  1. You raise an important point here, I think. Which is that GI Joe does have it's diehard / true fans, as any collectible does, and sure they may number a bit higher than say, those who love Thundercats....but it's not in Star Wars / Transformers league. Yet, these amazingly fast sellouts keep occurring. To me? that says manufactured demand, not actual production to allow all fans to get product. That's a strategic decision which really irks me and frankly, makes me less inclined to reward bad behavior. I probably sound just like my father (lol ugh) but it seems like rewarding Hasbro for annoying business practices....which sucks as these are great looking figures!!
  2. Seconded!.....I'd love a well priced Wun-Dar, too. Just went to eBay and it's over $100 at least so to have one that's not that range and perhaps better quality / updated body sculpt? That has my vote.
  3. Which is a shame as he's a really good figure... I blame the shipping strategy, not the sculpting or figure popularity.
  4. 100% agree...by definition, and army builder should be in higher quantity. Especially one that lends itself to classic diorama building, e.g. how many of us want to have our scenes setup of Snake Eyes vs. a small army of red ninjas?! ..Do you know, can retailers return product? I absolutely could see Gung Ho being left on the pegs, are those returnable or were they but not anymore due to COVID?
  5. Agreed. so far the in store selection has been spotty at best, non-existent on a normal day. It's a frustrating time to collect....hmm although I suppose if you sell on the after-market you're happy..so..yay for that.
  6. Exactly. And yes, my job is showing as I've worked in High Tech project management for geez.. 20 years now? this was a coordination issue. Easy to do? No. But, still doable.. it's 11:44 now, they've had plenty of time to get the site fully updated and here's the thing....whle homepage images aren't loading, items are still out of Stock! So what incentive does Walmart have to do these sorts of things better? With sales going this briskly, I'm sure all they're doing are putting themselves on the back.
  7. Movie Cable(waste of plastic). .... lol yep. This product offering is doing nothing so far to tempt my wallet.
  8. Ok product being added but no links working..yet.... Hmm, not sure if I see any "must buys" but apparently more for Transformers & GI Joe being revealed in a half hour.
  9. Oh nice! i love the 25th anniversary detail and designs....i wonder if the pricing will be very reasonable? To my amateur searches on eBay, these haven't seemed exorbitant to find.
  10. Yo Joe! Let's Go!.......... Oooo, that was super corny. Apologies.
  11. "You almost feel like someone at Target is just f@#@ with people."...........what's that old quote from the Simpsons? Do that? That's a paddlin'
  12. Purely curious as I would freaking LOVE That...but why do you think Transformers is getting 80's movie figures?!
  13. What sucks is that as a collector, I want to care. I don't mind a bit of a hunt to find cool new product that I'm excited about; and / or when it's truly a limited item. But what's worrisome to me is this is starting to feel like manufacturing a critical demand...e.g. calling something "exclusive" purely as a euphemism to jack up prices and generate further interest due to scarcity. I'm sure NECA isn't alone as a company, or the toy industry for that matter, in indulging in such practices, but it's disappointing to see. Ironically (?), the effect is making me keep my wallet in my pocket!..so, yay for that, I guess...?
  14. Did I miss it? do we know what the · Spider-Man Peter Parker (Marvel Comics) ($56.00 figure is??
  15. you know what's throwing me off on him? the sunglasses. 'like you, I understand they aren't going for ultra realism...but, um, didn't they just basically make a new Wild Bill figure?
  16. I find it maddening to think that you're exactly right!...it's, well to my mind anyway, the only logical reason why we don't yet see Dutch's strike team, more marines from Aliens, etc... 'personal feelings aside, the sales #'s just aren't there.....And they should be! The humans are as vital a part of these classics as the amazingly designed creatures... ah well, We do live in age where "collector focused" figures aren't unheard of, so maybe one day....shoot, if NECA can give me a Batman vs. Predator set, (no way did I think that would ever happen), perhaps anything is possible!
  17. That makes me sad...Do you know if he meant he never asked? Or he did ask and Danny Glover didn't get rights to his likeness?
  18. seconded! Especially for Chuckles ....found him such an odd (in a good way) and unexpected character when i was a kid, 'more of him is always a good thing!
  19. You make some great points here on the downsides to McFarlane's line... 'especially the BAF issue and how it benefits collectors while he's fumbled around it since Day 1....., so to see ANOTHER Batman line, but nothing for say, DCeased??? (isn't that storyline begging for quality figures?)....... I am highly skeptical that was a purely fan research-driven move on his part. I'm much more in favor of ML and how they can deliver numerous Iron Man / X-men figures, but at the same time, I have a Night Thrasher on my shelf. That's highly commendable balance to their offering roadmap.
  20. You know, this topic, the volume of "Batman" in toy lines vs. the depth of the DCU, comes up often over the years (and rightly so),.....and while it's not necessarily always true, the Justice League Unlimited line really dove deep into character offering............ but I'd love to know if someone like McFarlane has actual research or Market data that justifies Batman sales. And even then, to see if it's a reaction to what the market demand vs. the availability of product......... For example, did the Arrow figure in McFarlane's line sell well enough to generate other DCTV characters being produced? I wish this sort of data was more readily available, I think a lot of us collectors would find it fascinating to learn from.
  21. love your comment on the value for the price. I don't love every figure in this line but! to my eye, when they're good? (e.g. the Superman Unleashed armor)....boy, they're spectacular. I'd put this one in that category as well. I really can't wait to pick it up...I hope Todd keeps going with unexpected figures that deliver quality sculpting and adding new, interesting characters to our collections.
  22. AMEN!...... I loathe the Transformers movies for how much they crapped all over / ignored the personalities of the Autobots & Decepticons, they were purely special effects with minor story service paid to Optimus Pride....... But perhaps M.A.S.K is a property people in Hollywood can better understand as the humans are leads and are supported by the amazing vehicle technology.....I've long thought a very fun movie was possible with M.A.S.K, and of course....incredible merchandise! I very much hope this comes to fruition, and I personally enjoy John Cena so I could see him easily working as Matt.
