  1. "Back in the days, 2-3 weeks ago, it was harder for us collectors. We had to go and check multiple stores before striking gold." Those are the words of a disgruntled collector who had to go through 14 stores to find the items he wanted, back when the Target Haulathon hadn't even been announced yet... ToyFarce investigated. We sat down with Stephen, a collector who visited multiple Target stores over several states in order to find the new NECA items that would soon be revealed as part of the Target Haulathon event. "Back then, I was a hero to my peers. I took personal time off from work to go and visit several Targets, multiple times a week, and when I started to find the NECA TMNT Punk Turtles, or the two-packs, people couldn't believe their eyes. I worked hard for this." The items in question were the NECA action figures from the Target Haulathon event, which started to pop up at stores weeks before the event was even announced, due to the inability of Target to keep items in the back until the event actually started. For weeks, collectors were victims of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) and were anxious to get the new items. A few weeks later, Target and NECA announced that the figures would be easily available online, with drops every friday on their website (Kudos to them for that!) "I was one of the first to get some of those figures, and people respected me. Now, anybody with a Target account can order them on their phone while in the bathroom..." added Stephen. 2. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means: ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the Professor Perry two-pack from TMNT 2: Secret of the Ooze by NECA, which is exclusive to the NECA Store. NECA had revealed the figures in conventions last summer, but we didn't know how this was going to come out: Single releases? Two-packs with other figures (like foot soldiers or something)? Well, no. NECA bundled both versions of Professor Jordan Perry together, which in the end is a pretty smart move: You get both versions in one go, no need to hunt for 2 figures. Professor Jordan Perry, as portrayed by the late David Warner, is a scientist who is in charge of Techno Global Research Industries (T.G.R.I.), whose purpose is to dispose of the ooze. He is then captured by the Foot Clan and forced to create monsters for Shredder. After helping create Tokka and Rahzar, he is rescued by the turtles and help them create an antidote for the monsters. (This is a quick summary for a movie I haven't seen in years, apologies if inaccurate!). The two-pack includes 2 versions of Professor Perry, in his lab coat and in his hazmat suit (which is seen in a single scene in the movie). He comes with extra hands, a ton of lab equipment, a hard hat and notepad for the hazmat suit version, 2 cannisters of Ooze, and glasses for both figures. Yes, the glasses are removable, which is a nightmare. I have never liked figures that have removable glasses because they fall off ALL THE TIME. The glasses managed to stay put on one of the figures, but keep falling on the lab coat version. I might just glue them. The likeness is very good. I would add 'surprisingly' but NECA has always done a good job, but it seems they put some extra care into those ones. This is a fun two-pack for the completists, and an easy pass for others. I said in a previous TMNT 2: Secret of the Ooze figures review that as long as NECA makes figures from the TMNT movies, I'll get them, deep cuts and all, and I kept my word. More news at 11:00... "Oh no! This not good! Their burping is ##$%$#ing the anti-mutagenic process!"
  3. Last week, ToyFarce sat down with Frederick Spicerack, the inventor of the 3-tier spice rack, to talk about how his invention is more and more being used by toy collector on their shelves, in order to improve their display. Unfortunately, it seems he wasn't aware of that... About the 3-tier spice rack: "It is a great feeling to know that my invention helped countless numbers of people have a place for their spices, jars and bottles of oils in their kitchen, displayed in a way that they can see what they need quickly when they are cooking. You need a bit of olive oil or a bit of black pepper? Just look at your 3-tier spice rack, with a quick glance, you can see what's there, where it is, and easily grab it. Some people even put jars of mustard on it! It's marvellous." About the design: "I decided to go with plain white, but also added grey non-slip rubber on the steps, so that your spices will remain in place. It was worth going the extra mile for this." After learning that collectors buy them to display action figures: "What? But... they're for spices! That doesn't make any sense... Do they put toys on them next to their spices then? No? Do they put toys on them, in order to reserve a spot for the spices later, then? This is not what this is intended for... I should have listened to the inventor of the Detolf glass cabinet... He had warned me about this..." We, at ToyFarce, personally prefer using clear acrylic steps for our figures, just in case Mister Spicerack decides to implement changes to his invention that would prevent toys to be displayed on them. More news at 11:00... "Do they at least display those toys on it in their kitchen?"
