  1. Sure thing LS. Thank you for the kind words! It has been a lot of work, but also a very fun and enlightening experience. They will be available on the website and hopefully the book will be available at all the typical places you buy books.
  2. An update on the work we've been doing... The alpha draft of the novel is nearing completion. Lots of editing to be done after that, but it's exciting to be so close to a finished draft. Two figures, the main fictional characters in the novel, are in production now. Very cool.
  3. I guess this seems like the most appropriate place to post updates about the line of figures I'm working on that I mentioned here. So yeah, things are coming along swimmingly. So far, two of the ten characters have 3D sculpts completed that are ready for production... Fearsome Phantos® and Masculon® (attached here). In addition to that, I'm having a 2.5 minute promotional animation made (in the vein of '80s cartoon intros but with a mix of music video thrown in for good measure). The studio working on it is currently reworking the character designs to fit their style (also attached). Finally, I'm having promotional art and some mini-comics developed to go along with the figures. This is on top of the novel (tentatively titled "Fearsome & Fully Articulated) that I'm working on with a friend who is a published author. Exciting stuff to me!
  4. I wonder how many of these deluxe versions we'll get. Will there be a deluxe for every figure? Also, is it just me or does Clamp Champ seem WAY too happy... at least with the one head option?
  5. I apologize if this is not the appropriate thread for this... Currently I am working with a colleague on a novel. Here is a short synopsis of it if you are needing some context: https://www.overlordsofthecosmos.com/what-is-ootc Anyway, as we have plugged along on this literary endeavor, it occurred to me that it would be extremely cool if I could have one of the protagonists of the novel (Fearsome Phantos) prototyped... just for fun. Well, that snowballed into the possibility of launching a full-fledged line of figures inspired by the Overlords of the Cosmos, a fictional property based on Masters of the Universe that plays a pivotal role in the novel. And it kept snowballing. Now I'm considering making another aspect of the novel a part of this action figure line... the "Create-A-Character" contest. In the novel, the main protagonist enters such a contest. How cool would it be to hold open submission periods so that peers could vote on the design they want included in the line? This could be a reoccurring feature, though how often it might take place is undecided at this point. We're early in the process, but Fearsome Phantos is being prototyped "as we speak". Once his design is perfect, it'll be time to decide how many I want produced. I could really use any input and feedback that others have as we head down this road to see where it leads. I'm uncertain at this time about a lot of things, but means of distribution and the quantity we'll need are chief among them. In the meantime, here are design sketches that I have created for the current lineup of characters (from left to right... "Skullagar", "Fearsome Phantos", "EyeSpy", "Masculon", "Munch Mouth", "Mace Ace", "Vile-Ette", "Defendra", "Creecharr", "Flip Grip") as well as packaging design images:
  6. Roboto and Zodac look great. Very pleased with those two. She-Ra on the other hand looks awful. This line has yet to put out a decent female figure... but that doesn't bother me much as I don't typically care for the female characters aside from Evil-Lyn. EDIT: Also... I giggled when I read the bottom line on the back of the mini-comic: "Subject of availability" Haha! Pretty sure that was meant to say "Subject TO availability". Engrish.
  7. I'd just like to get some actual images of a couple figures in that line, even if they are a little obscured by shadow or some other effect. Anything more than the silhouettes.
  8. Woah. Nicely done. I always preferred this color scheme over the actual figure.
  9. My choice would be Guile, but I always preferred Street Fighter 2 over Mortal Kombat. So... biased.
  10. Ahhh man... that sucks. For me, he'll always be the "voice of the monorail" at Walt Disney World. Every time I hear his voice in some other work, I instantly recognize it. I really hope he recovers quickly.
  11. Ahhh. Gotcha. Some of the original names for MOTU figures that ended up changed prior to production were interesting too. Like "Hose Nose". LOL
