Marvel Legnds BLUE WASP Vintage wave 2 Review by erivera94

I really need to get this, just for her head. It'll be perfect for a custom I'm working on.

Is 5 POA keeping you down?

Surely, truly, wholeheartedly missed. Don't get me wrong, it looks like there are some great 6" figures coming out, and I'm happy for those that either wanted a 6" line, or have started Star Wars collecting with the new 6" line, but after so many years and so much effort to build the 3.75" line I always wanted, there's just no way I can change scales. And changing scales would render all the vehicles I've amassed utterly useless. And, like I said before, I'm not going to start buying the 5-POA figures either. I'll just wait and hope that super-articulation comes back, and in the meantime, spend my money with companies that are kicking ass.

    "DC's Legends of Tomorrow"

I definitely want a figure of that Stargirl.
  5. I didn't buy a single TFA product, and I've been collecting 3.75" Star Wars as long as it's been around. Granted, the figures from the 70's were basically thrown around by my toddler self, and I didn't care about the authenticity of Hammerhead's outfit, but I digress. When the switch to 5-POA happened, I quit cold-turkey. And I agree with the earlier statement about movies coming out with no end in sight. That's why I'm just scaling my collection down to the OT era. If there are eventually some well-articulated 3.75" Rogue One figures, I'll gladly pick them up, because they fit in that era. But the idea of trying to track down 40-50 First Order stormtroopers just seems damned exhausting at this point.

Who says little plastic men & robots can't accessorize?

I think I lost all my Bat attachments in the first 24 hours...I was that kid who was so careless w/the "extras"...losing guns & backpacks....that's awesome that you made an hand out of tin foil...the one thing that disappointed me about the G.I. Joe 25th & 50th stuff was they didn't even try to do an "battlepack" set...give us some straight up repaints of classic joe weapons & provisions....a re-issue of the Joe Robot bomb squad....I know some Joe figs that came w/an armory's worth of items though....I got some plastic fishing lure containers at an garage sale so I'm going to go through my Joes & sort their small lives out... The fishing lure containers are great...I actually really need to do that with my Star Wars figures. But man, there are thousands of guns and lightsabers to go through.

Is 5 POA keeping you down?

As someone who has collected Star Wars my whole life, from the seventies until now, I've always wanted to more articulation in my Star Wars figures. So the move to 5-POA basically forced my hand to stop collecting Star Wars. It really sucks, but I've gotten used to it and haven't bought any of the Force Awakens stuff. And truly I wouldn't buy any 5-POA offering. That would be like suddenly deciding to buy VHS again. We've moved past it...there's no reason to backslide. Darth Maul, I get that the outrage drives you crazy, but as someone who always championed for better articulation in the Star Wars line, the move to 5-POA was just a giant kick in the pants. After so many years of Jedi holding lightsabers in one hand, and stormtroopers sitting straight-legged in vehicles like toddlers, it was awesome to have realistic figures. And for many years, I was ONLY collecting 3.75" Star Wars figures, so to have that line that I was so focused on for so long suddenly become a happy meal toy, just felt awful. But now people have supported the 5-POA backslide, so there's no incentive for these companies to introduce better articulation...and it quite possibly opens the gate for more companies to backslide.

    "The Flash" Discussion Thread

What are the rumors? Does she finally go full-on Killer Frost?
  9. I had this in-hand the other day but passed. I'm still going to pick him up, and I'll definitely give him red eyes. Looks like a solid figure, and I like the tachyon-emitter (or whatever the hell it's called).
  10. Masters of the Universe and Thundercats certainly crossed over from time to time, along with the Inhumanoids. In fact, Metlar was a villain for pretty much everyone, and Castle Greyskull was prime real estate. I also brought plenty of GI Joe figures into the Star Wars universe.

    Gotham Season 2

I get the idea that this is pretty much an elseworlds show, but I really would have liked to see more characters created specifically for Gotham, rather than young versions of Batman's rogues gallery. Right now it just feels too contrived.

    Aeon Flux

I used to love the short episodes of Aeon Flux. Didn't they originally have her die at the end of each one?

Who says little plastic men & robots can't accessorize?

I lost the "hand" attachment to my G.I Joe BAT about 10 minutes after I opened him, in my friend's front yard. Looked for it in the grass for hours, before deciding he was always going to use the gun attachment. Then I made him a new hand attachment out of tin foil. The fact that I still remember it after all these years should tell you how much I loved that figure. But I agree...the lack of accessories is pretty crappy. NECA has some great accessories with their figures, but I'd really love to see more companies putting thought into what should be included with their figures.

I think "...for some time" keeps it out of the Rogue One film timeline, but I'd like to see it appear in some form. I mean, there's a Jedi Conclave there during Knights of the Old Republic which gets destroyed, but that takes place thousands of years before ANH.

    The State Of The Hobby

I've collected 3.75" Star Wars for pretty much all my life, aside from the late 80's and early 90's, when there was nothing happening. When the Fruit Loops Han figure came out, I was back in the saddle until a couple years ago, when Hasbro turned their line into a 5-POA nightmare, I stopped cold turkey. It was tough, but I just couldn't support it anymore. My focus now is the 7"-ish scale, with a focus on DC and Sci-fi (NECA, DC Collectibles). I still love my Star Wars collection, though I've actually scaled the display back to just the Original Trilogy. I see NECA producing better and better figures, and I definitely feel like the quality is there. I'm not so sure about DC Collectibles. They showed so much promise, but lately it seems like they're floundering. It's a shame too...I was really looking forward to their movie line. Still hoping we actually get that BvS Wonder Woman.
