  1. Just finished my latest Superman Animated Maquette Kyle Rayner... http://mywebpages.comcast.net/cjoefish/STA...ALargeFront.JPG http://mywebpages.comcast.net/cjoefish/STA...SALargeBack.JPG http://mywebpages.comcast.net/cjoefish/STA...ontLeftSide.JPG http://mywebpages.comcast.net/cjoefish/STA...ntRightSide.JPG I think I told everyone I was scupting Hal Jordan, but Kyle Rayner was the Green Lantern who made an appearance in the Superman Animated Series flying Hal Jordan's Plane.... But hey, I never claimed to be a Green Lantern aficionado. Next up are the following... Superman Animated Flash, Bizarro, and Livewire... And I'm thinking of doing a Bruce Timm styled Spiderman. I may also still sculpt a JLU Hal Jordan based on his appearance in the episode The once and future thing Part 2. CJoeFish
  2. Just Finished my latest Maquette or Parasite: http://home.comcast.net/~cjoefish/STASMaqu...eFrontLarge.JPG I had some problems photographing Parasite with my Canon Digital Camera... the magenta color is so overpowering that the digital camera pixelizes in a weird way... If anyone has a suggestion and knows what I'm talking about, please shoot me an e-mail. The photograph I took does not do the maquette justice. I almost have Hal Jordan Completed and I'm also working on Bizarro at the same time. I was working on Baby Doll from the Batman Animated show but put her on hold because I wanted to kick out a bunch of Superman Maquettes for the 2009 SDCC. I also Finished sketches of Aaron Eckhart as Two-face and Cillian Murphy as Scarecrow sketches. You can also check them out below. http://home.comcast.net/~cjoefish/Sketches...FaceLargewm.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~cjoefish/Sketches...CrowLargewm.jpg Cory
  3. Here are the pictures of my new Superman Animated Darkseid Maquette... http://home.comcast.net/~cjoefish/STASMaqu...dFrontLarge.JPG http://home.comcast.net/~cjoefish/STASMaqu...idBackLarge.JPG http://home.comcast.net/~cjoefish/STASMaqu...LeftSideBig.JPG http://home.comcast.net/~cjoefish/STASMaqu...ightSideBig.JPG In case you are wondering, he is 17.25 inches tall. Of course he looks better in person... my digital camera still is not perfect. If you want to see him in person, I will have him at the 2008 San Diego Comic con in a couple of weeks along with the following Dark Knight sketches I will have available at the show in 18x25 and 8x10 prints. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/cjoefish/Ske...anSketchBig.JPG http://mywebpages.comcast.net/cjoefish/Ske...eathjokerWM.jpg I will begin work on Baby Doll when I return from the SDCC. Until then, CJoeFish
  4. Hello Everyone, I have been delayed in finishing up the Batman Animated Maquettes you have probably seen over the years. I am working on an animated pilot and have kicked out 3 maquettes but can't disclose them until I have permission. I will probably disclose them on my website soon or www.corysmithart.com. Anyhow, here are pics of my latest maquette... Batgirl: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/cjoefish/BTA...atgirlFront.JPG http://mywebpages.comcast.net/cjoefish/BTA...BatgirlBack.JPG http://mywebpages.comcast.net/cjoefish/BTA...irlLeftSide.JPG http://mywebpages.comcast.net/cjoefish/BTA...rlRightSide.JPG Here is a sneak peak of Darkseid which is pretty much completed as well: http://home.comcast.net/~cjoefish/SneakPee...dSneakFront.JPG I will be at the 2008 San Diego Comic-con in the artist alley again with Batgirl, Darkseid, the pilot maquettes, and maybe Baby Doll which I just started. Until then CJoeFish a.k.a. Cory Smith
  5. For those who do not know, San Diego Comic Con created the idea of Artist Alley where aspiring artists could showcase their talent at the best comic show on Earth. Each year, the alley gets smaller and smaller and so does the focus on the show as a so called "Comic Con". This year, artists were e-mailed 3 weeks ago saying that their tables have been elimiated and 37 tables or 1/3 of last years show is gone for this year. The reason cited is because the convention is requiring more space for "participants to sit and having the snack bar open where we previously had tables".. to quote from the e-mail. Now, I just found out today from a major artist that Lucas Films acquired 70 tables to debut the television shows at SDCC. This is the first that I have heard of this and I hope I'm the first one to break this news. For Star Wars Fans attending, this is great news... but for Comic Fans, this is devastating. Did Lucas Film and their 70 tables factor into the decision to remove tables from the Artist Alley... I don't think I need to answer this do I? I am pleading for those who have an interest in seeing comics in the future to support the small aspiring artists and make your voice heard. If large corporations are able to push out these artists who provide a service many people enjoy... or original art at the show, then the show will eventually become a hollywood extraviganza. Can't there be a comprimise here... a room perhaps outside of the main hall that can house these artists... why are they eliminating them? Is it because this service was provided for free perhaps? Your voice can be heard and you opinion on this matter can be submitted even if you never plan to attend the show to: cci-info@comic-con.org Personally, I know an artist who just finished a book he was working on for 3 years... and now he has no table to showcase his book. No alternative was available to artist's that had their tables cancelled. This is just wrong.