  4. After "Pre-Sold out" figures, and some online stores having "Pre-order sold out" items, McFarlane Toys keeps pushing the envelope for the toy industry, by introducing a brand new ground-breaking concept: the "Sold out crowdfunding campaign"! ToyFarce investigated... Earlier this week, McFarlane Toys announced that a 24" statue of Spawn and Batman would be available through a new crowdfunding campaign system called the McFarlane Toys Collector's Club Drawing Board. A gorgeous statue, which depicts the cover of the Spawn/Batman comic book from 1994. Yesterday, the McFarlane Toys Collector's Club Drawing Board website went live, and... we had some questions. A crowdfunding campaign, with a limited number of items? So... isn't that just a normal sale then? Also, there were 4 different rewards tiers (one with the statue only, one with statue and comics, one with statue and signed comics, and one with statue and action figures 2-pack), but they were all at the same price of $500... Basically, a normal sale with first come, first served rewards? The website also showed the numbers in the negative in the first hours, making it even more confusing. Needless to say, the campaign was funded really fast (15 minutes according to McFarlane Toys), and all 500 units have now been sold. "We were already used to items that sell out in seconds, but we had never seen crowdfunding campaigns that sell out in minutes. Truly avant-garde, bleeding edge stuff!" There are still 24 days to go for the crowdfunding campaign, which is, once again, already sold out. More info on the McFarlane Toys Collector's Club Drawing Board website! More news at 11:00... The next innovation will probably be the "Sold out reveal" - you heard it here first! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  5. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means: ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the 1/6 scale figure of the Phantasm from the Batman: Mask of the Phantasm movie by Mondo! More precisely, the Timed edition which was available for a limited time on Mondo's website, that has some great exclusive accessories, including the whole top half of another figure! Did Mondo spoil the big twist of the movie for a second time... 31 years after Kenner did? *gasp* Batman: Mask of the Phantasm came out in 1993 and was the first movie inspired by Batman: The Animated Series. To this day, it is still considered one of the best Batman movies and is at the top of the list of many Batman fans. The movie included the first appearance of the Phantasm, a brand new villain who is getting rid of gangsters who are all linked together by a death in the past, while Bruce Wayne rekindles a flame with an old girlfriend, Andrea Beaumont. The movie had been notoriously spoiled when it came out by Kenner, who had released the action figures of the movie, and the Phantasm figure included Andrea's identity. The Phantasm figure by Mondo includes 2 extra hands, an extra blade with acid effects, a hand with a nice twirling smoke effect, and a stand. The Limited edition included an extra hood, the whole top half of Andrea Beaumont and a smoke effect that attaches nicely to the stand. Once again, a gorgeous figure by Mondo. The paint and sculpt are amazing, huge shout out to Alex Brewer (@fanplasticfour) and Tom Rozejowski (@zelu1984) and the rest of the team behind this figure. The cel shading is discreet, yet very nice (take notes, McFarlane Toys!). The extra hands with effects are great. The figure is a bit top heavy with the big cape but since the stand had a nice smoke effect hiding it, I'll be using that (I usually try not to use the stands on those figures, unless absolutely necessary, to save some space)! The next figure revealed by Mondo is Bane, which will come with an extra 'hulked-out' torso (probably the limited edition again). More news at 11:00... Your Angel of Death awaits... (Whoa! never thought Andrea was Slayer fan!)
