And dont forget that round thing Golobulus flies around in...what is that thing anyway? Not sure exactly. He can't very well slither his way around all the time, so I'm guessing it's some sort of venus fly trap, hover pod thinga-muh-giggy? Destro had his Despoiler, Serpentor had his Air Chariot, so with the introduction of Golobulous they had to come up with HIS means of personal transport and flight? Well obviously its a means of transport, just wondering what a person would call it, its not a "chariot" and its not a "despoiler" so what would it be called?....a hoverpod maybe?

What About This For A Re-Release/Repaint Of Roadblock Verison 2
Mr Creed replied to A_Spidey_Fan's topic in G.I. Joe
"25th Anniversary" not Anniversity, and why not, a CC snake form would be different -
I was having that problem too, i repositioned him where his right leg is forward on the stand, and his left leg is back, kind of like hes taking a step forward, and i crouched his upper body down so that helps...he also looks like hes coming toward you with this sinister gaze on his face.

Just picked up the NE pack and i am really lovin this figure, i dont know what all the hate is for, hes actually a really well designed figure, hes probably one of my new favorites, besides the fact that hes the giant of the 25th line, he just looks great. I personally liked the Cobra-La characters as many fans dont, so having this guy makes me happy. Hope they do Pythona, Royal Guard and Golobulus at some point. Oh and the Falcon isnt bad, i just wish he was brown and black instead of green and black, hopefully we'll get a single carded version with a diff. paint job.

I don't know how you feel that way. The plastic in the new figures is far less brittle and prone to breakage, there is no O-ring that can snap (I know they can be replaced easily, but it is a point of temporary breakage), and if anything, the plastic is more resistant to scratching and cracking. And the paint seems less subject to wear. I think that they will stand up at least as well, if not better than the original line. If these new versions were getting the kind of rough play, from real BOYS that the original versions were getting (who actually PLAYS with these new toys anyway?) I would have to agree with gossamer that they would NOT stand the test of true kids play nor the test of time. The O-ring complaint is kind of flawed, in that I was a 20 something when I started collecting them, so my intentions with them are still the same today as they were back then, and I was not 8 years old and actually PLAYING hardcore war with Cobra in the sandbox with them or leaving them out in the rain and hot sun for hours and hours. My entire OLD collection of O-ringed figures are just as solid and intact TODAY as they were back then. The only O-rings I've ever had to replace were of those figures I'd bought off eBay and who KNOWS what they went thru above and beyond collector uses of them? They might have belonged to a REAL kid who REALLY played with them? These new versions have a lot more weak points and removable items that would never stand the same conditions put upon them, but Hasbro knows that's not the name of the game anymore, and you'd be hard pressed to find a couple of neighborhood young chaps playing out in the yard with their new JOE toys, like how you guys did in your youth. Anything that's painted on (especially the hands and faces) will chip and scratch just the same, as mine already have, just from removing masks or goggles while fiddling around with them for customs. No difference there. The plastic is almost TOO soft in some cases and will not hold a weapon. I guess I do feel the new style is inferior yet and only more detailed and somewhat better proportioned than the originals, but still inferior overall as an action figure toy. They're more concerned with collectability interests over a real boys toy like the older ones. I didnt think of it like that but you put it into words. My Joes did tours of duty in the jungles of my back yard. The Cities of my living room and the oceans of my bath tub. i do not consider these joes to be up to the same stresses as the old ones. I have purchased a few of the ones that were my favorites and have put them on the shelf and have given a few to my kids who had them destroyed within hours. Toys to me are for playing with not putting in glass cases. I guess as you start to get old you sound more and more like me. But that is a conversation for another board I see both your points, but im not sure if this line is intended to be roughly played with, if played with at all, from what i read and seen this is a display line, and not really meant to be played with like we did with the RAH ones when we were kids, so for what it is, no it wouldnt stand up to what the older ones could because they arent made for that i dont think. As we get older i think we lose some of our imaginitive play with all our action figures we collect nowadays, i never played with my Marvel Legends, i bought them for display and posing, even those wouldnt last like the 90's ones did i dont think. Its what these lines are directed at i think, and if thats the case, they do their job well.

I really do have to give thumbs up to Hasbro, with all the complaints, myself included, after over 2 decades of G.I.Joe, they have finally come out with figures true to their originals, with articulation and detail of sculpts we've always wanted. Perhaps a few slight changes here and there, but compared to the other recent waves ie; JvC and VvV, they have really started to get a grasp on things and thought about us oldskool Joe fans. This is the stuff we've all been waiting for since the relaunch of G.I.Joe since the late 90's early 2000, earlier perhaps. Im just really pleased to see this line come to life.

