  1. Why does the Revelation version have less detail and a worse sculpt than the origins version? The whole Revelations line is so hit or miss. There have been some great releases and some not so great.
  2. If they somehow made a combo of the HISS and HISS II I would love it. Basic V1 HISS shape but the top turret would not have a bucket for a gunner and instead the back opened up to a small troop transport. Then include the classic HISS Driver AND a Motor Viper as the first stretch goal. Edit to say: and of course there would be subtle upgrades to the detailing all around so that from a distance you get the classic shape but up close there is semi-realistic detailing all over while still keeping the core design entirely intact.
  3. PSA - Try to NOT use an "Incognito" browser. I went to the site on a private browser first and it showed out of stock. But I used a regular browser tab and then it WAS in stock. I don't know if that was the reason or if they restocked but I've had a similar issue with Hasbro Pulse where if I try to check out using an incognito/private tab it gave me problems. I don't guarantee success but it may be one solution for someone.
  4. I am definitely appreciative and shocked like Ghostmaverick13 above also stated. I never would have imagined that I could share so many of the things that I enjoyed with my kids and they would not only still be relevant but popular and done well.
  5. I'm excited - I was unsure when it was first announced because I knew nothing about the game. But I really like the figure designs even if I never play the game they just look cool so I will definitely pick up a few.
  6. Looks like I'll miss the D&D set again. Can't checkout because it keeps telling me "Your cart has been updated and the items you added can’t be shipped to your address. Remove the items to complete your order." EDIT: I was a doofus but I did get a set . Be sure you don't have the INTERNATIONAL VERSION in your cart if you are in the US and vice versa.
  7. I thought the same thing. That would be amazing since I've been making Pythona and Royal Guard Classified customs. It is very odd having Sarge with an AK. It's also off that the rifle packed in with Cobra Commander looks like a Super7 retro sculpt with less detail than the original vintage weapons had Stalker set will be amazing. Everything else is looking good.
  8. I didn't expect the D&D set to sell out - I really wanted one of those. But I hope they make more D&D figures in the larger detailed standard NECA format.
  9. Great news - Shipwreck and Rock N Roll are two of my favorites and I'm glad to have more Joes.
  10. I had Kol Darr in my cart but forgot I didn't have an account on that site and by the time I created an account and went to checkout it was sold out. Bummer.
  11. I've tried to use Mcfarlane 7in weapons for Classified before and they were noticeable too large. Specifically I tried out the pistols that came with one of the batman figures and the GI Joe figures couldn't even hold them well the were too large. BUT I'm still curious as well to give these a shot despite that.
  12. Thanks for the Target links. They were not showing up when I searched the site but I was able to order using the links.
  13. I can understand where you see DOOM - but I also see some Gundam influence as well.
  14. I've got to chime in here as somebody else who was in from the beginning. "Abomination" is going way too far. They are filling a niche, and I'm really happy to see them make some figures that might never have been done otherwise. If there was a large enough market they could charge $9 but I'm shocked they even got these in brick and mortar stores. They have every right to charge whatever they want to make the line work for them financially. If we don't like it then we don't have to buy in. That being said, I do understand where you're coming from; G.I. Joe in particular used to be top of the game AND affordable. Adjusting for inflation I think a single figure then would be about $8-12 today. But as I said if we don't want to bite at $18 they are not doing anything wrong by charging that. And nobody has to "support" their or any line if they don't want to - it's a two way street. Personally, I am glad to see what they are doing and happy with the 3 figures I have bought so far from them.
  15. I've gotta say these are really growing on me. I pre-ordered mine for custom fodder but now I'm really liking the Python Patrol deco. I think the chest plate would look cool in a translucent bright yellow.
  16. Honestly not thrilled with the excessive muscles - are they going to make Lexington a bodybuilder too? It made sense for Goliath but Brooklyn just doesn't look right with the extremely low bodyfat bodybuilder physique.
  17. I'm a big fan of some things that are "so bad they're good" but this guy is just ugly in my opinion. But hey, variety is the spice of life and I'm certain someone out there is thrilled they made this deco.
  18. Speaking of budgeting and finances, a topic near and dear to me as a former bookkeeper. I record the expense at time of purchase - Not when my card is charged. And I keep the transaction in a liability account setup specifically for pre-orders. Then when the card is charged I move it from the PRE-Order line of credit to the actual card or bank account from which the funds were taken. Doing this works for me because if I pre-order something it makes more sense to me to consider that money GONE. It may not technically be withdrawn yet but I have committed it, so I don't want it to show in my available funds.
  19. LOL. But honestly, I don't mind waiting a year at all if it means I can reliably order what I want with no hassle. I trust Hasbro to deliver & I like the pre-order window format where anyone can order as much as they want and then it goes into production. Maybe that will let them tighten up their production numbers and drop the price a smidge since it's an in-house brand for which they don't need to pay licensing fees and they know is a full sell-through (as opposed to the traditional method of development -> production -> orders they can avoid excess stock and underselling skus by doing development -> orders -> production thereby basing production on real orders since they don't have to fill store shelves especially with this line).
  20. No. BUT the line is clearly for everybody not just collectors. His line is - as I said in the last post about the award - more available, more affordable, and just as detailed and high quality as other comparable lines. They are big exciting action figures and the fact there are so many iterations of Batman is a draw for 9 year olds and parents on shopping trips even if collectors may want more variety of character selection. So, for me personally no I don't buy more McFarlane Toys than other things. But when I take my kids to the store and we pass by the toy aisle I would much sooner buy a McFarlane or a Masters Origins toy @ 16 or 19 bucks than a Legends figure at 22 or 24 (or 30+ for "deluxe" figs). And honestly I've never seen my kids excited for marvel legends - other than the big names like Spiderman, Iron Man and Cap they have no concept of backstory or characterization because they don't read comics like I did. But they like the gorilla men and giant golden metallic fist guys - because those tell an immediate story... and then there's Batman, who no matter how you decorate him the kids are going to still point and say "oooh, cool look at that Batman".
  21. Well deserved. You know what hooked me? PRICE & AVAILABILITY. McFarlane is killing it by offering a good product that is in stock 3 pegs wide at a good price. Yes there are always multiples and peg warmers but they clearance-out but still clearly leave more than enough profit when taken/averaged with strong sellers to drive the continued success of the line. I'm not even particularly interested in DC characters but Hazmat Batman looked like it could be a cool conversion into a Rifts Deadboy and the Edrogon Demon figure just looked like a cool fantasy orc/demon. I started off just buying some on clearance and now I'm 50/50 buying new vs picking up clearance figures when I see them. Even new they are minimum $3-$5 less each than comparable figures from other lines in the 6" and 7" scale.
  22. They definitely stand out, and that's intentional. They are like a malicious twist on riot/SWAT police. Imagine a private force whose goal is not to contain, quell and protect people from violence but rather to direct, control and stoke the violence strategically for Cobra to cause or worsen civil unrest and direct it/use it for their nefarious purposes. That's how I see them and the file card for the 25th version says about the same. So really, stealth is not on their skills list by design. They are meant to be stand out in urban environments and spearhead the control and direction of violence.
  23. Very eclectic collection, in a good way. I like that there's even an old Marx Cowboy up there. I've always contemplated getting one of those. I found one in an antique mall once and was shocked at how sturdy it felt and how good the articulation was as well as how well "disguised" the articulation was in the sculpt.
  24. One of the best dios I've seen in a long time. This looks as good as the professional displays they do at a trade shows, or the old photo shoots they used to do of all the toys in a line for the glossy insert or card back.
