sixth figures from Enterbay.
  19. You've probably heard about it by now, the 94th Academy Awards ceremony was last night. Movies were celebrated, actors and actresses were recognized for their work, and it was a great ceremony for everyone involved... Oh yeah, and Will Smith slapped Chris Rock. What we, at ToyFarce, didn't expect, was that that slap would have an effect on the prices of all Will Smith action figures! Overnight, the ebay prices of all the older Will Smith action figures nearly tripled, as thousands of toy collectors suddenly needed a Will Smith figure to have him slap around other figures on their toy displays or in their upcoming toy photo shoots. Let it be a slap on the wrist for all the naysayers that said that the Deadshot figures from Suicide Squad would never sell! More news at 11:00... No, not the face! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  20. We are on Week 2 of the Target's Haul-A-Thon, and on Day 2 of the Walmart Collector Con, where you can find some nice brand new exclusive action figures when visiting those superstores, or you can also order online and inevitably get your order cancelled! Yay! Feeling left out, Toys'R'Us decided to join on all the fun, and for their imminent 8th (or was it 9th?) comeback, Geoffrey the Giraffe's brand will hold the first 'Collector-A-Thon Con', right at the beginning of April (because why would they let our wallets get some rest, right?) Seeing the state of things for Toys'R'Us these days (the Macy's sections, the NJ store...), they'll probably have a couple of exclusives, like some Hasbro Avengers: Mech Strike products (Hulk in a mechsuit?), or Mattel WWE figures from wrestlers that were released from the WWE years ago! Exciting! More news at 11:00... (or was it 9?) *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  21. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at Plunderlings! And Hatchlings! On the heels of their second Kickstarter campaign reaching its goal, with over 23 days to go (more on that later), I felt that it was a perfect time to revisit the Plunderlings, since I got a few more since the first review (which can be found here), but I also got Hatchlings! So What are 'Plunderlings', you ask? Lone Coconut's website says "A little bit goblin, a little bit pirate, united with infectious charm. These greedy adorable pirates travel from island to island looking for treasure and mischief". In a nutshell, they're super fun little goblin-like figures that took the toy collecting world by storm last year, after a first successful Kickstarter campaign. Full disclosure, I really love them. They were at the top of my 'Top 10' list for 2021, along with 'Lone Coconut' as the 'brand of the year' for me. What makes them great? Let's check it out. First, the packaging is really fun. They are little crates, with windows in the front and at the top. There are 2 levels of clamshell for the extra heads and accessories behind the figure, and they even have cardboard ears to add to the box, for fun. When was the last time the packaging of a toy was this fun? Lone Coconut has a great concept with those figures, because they technically all use most of the same sculpts, but it's the colors and accessories that give each character their personality. Some have no pants, some have trunks and some have more clothes (pants, vests, capes...). They all come with 2 extra heads (smiling and mouth open), and extra hands. I added Zombone and Captain Ash to my Plunderlings crew: Zombone is all white, with trunks, has a bone mask and a bone club; Captain Ash has a vest and pants, a top hat, a sword and a scope. The various accessories for the head use a magnet to stay in place. But what to do with all those extra accessories? Well, Lone Coconut also has struck gold with the concept of Hatchlings: Smaller bodies, with less articulations (only the arms), on which you can put the extra heads and hands, so that you can display everything that was in the box. Isn't that ingenious? There you go! The second Kickstarter campaign by Lone Coconut will add Plunderlongs (taller, leaner, angrier version of the Plunderlings), and Plunderstrongs (big, muscular version) to the crew. The campaign reached its $100,000 goal a couple of days ago, but there are still plenty more to unlock! For more info or if you want to get some Plunderlongs or Plunderstrongs, check the Kickstarter page here! Some of the Plunderlings from the first wave can still be found on BigBadToyStore. 22. We've all done that. You've had a few drinks, you start browsing Amazon or Big Bad Toy Store, you end up adding a few items in your shopping cart, and the next thing you know, you receive a present from your drunk self a few days later. "Oh well... Thanks, drunk me!". Now this is the part where it gets dangerous: If you are a Star Wars collector, and want to treat yourself with a few Black Series items, you might want to be careful: For example, during your late night browsing, you might stumble upon an ad for a Black Series Dominator... Here is what you think it is: Here is what it actually is: Be careful out there! There is indeed a camper and caravan manufacturer called 'Black Series'. This was a public service announcement by ToyFarce. More news at 11:00... "I knew it was too good to be true!" *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  23. Over the last few days, Mattel has been posting some great reveals about upcoming Masters of the Universe-related figures. The reveals all took the same shape, with a 'curtain reveal' graphic, and big yellow text at the top. A good time to remind folks that Mattel is a multi-million dollar company... We, at ToyFarce, got a little suspicious about it on the third day. Usually, one day of reveal is nice, a surprise reveal on the second day is great, but three days in a row? Outside of ToyFair or any big event? There had to be something fishy going on. We contacted one of our sources at Mattel, who confirmed to us that there is an issue with the "reveal machine", that kept creating reveal graphics, even when no one asked. The problem has now been fixed, and hopefully, there will not be more reveals for a while, unless it is on purpose. More news at 11:00...