After reading this post, i stopped in my local Stop & Shop, those arent national i dont think, anyway saw some joes there which was a surprise to me seeing as its a grocery store and even my local TRU doesnt have anything, this store is only on wave 7 (which ever wave had the Vipers) but still i snagged a few more vipers and they had the Roadblock from that wave and i havent seen him anywhere

Same here. They're SLAMMING this stuff out so fast, that it seems some waves don't even see shelf life before another comes right in behind it, and usually in massive numbers, which makes me wonder if the prior wave EVER hit that local chain at all, or if it just sold out incredibly fast? I'd feel safe in assuming it isn't the later. A slower pace would be fine by me. I actually have to agree with both of you. The problem is, when they do release a wave, they release far too few figures for them to be found by all collectors in the short period of time they are available (I've yet to see Wave 9) and then they stop producing the wave, so more time would be better to find the figures. But by the same token, if they released the quantity of product that they should, on the dates when they were supposed to, fans would know when the stuff was arriving, and would be able to keep and eye out at that time, and find the figures they wanted from the waves at that time. Instead, they release product haphazardly across the US and Canada (sometimes) and fans don't know if or when the product is going to come in. In order for fans to find everything they want, Hasbro either: has to start adhering to release dates for products - so fans can find the stuff when it's supposed to be available; or, if they continue this disorganized distribution, give each wave more shelf life in order to allow fans to find the wave later when their local stores finally get the product. What I don't understand with Hasbro is why they only release the wave for one, or possibly two mintings of the figures and then discontinue it. Back in the 80s and 90s they would keep one 'wave' out for almost two years to ensure that it sells. Now with all their products, including mass release lines like Star Wars, they put out the wave, and as soon as the next wave is ready to ship, discontinue the previous one. Would it really be so difficult for Hasbro to keep 2 or maybe even 3 waves shipping at any given time? @lol@ Who doesn't love that feeling! I like knowing that something is imminent for arrival and that I can get it when it comes out. For waves 4 through 8, I relyed on release dates to get me to the stores on the days when cases were supposed to arrive, so I always had something to look forward to with anticipation. Similarly, I always anticipated the dates new Star Wars (my other hobby) books, comics etc. were to come into stores, and would be there on the day for my 'mini-christmas' of product arrival. However, lately this anticipation has turned to agony. Wave 9 was released over a month ago, and most stores even up here in Canada had release dates set for 2 to 3 weeks ago. When shipments came in, two stores respectively got 1 of 8 cases, and 4 of 60 cases. What hasbro shipped came no where close to meeting store orders or fan demand. Similarly, the new Clone Wars novel was suppsed to hit book stores on July 26, and while Chapters (Canadian counterpart of B&N) says the book is in the warehouse as of July 12, it won't be shipping to stores until August 19. If producers of a product set a release date, its great to anticipate that it is getting close, and you will be able to find the product you are looking for soon. But when the so called release date is long past and the product still hasen't arrived, the anticipation of a new product turns to irritation with the company for screwing around the customer. OK, rant over..... @can@ ^^Thank you^^Just what i was gettin at, just more eliquent

I agree with both of you in a way, seems like local areas dont get them when they are scheduled to be released, then the next wave hits and local stores still have stuff from early 08 or nothing at all, so in my area i never, or very rarely see anything new, if i see anything at all. i end up resorting to higher online prices just to make sure i definatley get them...and IF i do see them at retail ill have extras. im right outside NYC so youd think we would get more out here
-
well im complaining because its frustrating when you still havent seen waves that most people got 4 waves ago, i know its obviously not hasbro's fault, just localized dealers. Patience, sadly, is a virtue i do not possess
-
Lol, i still have some of these little guys from when i was a kid, dont think i ever knew their names tho, i have this guy (Matt Trakker) i have an old military general looking guy, a guy in a yellow stuntman suit, and two biker looking fellas. i loved these figures when i was young, id take the biker dudes to fill in the ranks of the dreadnoks tho.
-
that kind of irritates me also, they are never released when they say they will be, some of us might not see this wave until Nov. or Dec. if at all but at least the are releasing our favorite characters, still waiting for the rest of Zartans family
-
While i love getting new images of whats to come and all, but when i see something i REALLY want i.e classic Zartan, and find out that i have to wait at least 2 more months to get him...drives me crazy, we've had to wait at least 15-20 yrs to get a really good Zartan, now he's this close...but not close enough.
-
Now that we got Zartan in his original outfit, what are we gonna get for the Hall of Heroes version? A complete Devils Due look? cartoon look? hmmm.....i wonder
-
thanks for all your help guys, we'll see what works best, maybe i wont even have to change the hood..ill have to wait and see
-
The Eel looks good to me, and Zartan is EXCELLENT!, glad they changed the color of the hood and got rid of that clear part on his chest plate, the tips of the hood still bother me but easily fixable and a minor complaint, im extremely happy with this version and i hope they dont change him again before hes released. This is the ultimate Zartan in my book. The other figures in this wave i dont really care about except the Eel, better off that way i can save money. -Correction, my "definitive"version would be the one like my avatar, silver chest plate and thigh plates, black boots and shin guards. Looks like ill have a few extra Zartans anyway i can always customize him
-
yea i know how to get the heads off...i want to leave the head and just remove his hood
-
Thanks guys...anyone have an idea of the best way to switch Zartans hoods from the original 25th to the new one? hot water to loosen it up and an x-acto knife? what would you great customizers do ?
-
Dont know if anyone else has thought of this, but with Serpentors Air Chariot being too small for him to properly fit on it...and from the photos at SDCC of Zartan and his skier...it looks a little small and im worried that he wont fit on it...which will really suck, since we probably wont get another one, anyone else thought of this ?
-
thanks fellas, yea a photo would work well if its not too much trouble, seems kind of difficult
