  1. Are you sure? Maybe he and Robojoe could team up with the Venomous Maximous and Cobra la to fight the Lunartixx empire and the Maximals? (Just making the point that nothing is too weird for the Joeverse.)
  2. I got my playwrighting degree from NYU. They own me forever. I'll still be around, though, stalking the Olson twins. (I call dibs on the crazy one.)
  3. It had one gun, but yeah, it certainly should have included weapons for each figure. I told his dad that it would help teach the kid sharing. Mostly it will teach him that toymakers half@$$ a lot of things.
  4. For as much of a plotz as the regular line has taken the last few waves, these comic packs are the most remarkable thing Hasbro has done for the fans yet. (Except maybe the troop builder pack). Really nice work, and really accurate. The Oktober Guard is a geek dream come true. Boy, if I'd have had those as an extra faction when I was a kid and was better at playing. We used to wish for those all day. I'm suprised that Flash and Grand Slam aren't dressed normally. That's going to frustrate people. Other than that... wow. The Scarlett is really great. (Makes up for that crummy white one.)
  5. Heh, heh, "Thunderclap." A little penicillin will clear that right up. @loll@
  6. That was a brilliant move by Hasbro, flooding the market with packs of guys that had already been released 10 times and a VHS of something that already had a DVD. They're flying off the shelves. I did buy one for my little nephew though, to get him started. Too bad there's no WEAPONS in the freakin' pack.
  7. That sucks. Did they find out how many toner cartridges you'd been taking home? No job has ever found out how much I've stolen from them. Well, except Hagan Daz (sp?), but that was more of a misunderstanding. Beats stealing from your house. And I'm getting laid off, not fired. But the result is still unemployed. It's alright though, I needed a break anyway. I just quit my job at NYU to write full time for a while and push my writing career. I'm getting sick of eating leaves and sticks, but it is a nice break. Best of luck to you. I'm sure we'll meet at one of these shindigs in good time.
  8. I concur. I thought Spearhead was a better figure from that year.
  9. Say, why are there so many new people, anyhow? Are you new collectors, or old collectors who just got turned on to TNI? And if so, why? Also, do you have any cute sisters?
  10. I'd have to say that, if I were talking objectively, almost all of the best sculpts are JvC, but with fond memories involved, it's tougher. 1. Outback - that dude was baaaad Also: Bat v1 - amazing!!!! Runners up: JvC Snake Eyes (Objectively, perhaps the best) JvC Ripper (Or him, if the sawtooths on SE stick out to far for you) Bat v 3.2 Viper v1 (This year was probably the best for Old School sculpts) Other contenders: Hawk v2 Flint v1 Footloose (highly underrated) Eel v1 IG Destro IG Zanzibar Night Viper JvC Dusty
  11. Well, there goes my e-bay auction for the custom "Crimson Dreadnok Strike Force" I made. Actually, I was thinking the same thing when I saw the Crimson set with a HISS tank and an ASP, and, of course, that convention thing from two years ago. Somehow, the Crimson Guard changed from Larry Hama's vision to some version of Saddam's Republican Guard.
  12. I for one, fear and loathe all new members. They can only divide us and steal our vital bodily fluids. I keed... welcome!
  13. Thanks, SKA! Wow, Wow, Wowwee, Wow, Wow! Are those really coming out? Really? Those are fantastic! Is the set just the two? Oh, man, this is what I get for being off the Internet through Convention time. Wow.
  14. He's coming up in a troopbuilder pack with Tele-Viper; both in Python Patrol colors! Really? I totally missed that news. Anybody else in that set, and how many of each? It'll be nice to have more tele-vipers, too. I like to have one out with each Cobra squad, but I only have 2, so it doesn't work.
  15. At first glance I thought this was a thread about the new sculpt Viper (VvV). I think I'm the biggest VvV hater in the world (got I hate it - cheap plastic, lousy sculpts, lousy colors, lousy scale, AA - GARBAGE!) but I do love the new viper sculpt in spite of the height problem with JvC. I thought that by now there'd be 50 different repaints of the sculpt - and it seems like there are none and none on the horizon! I only bought 2 because I figured there'd be lots of repaints. Where are they????
  16. That sucks. Did they find out how many toner cartridges you'd been taking home?
  17. Well, I've been pouring over the images on Yo Joe, and, though some of the sheets do list it as an acronym "B.U.G.G.", darned if I can find what it stands for either. Anybody got the box to one? Oh, and I don't think E.E.L. became an acronym until the new electric kind with the crap proportions, and they still don't seem to list what it stands for.
  18. Well, d@mn. I've been out of town for work and/or on vacation since the end of June (in Chicago, Boston, Ireland, and Philadelphia - and, boy, are my arms tired), so, I'm afraid I missed this BBQ, and all thread preceding it. Looks like it was a great time, and I hope I can be a part of the next NYC get together! Sgt. R.

    Frostbite

Way to go, Hasblow... thanks for ruinging the collection I've been building for two years by screwing up the scale. I don't buy the VvV garbage, although I am filling in my JvC collection with customs, troop building, etc. I guess the folks who like the relaunch can just forget about havine Major Bludd, Buzzer, Scrap-Iron, Bazooka, Hawk, etc. etc. for their collections. Out of principle, I should unload all my JvC and wash my hands of these toys, but I like them too much.
  20. Flint: Sir, I think I see movement over there. Hawk: Nonsense, soldier, all I see is a giant pile of buttercups, sunshine, and bananas. Yellow Neo-Viper (from his camouflaged position): Heh, Heh, fools.
  21. Dude, this is a non-question. VvV Alley Viper is one of the worst action figures to ever carry the name Joe. How did it get approved? It is horrible, horrible, horrible. Think of the draw on that pack if they'd simply used somewhat human proportions on him, given hima visor, shiled and rifle, as they has with ALL other versions. Duhr.
  22. Ugh, I hate people who change lanes when they drive. I take back what I said. Good riddance, QKtheatre. I keed. Thanks for chiming in. We're glad the site will still be there!
  23. Hey, don't ANYBODY act like David Thornton is somehow ungrateful or that it's good that he's not updating, that guy has been putting up that awesome site for years, and it must take a ton of work, and it will be missed. And, I've never heard of him saying one bad thing about another fan. There's so many jerky "I'm a better fan than you" people out there (I'll bet you can name a few right off the top of your head), and he has never been of that ilk. He seems really chill and just putting up a site cuz he loved the Sunbow cartoon and wants to share the love, y'all. If he's burned out, or pissed about mistakes in the box sets, or just drifting away, all we can say is "thanks" for the great one stop Joe news shopping. Hopefully he'll leave the site up, cuz there's a ton of good stuff on there, although recently he mentioned maybe taking it down once all the toons are out.