  6. It's the ToyFarce after Wrestlemania! Not as popular as the Raw after Wrestlemania, but still up there for at least 3 people! The Showcase of the Immortals took place this weekend, and what a show it was! We are still feeling the afterglow of the event, and ToyFarce got the scoop that, immediately after Cody Rhodes finished the story, there was a spike in the sales of the new DC Multiverse Mister Zsasz (Gold Label). Could it be that fans, in their excitement, mistook the Batman villain for the American Nightmare? ToyFarce investigated... "It was all planned!" said an anonymous source, who works for McFarlane Toys. "The design of the figure, the announcement the day after Monday Night Raw, the figure being available for pre-order during Wrestlemania week, so that the picture keep floating on everyone's social media feeds, so that when Cody wins, in the euphoria of the moment, they'd pre-order one... It's a bit like those direct-to-DVD movies that have a title close enough to the big blockbusters, so that people get confused and buy it, thinking it's the real deal!" Of course, we are aware that this DC Multiverse Mister Zsasz (Gold Label) figure represents the classic design from the comic books drawn by Norm Breyfogle, which can be an odd choice, but a welcome deep cut for Batman fans (his eyes, though!). "I just hope there will be a chase version, with the American Nightmare logo he has tattooed in his neck tattooed all over his body, instead of the tally marks!" said a collector who's happy to get a 7" Cody Rhodes figure. More news at 11:00... Adrenaline, in my soul, Mister Zsasz is Cody Rhodes! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  7. A couple of weeks ago, images of "Remastered" TMNT figures surfaced on the internet, and speculation ran wild: Could this be the TMNT line getting the 'MOTU Origins' treatment, with updated articulations? Well... Pixel Dan received a high resolution picture of those figures, and we certainly have more questions than answers now. One collector, who suffers from trypophobia, the irrational fear of repetitive clusters of holes/bump was certainly not happy with the choices made for the design... ToyFarce investigated. According to Wikipedia, "Trypophobia is an aversion to the sight of repetitive patterns or clusters of small holes or bumps". If you feel queasy when looking at honeycombs, this might be the reason why! Based on the hi-res picture that Pixel Dan got, it seems that those turtles are very bumpy, clearly putting an emphasis on the 'Teenage' part of 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle', with their skin riddled with acne and bumps. "I can't even look at them", said Matt, the TMNT collector with trypophobia who had barely gotten over the design of the TMNT Movie Star figures from 1992. "When I saw the picture, my first instinct was to throw my phone away." Also, the comments "Leo looks like a pickle" and "Ribbed, but not for our pleasure" seen on the post won the internet that day. More news at 11:00... Because sometimes, you also learn stuff with ToyFarce! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  8. It's Wednesday and you know what that means: ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the new Biker Mice from Mars action figures by the Nacelle Company. Oh, the nostalgia! I remember having the old Galoob figures as a kid, along with the bikes and a couple of villains! The Nacelle Company brought the Biker Mice from Mars back, and they're pretty great! The Galoob inspired logo on the packaging First off, Throttle, the leader, which I remember as being the 'Leonardo' of the gang. The figure comes with 2 extra heads (including one with helmet), 2 extra pairs of hands, a blaster, a hot dog and the same weapon the figure from the 90's came with, a sprocket launcher with 3 sprockets. I love when brands do that, NECA did the same thing with their Gargoyles figures, which included new versions of the accessories the 90s toys had, as a 'nostalgia weapon'. The 3 head sculpts look great, the glasses are removable on both the 'non-helmeted' ones. Modo, the Cyborg mouse, comes 2 extra heads (one with helmet), 2 extra pairs of hands, a blaster, a hot dog and his 'nostalgia weapon', the rocket gun (minus the 'real firing' action!). Modo is also way taller than the other 2 figures, as he was in the cartoon, which is a nice detail. Mine had a bit of a QC issue and didn't come with all the hands (closed fist ones missing), but it's already being sorted out (Thanks, The Nacelle Company!). Vinnie, the mouse with a cool attitude, is the smallest of the trio. Vinnie also comes with 2 extra heads (and guess what: One has a helmet!), 2 extra pairs of hands, a blaster, a hot dog, and his 'nostalgia weapons': a crowbar (with a handle in the weirdest place), and a grip claw. I also had a QC problem with Vinnie, which had a paint smear on one of the sculpts, but it's also being taken care of. Overall, those figures are pretty great. They move nicely, with decent articulations, they really are modern upgrades of the old toys and look exactly as if they came right out of the cartoon. The accessories are fun callbacks from the old ones, and for mice that eat only hot dogs, they are pretty jacked, with chiseled abs! Their bikes are scheduled for later this year, and I can't wait to get them to complete the look. In the meantime, they'll be Biker Mice from Mars... on foot! The Nacelle Company has an ongoing Kickstarter (a bit less than 48h at time of writing), to make action figures from The Expanse series. Let's get that Rocinante chair! More info can be found here. More news at 11:00... Biker Mice from Mars! Biker Mice from Mars! Biker Mice from Mars! (actual lyrics of the intro)
  9. "Emergency Medical Hologram: Please state the nature of the medical emergency." Robert Picardo is a treasure. I only asked him to make a small joke about Greta and how the wedding was, and he just improvised the whole thing, in character from Gremlins 2. Amazing.
