To be "invisible", this figure is very... visible. -
McFarlane Toys The Matrix Movie Maniacs
idrawcomics replied to toynewman's topic in Action Figure News
McFarlane's old Matrix figures looked better. -
Not sure how to post pics on here, but if you Google "Dusty Rhodes Bionic Elbow t-shirt", it will pull it up so you can see how different that "Y" looks. My wife knows less than nothing about professional wrestling, but when I showed her the pic of the figure, she even asked who "Dustt Rhodes?" was. lol I am sure they will fix it. Years ago, a prototype was shown of a Doloh Ziggler Elite, the one with the "It's too bad, I'm too good" shirt on, and it had a misprint as well, but I believe that one was fixed before they hit retail. After the whole Target exclusive Hall of Fame "Sargent Slaughter" fiasco though... that did make it to retail... I can't put anything past Mattel anymore.

I have seen other pics of the figure posted on ither sites, and I have also looked up the actual t-shirt, and the figures shirt does indeed have two "T"s. The forking of the "Y" on the actual shirt is much more pronounced and looks nothing like the "Y" on the figure's shirt. Others have posted the same reaction I had on other sites. They said it is most likely a mistake on a prototype that should be fixed before it ships to stores.

In image #66, does Kevin Owens' shirt say "DUSTT RHODES"" or "DUSYY RHODES"?! Either way, someone forgot to check their spelling! Way to go Mattel!

Super7 G.I. Joe Ultimates Wave 6 Figures
idrawcomics replied to toynewman's topic in Action Figure News
I kinda saw this coming. I even mentioned it when this wave was first announced. I remember thinking the timing was funny because I read this waves line-up the same day Super7 announced that they had lost the Disney license. Funny because Disney is very female-centric with their movies, especially Star Wars and Marvel, these days, and this felt like a very Disney-esque wave of nothing but three female characters. I have admired these figures from afar for a long time because of the pricing, but I finally found a Cobra Commander and SDCC (?) exclusive B.A.T for $25 each at Walmart, so I bit on old CC. Needless to say (to anyone who owns any of these), all of the joints were so loose, especially the torso and ankles, that I can't even get him to stand up straight without leaning him against something. $25 seemed like a steal at the time, but if I had collected the entire line, and had paid the full $55 each for them, I would have probably run out into oncoming rush hour traffic by now. -
I believe the figure would look much better if the sculpt matched the card art. I always picture the character as being really thin, and I agree that the cuts/scars should be sculpted, or maybe painted a little lighter to more closely resemble realistic scarring. Figure looks more like he went crazy on himself with a Sharpie.

Why does that headsculpt remind me of Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers?

Penguin needs pin stripes on those pants.

I spent quite a bit of time with Todd McFarlane at MegaCon in Orlando waaaasaaaaaaay back in '96, and unless Spawn is about 4'8", that McFarlane that comes with him is way too tall.

A24 Zac Efron-as-Kevin Von Erich Action Figure
idrawcomics replied to toynewman's topic in Action Figure News
$48 for this thing?! Sheesh... Lots of toy companies say the cost of figures represents the work that goes into them... sculpts, articulation, paint apps, etc... This monstrosity just proves that companies ask whatever they want, simply because they can. There is nothing about this thing that would warrant an almost $50 price tag.
