  1. He didn't strongly indicate it at all and i'm fairly confident of that fact. I think people have gotten their hopes up based on that one post. Watch all the videos again. All he ever said about the soft abs was the quote i posted: "We were practising trying to see whether we could do what is a soft chest so that we could get a bend in it. We're trying to figure out whether that's going to work if it doesn't this is just going to be all solid. So we haven't decided that yet." Above is verbatim taken from update # 9. Nothing further was mentioned and that statement does not in any way shape or form guarantee it was going to happen nor does it strongly indicate anything. Update # 24 is when he told us the abs would be solid; this was post campaign. All the videos between these two updates are either pledge upgrades, celebrating milestones or how to buy multiple figures. I couldn't find anything in these videos relating to the abs. The only other time he played with the prototype was update # 13 where he showed off the cape during which he said nothing about the abs. I don't think there's anything wrong with showing ideas you're playing around with. He was clear that it wasn't a guarantee and that it was simply something they were trying out to see if they could do it. Clearly between update 9 and 24 they determined that they couldn't. As an FYI, i wanted the soft abs. Also worth noting that there were equal amounts of people commenting that they didnt want it. Many of which thinking the soft "rubber" would rott. When all is said and done; i have seen numerous guys complain saying Todd is a fraud and that they're selling their figures when they get them. I have also seen numerous guys saying they wish they pledged. I'm pretty sure those who have purchased the figures wont have trouble selling them and in most cases for a profit.
  2. Come on Jay that's fake news. The people who are angry were not paying enough attention. When the kickstarter went live there was absolutely no indication that the chest would be soft. In fact there's a 19 second clip on the home page that shows the full articulation breakdown. This clip does not include a soft torso or any form of ab crunch. The first and i believe only time we saw the soft ab crunch was the 23rd of April. In the update 9 clip at about 0:42 he says "We were practising trying to see whether we could do what is a soft chest so that we could get a bend in it. We're trying to figure out whether that's going to work if it doesn't this is just going to be all solid. So we haven't decided that yet." It's pretty clear to me that was an indication it may or may not happen. Further; by that point just over 50% of funds had already been pledged People keep saying Todd did the old bait and switch but a good look at the clip and what was originally shown clearly indicates that it was never a guarantee. During the campaign he was very active commenting on a good chunk of posts and addressed many concerns people had i.e. the twisted torso. As far as i see it; when he launches the medievil spawn backers should back based on what they see and listen carefully to his videos. I have no doubt it will do well and it will probably do really well with a neutral torso and cloth cape.
  3. Straight up i collect this line and have everything they've released. But i will note that Scorpion and Sub-Zero are the weakest figures in this line by far. They're hard to pose and their proportions seem off. Instead of boring repaints in colours nobody asked for (who honestly wants a purple sub-zero?) It would have been good if they'd given us a new body types to strengthen what is possibly the two most popular characters in the entire franchise. Even if they couldnt do that they could have mixed up the head and weapons a little. Maybe the Back to Basics skin. It's not that much different but it's better than a purple sub-zero ...
  4. Makes sense when you consider that the Batman who laughs sold out faster than any other figure in that wave. Need to finish the full team of Dark Knights. On the other hand for those sick of Batman look at it this way: the first few waves will have the most issues so by the time he gets around to doing other characters most of those issues (scale, articulation etc) should be ironed out.
