  1. Lena Headley was as perfect for Evil Lyn as Sarah Michelle Gellar was wrong for Teela. That’s not a knock on SMG, I’ve always liked her. But her voice was just too soft and high for a soldier like Teela.
  2. Everyone seems to comment on the headsculpt on this guy. But honestly that’s the least of what I don’t like about it. He looks like Ralphies brother in The Christmas Story.
  3. I just got my Valaverse figures yesterday and I'm really impressed. But I passed on Sarge here and have no regrets. That headsculpt looks like an awful cartoon of a human.
  4. I was so confused as to why they weren’t releasing Phoebe, arguably the main character, with everyone else. Given the spoilers nature of the second figure I GUESS it makes sense?
  5. I have no desire to see any more of Whedon’s work after all of the recent revelations of his behavior. But I still find it funny that people look at his work on a film that he literally was brought into when it was 90% filmed and give him crap for how terrible it is. If nothing else, the Snyder Cut proved that there was not a good film there. An extremely LONG film? Sure. But not good.
  6. Is that something the someone from WB or one of the licensees has said publicly? Or just a rumor from figure websites? Flashpoint Batman had pistols, as have multiple Jokers. So do tons of Mafex DC figures, although I guess it could be a regional licensing thing.
  7. I loved PoP too, but honestly I can’t imagine a live action version would be anything like it.
  8. Lol, Spawn has been around for about 30 years now. I was reading it back when it first launched and had a huge impact on the comics world. It didn’t come close to putting the big two out of business then; the odds are virtually zero that it’s going to now.
  9. While I understand this point of view for Origins, I'm not sure how it applies for Masterverse? So far there's been only one He-Man figure, and two (very different) Skeletors. Personally He-Man was the second hardest to find for me behind Evil-Lyn. But aside from SkeleGod, every single character in the first 3 waves is unique and evenly packed.
  10. 100%. I'm not collecting the McFarlane figures but I actually want this for other Batman figures. The previous little tricycle was just goofy.
  11. I really hope all the whining from RAH collectors doesn’t mean Hasbro is just going to make direct 6inch versions of the 80s figures, because this Road Block and Breaker are horrifically boring to look at. I understand not everyone loves the modern flourishes on the newer figures but I think there’s a middle ground between metallic Fortnite and dull nostalgia fest like these.
  12. I backed the Action Force line, and I’m still excited for it, but I completely agree. I mostly avoid reading any of Vala’s posts unless they are specifically about updates to the Kickstarter. The stuff he writes is whiney, angry, and just basically makes him seems like a mean spirited jerk who attacks any line that isn’t his. Never once have I read something from one of the Marauder team bad mouthing the actual Joe line. They just put their money where their mouth is and make the best product they can. If people like it then they win. Vala could learn a big lesson there.
  13. There really is no “Snyderverse” moving forward. They’re continuing with the already established characters, but rewriting the history as necessary to fit future movies. The Flash seems to be the key to reworking things so that they aren’t tied to the older movies while still keeping the parts they want.
  14. No, it's definitely just you. Not every move they make is perfect, but I'd say this is one of the strongest lines being produced atm.
  15. That’s an interesting take, and may be true in your local area, but certainly not one that holds true across the US. I travel constantly for work and wind up checking out stores across the country and there’s no discernible difference between the availability of MCU figures vs Comic figures.
  16. Tough set for me. The Batman looks great but and I want the unmasked head. I don’t really want Flash but he looks solid. But I NEED a Cavill Superman head that doesn’t look like a pasty mess to put on my properly colored BvS Supes. I’ll probably just take the head and sell the stupid black suited Superman that made no sense whatsoever.
  17. WW3 is definitely moving forward, with both Jenkins and Gadot. WB already announced that back in January. WW84, by COVID metrics, was still a decent success for them because a ton of people watched it on HBOMax. It may have been terrible, but then so was BvS and they still let Snyder make Justice League.
  18. I think their motivation was clear from the start; WB had a brand new streaming service that no one was subscribing to and they needed something to drive new viewers. That's really it. I seriously doubt there was ever any intention of following up on the Snyder films because, quite frankly, most of the films they've released since Snyder left have been far better recieved. (Though obviously not all... *sideeye's WW84). Honestly, even as a fan of Snyders earlier, non-DC films, I've very glad they're changing direction. I enjoyed the first half of MoS, but absolutely LOATHE BvS with every fiber of my being. The Snyder Cut of JL was fairly entertaining but only underscored that his vision of most of the characters is not one I'm interested in.
  19. You’re not wrong at all. They’re using the HeMan bucks for this line so the anatomy has the same over exaggerated proportions from MOTUC. It’s too bad but I can understand why they did it.
  20. of coarse. disney has it's hand in just about every piggy bank, so why not bring the SW home to marvel? personally, DH has done a great job and all when (as you said) SW was all but forgotten. disney is just a money machine, they dont really care about loyalties or how great of a job DH has been doing. they just want to pad their own pockets. we'll see how well they do. Haha, the best part of Disney buying Lucasfilm has been the ridiculous posts that it elicits from some fans. While yes, Disney is indeed out to make money, the idea that they should pay billions of dollars for the Star Wars license and then, instead of moving the SW comics publishing to Marvel which they own, continue to use an outside company like Dark Horse is ridiculous. Why would they do that? I LOVE Dark Horse, but they didn't have the SW license because they were BFFs with Lucasfilm , it's because they PAID for it. And as far as doubting the quality of comics that haven't even been created yet, what would possibly lead any rational person to believe that Marvel can't produce good Star Wars comics? They have an incredibly deep talent pool and have a number of awesome books on the market now. Yes, they also produce some crap but so does Dark Horse. Sorry but whether you like Disney or not, comments like these are dumber comic they could produce.
  21. It's really the exact opposite. Disney clearly has it's OWN plan and is following through on it. It doesn't matter how big they are, they didn't spend 4 billion dollars on a property with knowing how they are going to proceed. I'm not saying it will definitely be GOOD and obviously current fans will miss out on some things that could have turned out great (like 1313), but they know exactly what they want to do with Star Wars. The lack of toys is not because Disney said "NO MORE TOYS!". Hasbro owns the licencing rights to Star Wars brand toys (at least for the next few years) and they are in control of whether figures are made, not Disney (and not Lucasfilm before them). The current lack of product is because either Hasbro was already scaling back BEFORE the Disney acquisition or because they are waiting to see what new direction Disney is going to take the brand so they can start making toys to support it.
