  1. I'm pretty much in the same boat. I HAVE bought some Fortnite figures for that reason.
  2. Etrigan looks VERY cool. I'm probably going to at least TRY to get him, since Etrigan is usually represented as significantly larger than most humans, so the scale issues shouldn't bother me as much. For anyone wondering when he wore the armor; it was in the 2012 series "Demon Knights".
  3. Has anyone else noticed Aang's knees look like they bend backwards? All in all, they look like Happy Meal toys.
  4. Does anyone else look at Skye and see an easy Molly Hayes custom?
  5. This makes more sense than some might think; an EVA is a mecha with an organic core made from an "Angel", and Mechagodzilla has the remains of the ORIGINAL Godzilla as it's core.
  6. Yeah, I enjoyed Grayson-as-Batman. I don't particularly care for the "Dark Knights" stuff; certainly not enough to buy figures of them, especially ones that don't fit(scale-wise) with the rest of my collection. As for why I bother posting about it here: I have a need to vent to someone who might understand my frustration. None of my IRL friends collect action figures, so they don't get it. If I must scream into the void, I prefer it be one that MIGHT answer.
  7. The same logic can be applied to the comicbook industry: a monopolistic distribution system and the perception that retailers, not consumers, are the "real" customers, will ultimately prove self-destructive.
  8. Having an opinion isn't the same as trolling. I was watching Batman Beyond from the beginning, and I am well aware it's not a dystopia. I'll admit I jumped to some conclusions; I saw a head that's Batman-in-the-front, Joker-in-the-back, a Borg-looking bodysuit, an arm cannon the size of a Vespa, some kind of mechanical appendages sticking out the back, and the OMAC/Brother Eye logo on the chest. Pardon me for immediately thinking of Futures' End, which WAS a Dystopian/Post-Apocalyptic future that involved Terry McGinnis. Yeah, I'm a little behind on some storylines; so sue me. Actually, don't; the reason I'm behind is I don't have enough disposable income to buy 20+ comicbooks a month. That doesn't change the fact that DC has published about a dozen Post-Apocalyptic/scary alternate timeline/all-is-lost events since 2012. You can only blow up the world so many times before it gets repetitive. I'm a fan of Batman, but not of the 192,937,375,278 Batman/someone else hybrid mashup characters. I'm glad that McFarlane has FINALLY embraced the concept of ACTION in an action figure line; I've picked up a few of their Fortnight figures,(I'm not really into Fortnight, but SOME of the designs are kinda cool.) but I still wish they'd fix the scale issues, not just with Legends, but within the Multiverse line itself.
  9. Are you TRYING to pick a fight with me? The point I'm trying to make is that I wouldn't be interested in most of what McFarlane has been doing with the DC license, even if they were in scale with Legends. I'm tired of all these "grim and gritty" DC character designs, whether they're from Elseworlds, Post-Apocalyptic futures, etc. Enough "Batman blended with ___________" characters, thanks.
  10. I wasn't talking about Batman Beyond, specifically, but the general direction DC's been going in. DCeased, Death Metal, Future State, etc. And that Joker/Batman/OMAC...thing just reeks of "edginess".
  11. I'm 120% DONE with most of what DC is doing right now. I'm SO very tired of Dystopian futures; how many times is DC going to trot out the same old crap? This is the fifth, or maybe sixth "dark future" storyline since Flashpoint. Yawn.
  12. Like I said before, money's tight. I have haven't been buying monthly comics for the past few years, because I've been broke. Like, I almost died of pneumonia from sleeping in a tent at a homeless shelter last year, broke. Even when I did have money for comics, I probably wouldn't have picked up a book that just had someone's first name as the title. That just wouldn't grab my attention. Add BMB's name on the cover, and I REALLY wouldn't waste money on it. The best Bendis story I've read was when Squirrel Girl babysat for Luke and Jessica; perfect use of Doreen's talents. I don't mean that as a knock against Squirrel Girl, but they got carried away with her after that. Miles, yes. RiRi STOLE her first suit. Titania threw her fight against Jane because "women gotta stick together". (Titania's villainous career is built on 2 things: her relationship with Absorbing Man, and her jealousy towards She-Hulk.) Which Guardian, though? Not the one Jack the King" Kirby created. But I can let that one go; they never really did right by Roy Harper in my opinion, and couldn't explore his relationship to Jim Harper correctly because of the multiverse thing, anyway. I did watch Black Lightning, and for the most part, I liked it. It DID get preachy at times, but I was OK with it. I REALLY didn't like what they did with Looker, and I would have preferred if Grace had been a Bana-Mighdall (Amazon) like in the comics. Again, multiverse shenanigans & DC/WB's weird internal rivalries. I'd LOVE to see a live action version of the Outsiders, but that's...unlikely. It saddens me that DC has technically had the rights to ALL of their characters at the same studio, but hasn't been able to get their act together to create a single, cohesive, shared universe. So far.