  10. I'd love that! The Firefly Legacy Collection figures from Funko were such a let down... My Captain Reynolds lost a hand, because I tried to move it... Silly me.
  11. Happy April Fools' Day, everyone! Today is a good day to be careful about what you hear, see or read (as opposed to every other day, where it would be just common sense), since lots of people are going to try to prank you! Fake announcements, jokes, it's all fair game today. Since we, at ToyFarce, do that all year long, we thought it would be fun to reminisce on the times where we ended up telling real news! After all, even a broken clock can be right twice a day! WEDDING DRESS GRETA October 2020 - After NECA announced the first Greta figure from Gremlins 2, we reported that there would be another version of her, in her gorgeous wedding dress coming soon. We even added a video of actor extraordinaire Robert Picardo, who gave us a lovely, hilarious anecdote about their wedding. Fast forward to SDCC 2022, and the Ultimate Wedding Dress Greta was revealed. STREET SHARKS... SORT OF. April 2020 - After the success of the McFarlane Toys Spawn Kickstarter, we got the scoop that since toys from the 90s seemed to do well on Kickstarter, the Street Sharks were about to make a comeback as well. Lo and behold, a year later, in August 2021, Mattel Creations announced a crowdfunded campaign for ... the original concept art of the Street Sharks... AND THE CROWD WENT MILD. Thankfully, this year, they are making a real comeback! STAR WARS: THE BLACK SERIES - HALLOWEEN EDITION October 2020 - The Star Wars: The Black Series Holiday Edition figures had just been announced for the following Christmas, but we realized that there was still Halloween before that, and decided that we should get Star Wars: The Black Series Halloween Edition figures too. Then, in 2022, we finally got them. Crossing fingers for the Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving, St Patrick and Easter ones we mentioned too! DC MULTIVERSE BATMAN AND ROBIN & BATMAN FOREVER January 2021 - Our crowned achievement. In early 2021, not even a year in to the brand new McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse line, we unveiled upcoming plans to do action figures from everyone's favorite Batman movies, Batman Forever and Batman and Robin, both directed by Joel Schumacher. 3 years later, we proudly reviewed the DC Multiverse Batman and Robin wave that had just come out. And a few days ago, McFarlane Toys revealed a Batman Forever wave. We're not saying that we're taking full credit for those DC Multiverse wave existing, but still... 12. Happy Easter weekend, everyone! As is tradition, when there is a holiday on the horizon, we, at ToyFarce, bring you the exclusive scoop about upcoming Star Wars: The Black Series Holiday Edition figures! After the Halloween (we did it first!), Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving and St Patrick editions, we proudly present to you the new Easter edition figures! The Star Wars: The Black Series Easter Edition wave will have 3 figures: A chocolate bunny-themed Clone Trooper, along with chocolate eggs he gathered during his egghunt training, a pastel pink wookie, complete with bunny ears and a chocolate Porg (that one was too easy!) and a pastel-colored First Order Stormtrooper with a mouse droid carrying a basket full of eggs! Those figures, which should have been available right before Easter, should be available around the next one, or will probably pop up at a store at Frank and Sons in California randomly, long before they're even announced (it did happen once!) More news at 11:00... Wishing you all an egg-citing Easter! (Thanks folks, I'll be here all weekend...)
