  1. The sculpting for the female faces must have been done overseas in India, Cambodia, or the Philippines...the features don't look like the cartoon! This version of Teela looks like the Statue of Liberty...not a great look. So sorry to sound like a jerk, but coming off the Classics line with the most beautiful female face sculpts, this is really jarring! That said, the rest of the figures aspects look great, the bodies, the articulation, the colors...really nice!

  2. I am so happy to see Sun Man getting added to MOTU. He looks great, but the head looks like Fat Albert or a Garbaga Pail Kid...maybe they could have made it a bit smaller or more sleek?

Love the giant Mondo figures, and She-Ra looks particularly good. All the Origins continue to look fantastic, and so happy for fan vote Tri-Klops!

Most of the Masterverse figures look cool. Thanks to the Revelation show being so awful for me, I am not interested in them, but that deluxe Tri-Klops looks amazing. King Grayskull looks pretty cool too with the fur and cloth cape. I wish more lines would consider soft goods.

The Teela and Andra figures look ugly, as I expected. Who is doing the head sculpts for Masterverse? Clearly it's not the Four Horsemen...these are some of the worst head sculpts I have seen on figures in a while.

All in all, a lot of great stuff for MOTU fans! People get your wallets ready...get your coins up!

Wondering why it is always so hard for mattel to nail character likeness in their sculpts.  Is it on purpose?

I mean, they are not awful, but not good either.

Mattel might not have license to create exact likenesses of the characters as they appear on Netflix's Revelation, so it probably opted for more generic, 100% Mattel owned character model designs. It's primarily the head sculpts and facial designs which could potentially be a legal issue. I don't see this line lasting past the three waves and special deluxe figures which are coming. I think it's a one-off just for the show.
