  1. I know of reprolabels and love what they do. I seem to remember that there was a site that sold reproduced TF-parts (such as seekermissiles) and custom made parts. I've tried to find that site, but to no avail. Can anyone point me in the general direction? Thanks!
  2. I don't like it either. - the forehead is too high - the antennea are too long - what's with the ironplated turtleneck? - the typeface used to engrave his name is too Startrekkie™ No, sorry, not something for me I'm afraid.
  3. I got Whirl as a kid after they ran out of Jetfires in my local toystore (I was saving up for Jetfire for months too! ). At first I liked it because the chopper-mode reminded me of Blue Thunder (I loved that show as a kid!), but the toy didn't grew on me as it wasn't in the show. I ended up trading it for a Computron with one limb missing when I was 12. I still regret making that choice. I'd love to have Whirl back in my collection now. Come to think of it, I still need a Jetfire too :s Hey, I like the Throttlebots!
  4. Hmmm... on that pic, the boxed one has short, grey smokestacks while the "loose" one in front has long, vacced chrome stacks. Then again, the loose one could be MP-01 seeing as there are other japanese toys in the pics as well.
  5. It was just added July 1st to the site and I don't see another discussion topic anywhere. It's part of a season 1 episode of Robot Chicken and was broadcasted in 2005. They've done a lot of TF-related sketches. My favourite one is a "Where are they now?"-spoof where Soundwave turns out to have a job transforming into a chemical toilet at rockconcerts. Brilliant stuff, Robot Chicken! You should watch it!
  6. I for one wont http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=79...Optimus&pl=true
  7. No idea on how it was made, but here's the sample: http://www.audiosparx.com/sa/play/play.cfm/sound_iid.15411 Click on "preview" to hear it.
  8. Now that Blaster is out, they should do a re-issue set of 3 cons and 3 bots or something similar. seeing that Laserbeak, Ravage and Steeljaw are already out, I vote for Ramhorn, Eject, Rewind, Frenzy, Rumble and Ratbat. If they REALLY want to make me happy, they should throw in Ravage again though...I'm not picking up a €60 figure I don't care about just to get Ravage
  9. Well I did some extensive research (well I entered ["King Kobra"+"Spectre General"] into Safari's searchbox...) and I think I figured out what's going on. Turns out that Kick Axe originally wrote the song for King Kobra but later decided to release it themselves for the TF:TM soundtrack. Kick Axe is Spectre General's official name outside the US. They couldn't use "Kick Axe" inside the US because that name was already a registered trademark there (Kick Axe/Spectre General is a Canadian band). "Nothing's Gonna Stand In Our Way" was first released by John Farnham (of "The Voice"-fame) in 1984. Source: http://www.tfarchive.com/community/printth...?threadid=11649 King Kobra still scares me a little though
  10. The songs "Hunger" and also "Nothing's Gonna Stand In Our Way" in TFTM are by Spectre General, who still exist today but go by the name of 'Kick Axe'. I have no idea who "King Kobra" are, but they're obviously not Spectre General/Kick Axe using a different name. The question now is... who's covering who? Pure 80s hairrock though! Reminds me of Spinal Tap
  11. I was going to say 'Wheelie', but i noticed you mean toys. Oh what the hell: Wheelie!
  12. Like Snarl, but smaller @loll@ @loll@ @loll@
  13. The Japanese one was a shelfwarmer as much as the TRU one was. So no, I don't think Takara will reissue him again shortly. Luckily I have the first Takara reissue in my collection
  14. The stickers are in the plastic bag with the instructions.... that bag was taped to the back of the cardboard insert.
  15. Only three more episodes to go... I can't wait either!
  16. I think the bright-blue is caused by an inexperienced photographer who used the flash head on.
  17. Congrats And they have the same birthday as I do (although i was born 28 years earlier ofcourse).
  18. Ofcourse, all photoshopped, but nonetheless funny! Enjoy Rejected Transformers Designs
  19. Re-issue #18 Soundblaster does include both Ravage and Buzzsaw, tfu.info even says so: "This figure was reissued with a variant versions of Buzzsaw (1984) and Ravage (1984) in Japan in 2005." Mind you, the "variation" basically means an added sticker of Fortress Maximus' weak spot, otherwise the molds and paint is identical to the original releases.
  20. I won't go as far as calling it an addiction, but in my case it does get frowned upon by some family members. I sometimes have to explain why I, as a 27-year old, have two Ikea displays full of G1 in my livingroom and three Sideshow Buffy-figures on top of my TV. What can I say... I'm a geek Luckily I have family members who are MUCH worse in collecting things (like an uncle who collects Dinky Toys and a cousin who spends hundreds of euros on sigarwrappers...). I usually compare myself to them and tactically forget to mention what I paid for Predaking
  21. It's a classic... a very important character in the TF-universe too. Plus i can clearly remember drooling over his large purple box in the toystore as a kid So yes, count me in