  13. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the sixth wave of The Lord of the Rings figures by Diamond Select Toys, which includes the true hero of the Lord of the Rings saga, Samwise Gamgee and the lord of Isengard, Saruman. (Sadly, Sam does not come with a potato accessory...) The Lord of the Rings line from DST is a line of 7" figures based on the movies. There are 6 waves of 2 figures (the first 3 waves included a beautiful 13" build-a-figure Sauron) and a deluxe set with Gollum. The figures are designed by Eamon O'Donoghue and sculpted by Gentle Giant Studios. Samwise the Brave comes with 5 extra hands (including one with phial), his elven cloak, backpack and bag (that hobbit does not travel light!), his sword and scabbard, a shining sword (orcs nearby!), and his salt box. The likeness is pretty ok, we can definitely see Sean Astin in there. At first I thought it would be impossible to have the cape on with the backpack at the same time, but it turns out we can. It's also nice to have the option of removing all and having Sam in 'normal' attire. All he's missing is some potatoes! Saruman the white is another of those 'traffic cone' kind of figures, with the long plastic dress hindering all sorts of movement from the waist down (while having the legs articulated inside, so that it can easily go off balance when you try to stand him up... fun!). Saruman comes with a few extra hands, his staff, the Palantir orb (with hand to hold it) and interchangeable arms. Those interchangeable arms are actually pretty great, and enable the figure to pose with his arms bent (to hold staff or orb). Now, I kinda wish we had those interchangeable arms for Gandalf or the Nazgul, because they do look a bit weird with the long sleeves standing straight when bending their arms... The likeness is a bit less accurate than Sam, but there's definitely a bit of Christopher Lee in it. The next wave (wave 7) will have Merry Brandybuck and Pippin Took, which makes it a Hobbit wave. A huge thank you to Diamond Select Toys for those figures! More news at 11:00... "PO-TA-TOES! Boil em, mash em, stick em in a stew!"
  14. Another year, another haulathon prematurely spoiled by Target, with new action figures that haven't even been announced yet already appearing in some stores around the country. Scalpers are already buying the new sets and putting them on ebay, collectors in Facebook groups are showing severe symptoms of FOMO, which can only mean one thing: Spring has arrived! ToyFarce investigated... After 3 or 4 years of the exact same thing happening before every Haulathon (products showing up on shelves weeks before the event is even announced), we sat down with some experts to explain what the cause is: "The Target Haulathon seems to always happen around March. You know what also happen during that time? We set the clocks an hour forward (or "lose" an hour), for Daylight Saving Time or DST (not to be confused with Diamond Select Toys). During the first few weeks of Daylight Saving Time, people are usually tired, less productive and make more mistakes, such as putting products from an upcoming event too early on the shelves! The Target employees probably got confused about how much time they did 'spring forward', and thought it was already time for the event." That's right, folks. It was DST all along! (again, not to be confused with Diamond Select Toys). Now you know, and you know what they say about knowing: it's half the battle (what's the other half?!). What are you going to (try to) grab during the Target Haulathon? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... Spring forward for Target Haulathon! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  15. First, the actual CM Punk came back to the WWE at Survivor Series, got injured at the Royal Rumble and will have to miss Wrestlemania. Then, his first figure since his return to WWE got announced for March 22nd, then got injured and delayed until April 7th. If that's not toys imitating life imitating art, I don't know what is. ToyFarce investigated... CM Punk returned to WWE as a surprise at the end of Survivor Series in late November, and hell froze over. After celebrating his third return to pro wrestling in 3 years, CM Punk unfortunately got an injury on his triceps during the Royal Rumble, and will be forced to miss Wrestlemania this year. Soon after that, Mattel announced a CM Punk returns figure, as part of their Mattel Creations Revealed virtual event, which was originally planned for March 22nd. The figure has the same outfit CM Punk wore during his return, a very flamboyant white t-shirt and jeans. Unfortunately, the action figure also had a problem with its triceps (an issue with the mold at the factory, we are told), and ended up being delayed to April 7th, will be the second day of Wrestlemania, which the figure nearly missed as well. More news at 11:00... Look in my eyes, what do you see? A delayed figure, sadly. *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  16. It's Wednesday and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the latest figures from the TMNT x Universal Monsters line, Leonardo as the Creature from the Black Lagoon and Raphael as Wolf man! 2 more home-runs for that fantastic line, NECA keeps killing it with those mash-ups! Leonardo as the Creature from the Black Lagoon looks awesome, with tons of fun 'fish-related' details and accessories. Leo comes with 4 extra hands, 2 harpoon katanas (one has a fish on it!), an attachable wrist bone blade, and a pet turtle. The sculpt and paint of that figure are amazing. I loved the Creature from the Black Lagoon figure from the normal Universal Monsters line, but this is even better. There are also additional tiny hooks and bits to attach to the net that is around its shell (which has fish skeletons all over it). Raphael as Wolf Man (I keep wanting to write 'the Wolf Man' but the box says 'Wolf Man') is also a fun figure. Raph comes with an extra head sculpt, 4 extra hands, his sais which are made out of a bone, and parts of the wolf head cane (great idea!), and an animal trap. Out of all the figures from that line, I thought this one felt a bit 'simple', with not a lot to offer in terms of design, but I'm glad i was wrong. The figure looks awesome, both head sculpts are nice and the details of the torn clothes over the shell are great. Those 2 figures have been the last to come out, and the last ones announced, so right now, we do not know if the line will continue or not. Hopefully, we get a few more (the rule of 4, we need all 4 turtles in that second 'wave', plus we didn't get a vampire yet!) but if it's over, well, it was a hell of a ride. More news at 11:00... Hoooowwwwwl-abunga!
