  1. Not so. As pointed out in the Mythic Legions example, the people that said No to 4" figures but Yes to 6" weren't already literally "customers", as the line hadn't even been produced. Happily 4HM listened to them. That's not negativity, that's feedback, its saying "here's how you can take my money". No, I and apparently others don't have interest in a statue, but as I clearly stated, if he made an articulated figure, I'd be all over it. So THAT I WOULD have interest in. If that's "bringing you down" I honestly can't see how, because that is a better figure, and is something you know you would definitely buy. No one's stopping you from buying the statue.
  2. It isn't meant to be "literal". His name is on the product. Good or bad, its a reflection on him. Todd's been in the toy biz long enough to know that collectors prefer articulated figures (especially at that price) over statues. That thing looks good! I can guarantee if he did that, it would sell out....he wouldn't even have to look at soft goods. Ching ching! As far as the "negative" comments go, that's called Customer Feedback. This is how retail works. They're letting him know what's good, what's not, what could be better, what will get us to BUY. As an example, when Fourhorsemen first proposed their Mythic Legions line, they were going to do 4" figures. Lots of people were interested in their Kickstarter, but pushed for a 6" scale. Their first wave was 34 figures and they sold out. Done nothing but bangers ever since. Some of the most sought after (and after market expensive) figures ever. The Four Horsemen listened to their customers. Win Win.
  3. Same here. Then again, when fans buy his over-priced other figures, that just emboldens him to do this kind of thing. Shame 'cause it really looks good...but a solid chunk of plastic isn't what I had in mind.
  4. Well the blind box concept probably doesn't work for collectors who already have all the ones they want but again, newer collectors might prefer this option, instead of paying 2-3x more on eBay or some other outlet. If you're against the blind box period, then this is not for you.
  5. I agree that a straight sale works; from what they said, I'm not sure they have enough stock to guarantee that though, so the random grab bag is their alternative.
  6. For a lot of people, they didn't get on to Mythic Legions until much later and the prices for these older figures are just through the roof. So this actually works out very well for them.
  7. They're (Spero) really gonna need to step their game in communication with backers, and delivery on products. A lot of people thought they had been scammed on the first wave. Not a good look for a company just starting out. I myself just received a figure they said was going to be shipped 11 months ago. I understand, like many others who deal with new companies and kickstarter projects, that things just don't always go as planned. But when your backers are screaming for updates and getting zilch for responses, it doesn't make for good relations. As for the figures themselves, they're quite good; excellent, and Hasbo marvel legends could learn a thing or two from them on paint apps. The articulation is outstanding and the weapons accessories are right up there with Mythic Legions. I can't say I'm going to pick up any further waves but I haven't ruled it out totally.
  8. Not sure what that Superman is based on; clearly not the box art artist. It looks like a nod to Gary Frank. If so, during that timeline Superman did not have wrist bands on his sleeves, his belt had the classic circular buckle, there were belt loops, and most importantly, he had his yellow 'S' emblem on the back of his cape. This is basically just another lazy repaint and I really expect better of someone who's a legend in the comic community.
  9. Oh yeah I'm seeing some pirate re-use here! Ahoy ye scurvy dogs!
  10. Word on the street is that those are actual working locks, do don't lose the keys!
  11. If you're talking about the Crossover two-pack, then yeah, I agree with you. Clearly I love Mythic Legions and have been riding with them since year 0....but as great as this set is, I see nothing to justify a $159.00 price tag on BBTS. I mean they just dropped their Reinforcements wave that has SEVEN figures, including a 9" tall ogre, all complete with weapons, soft goods, alt heads etc and all for $200.00. "Exclusive" or not, how is the TWO pack this much? Sorry but for me, the math ain't mathin' here.
  12. Exactly. This guy has been making action figures for almost 30 years now and shouldn't be pumping out sub-par products, expecting everyone to just go ga-ga 'cause his name is attached. Call it "Gold Edition", "Platinum Label", "Ambassador Circle" "Elite Diamond Tier", or whatever other name you want to make up so it sounds like some must-have collectible (its pathetic how many people fall for this). At the end of the day, its still crudely done work.
  13. So true. They look great and I have no doubt they're top notch. BUT they're simply not worth that price. Hopefully LC will offer these again sometime at a more reasonable cost. If not, I've learned the value of just walking away. No hate, just save my $$
  14. They look unfinished, they look bland, they look like they have weak articulation....so-called 30 points, but just check out these boring, nearly static poses. I don't know what Valaverse was going for here, but surely this isn't it.
  15. He's got a strong resemblance to Dungeons & Dragons' Venger! I love this shot of them fighting on the stone spiral staircase....great angle!
  16. Oh, now I remember why I don't try doing my own photo shoots. 'Cause I could never do anything this good, that's why. Silly me.
  17. $30.00? For what?? The figures are crude, clumsy, and the fancy label fools no one.
  18. Just look at how even their re-paints are a whole 'nother level. Yoshanai Kari is the Monkey King they just released- only with updates that are so good, its a must-have figure. Skapular is a figure within a figure! I was gonna pass on that as I have the original....but then look at al the stuff there. The weapons packs from way back in Wave I were incredible, LOOK how improved they are now. This is the kind of thing that ticks me off about hasbo's Legends- barely any thought or care into updating or re-using on the same level as FourHorsemen. Clearly they're making sure collectors know that, just because they've branched out to COSMIC Legions, Mythic isn't gonna get left behind. Anyone who's thinking of jumping in on this, I advise doing now. These only increase in price afterwards.
  19. Fans were talking about Atlus having a bear to ride way back during the first Kickstarter, almost 10 years ago. And every wave they've come out with since, has just been stellar.
  20. I CURSE Four Horsemen for this, why the frenchtoast did they have to go and do this, right after I inventoried my Mythic Legions and see that I have practically all of them?? I swore I was gonna cut back and then these yabbos go and do this. Can't even try to say I dont have the money 'cause I just got a raise AND a bonus. AAAAAAH!
  21. Outstanding! Mythic Legions and Xesray Studio! Perfect composition here!
  22. Seriously doubt there will be much of a need to get the answer, because this likely won't fund. I know people are hoping for a last minute "Giant-Man" surge, but these figures arent known characters, the concept is wonky, and shart is not a multibillon dollar company that has the IP for one of the most popular lines out there. Not being a hater, it just is what it is.
