  1. Nice Photoshop job. Now how did you do that? I'm a little rusty in Photoshop.

I use Photoshop CS2 (and yes, I own it legally).

I cut out the car (except for the wheels) from the source (using Extract), added it as a second layer and de-saturated it. I then stacked a third layer on top to which I applied the yellow and silver. By lowering the paint layer's opacity to about 70% you can see the desaturated car below it (and make it appear the lighting affects the paintlayer). This gives it a realistic look and works MUCH better than the colour-replacement brush. You really need a steady hand and a graphics tablet to do it accurately though.

The whole thing took me about 20 minutes.

    Here's the source:

  2. Hmmm, i doubt that is the final packaging or if that's even real.

First of all, the box depicts that Soundwave holds either Laserbeak or Buzzsaw while not Buzzsaw but Ravage is included.

Also, isn't re-issue Soundwave to be able to hold two tapes at once instead of just one? The text on the box as well as the photo's of Soundwave on the packaging depict a G1 Soundwave and not a recoloured Soundblaster. Also note the internal tapedoor hinges which mean this is not the Takara re-issue mold.

Edit: i just realised the topic starter noted most of my points already. Oh well, it's late and i'm tired ;) Sorry nonetheless.

  3. Wow i love the Classics! Grimlock and Jetfire are everything I ever hoped for in G1. And Ramjet...geesh... look at that detail! I'm loving it. I can't wait for the rest!

Shame I can't say the same about the Legends though. Especially Menasor seems far fetched. Ofcourse he's intended to be Motormaster (but they probably couldn't reserve that name or something), but still.

The Titanium line has some nice toys. I especially like Scourge. He's very cartoon accurate. Magnus and Soundwave/Laserbeak don't cut it for me.

  4.

That sort of stuff is selling very well right now in Japan, and Takara is just trying to get in on it.

Some examples of wha's either selling well or is long sold out:

    <snip>

First it was gashpon (trading figure) females, then the female gashpons got bigger and more well........"adult," then they moved on to even bigger ones (usually 1/6 or 1/7 scale) selling in the $30 - $50 area right now.

    I so don't get these.

I'm just not taku enough I guess :P

  5. Very nice find! My only question (and wish!) is why, oh why can't we get a G1 Jetfire like in that video? From Robot mode to vehicle mode that was perfect, no rehashed Macross model but a authentic new model.

Have you checked out Classics Jetfire yet?

Not identical to G1, but very close.

  6. The RUDE Awakening of Optimus Prime

    Shockwave's Burden

    SOS Wheeljack

Very funny, but they contain rude language.

EDIT: i just realised wheeljack35 already posted the third vid. Sorry! Atleast the other two are new to the boards. Are they? ARE THEY? I really hope they are!

  7. In order to french don't you need some tongue lockage to happen there? I don't see anywhere that's possble, since one, Prime is a machine, and secondly, he has a shield where a mouth should be.

    Geeks!

You obviously don't have MP-01. The shield comes off. ;)

Oh, and according to some anime, some 'cons have...errr...tongues...