  17. This week, Mattel Creations will hold their REVEALED virtual event, a "new event that gives you insider access to Mattel's designers and creators. Join for concept-to-reality deep dives on all-new collectibles from your favorite brands"... which sounds like fun! Collectors worldwide are speculating that Mattel might announce their next Mattel Creations crowdfunded item. Here are some items that *might* be announced at the event! 18. Walmart Collector Con started yesterday, and with it came confusion, chaos and lots of pre-orders! The event, scheduled over 2 days, failed to make that clear as hundreds of collectors took to social media on day 1 to show their discontent that they missed out on a pre-order for a figure... that wasn't up for pre-order yet! Also, NECA held a livestream on Walmart, and teased a new line of houseware, including a revolving tray and chairs?! CONFUSING SCHEDULE? "Did I miss it? - Available on the 15th at 7am - So... I missed it?" (Actual conversation witnessed on Twitter) For their Collector Con, Walmart first gave us a sneak peek on March 7th, showing all the figures that would be available at the event, on March 14th and 15th (you could already click on the items that you would want to buy to see the time when they would be available, but that's not important). The event started on the 14th at 7am PST, and confusion ensued. "Did I already miss the NECA Casey Jones?" asked a collector. "Wait, are the WWE figures already sold out?!" asked another. "It shows that it's unavailable, this is BULL***T!" tweeted a third one. It turns out that, as the schedule had mentioned, only half of the selected items would be available on the 14th, while the others would be available on the 15th. Additionally, a few of the NECA figures were going to be only available at 12pm EST on the 14th, during the NECA livestream on that same website (which was advertised at the top, with a countdown, mind you) and it was enough to confuse the community. "Half on Day 1 at 7am PST, a few more NECA at 12pm PST during a livestream, and the second half on Day 2 at 7am PST? I don't get it." NECA LIVESTREAM TEASES! Speaking of the NECA livestream, Blaine and Mike from NECA showed us the figures available during the event (the same ones that had been revealed during the sneak peek the week before). Ghostface Inferno! D&D 50th anniversary Warduke! Last Ronin Casey Jones! But wait... there's more! Some eagle eyed collector managed to see items that were displayed in the background, as a tease... Wait... ENHANCE! After doing simple regular stands, it looks like NECA is teasing doing revolving trays (or 'Lazy susans')! This one looks pretty neat, in black, and will allow you to have a 360° look at your figures! If it looks like a sewer cover from TMNT, it will sell out immediately! Wait... what? ENHANCE! Oh my god, YES! NECA is finally stepping into the chair territory!! The chairs were teased during the stream, as we could see Mike spin left and right on his (both directions?!), while Blaine seemed to sit comfortably. Bar stools from NECA? Sign me in! Rumors say they'll be adjustable! Oh yeah, there was also a Ultimate Silence of the Lambs box in the background. UPDATE: After some thorough journalism, we have managed to get the scoop on the chairs, and here is your first look at them! Special thanks to Blaine (@blainerthings) and Mike (@pooz_art) for the exclusive look! What did you think of Walmart Collector Con? Let us know in the comments! More news at 11:00... Just imagine... TMNT themed bar stools (Cartoon, Movie, Mirage and Last Ronin)! *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  19. Do check the anime, if you have the occasion, it's really good. The characters are all great.
  20. It's Wednesday, and you know what that means... ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the 3 latest Spy X Family figures from S.H.Figuarts. Spy X Family is a very popular manga/anime about a family who all have secrets: the father, Loid Forger, is an international spy who has to pretend to have a family for a mission, and ends up unknowingly adopting Anya, who's a telepath and can read minds, and "marrying" Yor, who's an elite assassin. A really fun anime, and I'm glad they did the alternate outfits for all figures. Loid Forger (Father of the Forger Family) is the 'civilian' look of Loid, when he's not on important missions and pretending to have a nice family. The figure comes with 3 different head/hair parts for different looks (one has the mask he uses when he plays 'bandit' with Anya, 5 different face plates, lots of extra hands, a newspaper, and a 'crossed arms' attachement for when it's time to be serious. A very fun figure, which compliment very well the previous Loid, in his spy outfit. Yor Forger (Mother of the Forger Family) is also the civilian look of Yor, when she's not busy assassinating targets (it's a weird family...). She has that classic red wool dress look from the series. She also comes with different head/hair parts (tied up hair or loose hair), 5 different face plates (including drunk Yor!), several hands, a different waist/legs piece so that she can sit down (ingenious!), a bottle of wine with a glass, with 2 different little 'wine' parts to put in the glass, to show that she had a sip or not (this is WILD!) . Just like the previous figure (in assassin outfit), she is quite difficult to pose because of her high heels preventing her from standing up, but it's manageable. A lot of fun technology with that figure, though, with the sitting legs and wine level thingies. Finally, Bond, the dog adopted for Anya, which comes with a special Anya that can sit down. Of course, this dog also had something special: he had been experimented on, and can see a few seconds into the future, which comes very handy when the family is in danger. The dog comes with a stand, and additional legs so that he can be in a sitting down pose. The extra Anya has 6 extra hands. Bond is a fun character in the show, and it's great to have him as a figure. His mouth is articulated, and he has a decent range of movement on the neck. More news at 11:00... Waku waku?!
  21. "Costumes, they are so important. Maybe the most important thing there is..." Last night, the 96th Academy Awards ceremony took place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. During the ceremony, host Jimmy Kimmel had prepared a bit about how it was the 50th anniversary of when a streaker ran across the stage, setting up a punchline which would have seen John Cena himself streaking across the stage. However, John Cena had cold feet (well, he was only wearing sandals after all) and ended up just giving the award in the nude. It didn't take long for Mattel to announced a new John Cena figure for their WWE Elite Hollywood collection! The new WWE Elite Hollywood John Cena as the Academy Awards Streaker will come with an extra set of hands, along with the Costume Design envelope which the Doctor of Thuganomics used to cover up. The figure should be available at the end of the month during the Mattel Creations REVEALED virtual fan event, which will take place on March 21st-22nd. In other news, Oppenheimer won a lot of awards, including 'Best picture, 'Best director', 'Best actor', 'Best supporting actor', 'Best original score', 'Best cinematography' and 'Best editing', while other amazing movies managed to snag the remaining Oscards (Poor Things, American Fiction, Godzilla Minus One and the latest Studio Ghibli film, The Boy and the Heron among others). Oh yeah, and MR FREEZE AND THE PENGUIN CALLED OUT BATMAN! THAT WAS AWESOME! More news at 11:00... We definitely could see him... *ToyFarce News is parody news for laughs and not meant to be taken seriously!
  22. "Do you have any idea how much the rent for a laboratory in New York costs? 300 bucks is NOTHING!" said a member of the scientific community from New York. Last tuesday, on "Turtle tuesday", NECA put their new sewer diorama up for pre-order: Donatello's laboratory. The price point ($299.99) led to a lot of complaints from the toy community (so basically, a regular day). One community that didn't have an issue with it is the scientific community, who has been victim of the high prices of rental of laboratories in New York City for years. ToyFarce investigated... "When a colleague told me that we could get a fully equipped lab for under $300, I thought he was going mad!" said Professor Stockman (no relation). "The price of a lab is New York is outrageous! It's at least 20 times that price, and you only rent it for a few days! If you can get a fully equipped laboratory for $299.99, go for it! That's a steal!" Another professor (Professor Perry, no relation either) told us that it was also a great experiment, showing to toy collectors how expensive laboratory space and equipment can cost. "It's a good laboratory, even! Sure, it could use a bit more laboratory glassware, as there are no beakers or flasks present on the pictures, but the space only should cost way more than that! I'm also 98% sure it doesn't really follow any laboratory safety regulations, but at that price, who cares?" "You see, one side has a lot of nice painted details on the lab equipment, while the other side doesn't. Isn't it fascinating?" Are you getting Donatello's lab? Let us know in the comments!
