Warner Bros. Is Moving 'The Flash' Up A Week In June 2023
glhshelby replied to Outsiders's topic in Entertainment News
I agree that it’s a bad situation, but it’s also more than just “they think they can make money”. It’s more a matter of they’ve already SPENT a ton of money and if you include all the merchandising it would screw both WB and all of their retail partners.- 11 replies

Would You Buy A G.I. Joe Classified Haslab Dragonfly Assault Copter?
glhshelby replied to JayC's topic in Action Figure News
Honestly not sure if I would, simply due to space issues. But I think it sounds like a great project! That said, at this point I absolutely do not believe it. That someone could be disgruntled with Hasbro and leave a job? Sure. That they would sabotage their own career by posting details of a major upcoming project? And thereby potentially damaging that project and inviting a lawsuit? That would be a very stupid contractor. -
Assuming this is an ego thing for Gunn is ignoring a few things. A. No one has said that he is writing or directing the new Superman film. He’s in charge of managing the direction of the franchise, but they haven’t announced his involvement in any particular films. B. You’re assuming this was entirely his idea when there’s fairly strong evidence that it wasn’t. Gunn still works for David Zaslov, who has clearly and specifically stated that he wants to completely restart the DCU. C. As good as Cavill is in the role, the negative PR impact this has on future films is pretty small. The exact same people who were going to see Cavill in Superman 2 will be going to see whichever actor is in the new one.

Prince Adam is very welcome news. I hope they do base him on his Revelations design as it was a solid translation for him. A completely different build than He-Man without seeming like a tiny weakling. That Skeletor design would be great as well. I’ll skip the others but they’re both solid choices. While the construction of the Masterverse figures has some issues, their character choices have been pretty consistently solid.

To each their own, but I’ve never understood the dislike for Lady Jaye. The fact that she didn’t look like a model works for me and sets her apart. But then I keep hearing people bash the new Dusty and I dont understand that either, so I guess I’m not aligned with what some Joe collectors are looking for.

DC Multiverse Kon-El Superboy Figure Preview From McFarlane Toys
glhshelby replied to JayC's topic in Action Figure News
It’s definitely just Todd wanting to be Todd. -
Damn. I’ve really tried to stay away from McFarlanes DC stuff, and it’s mostly been easy since I’m not a DC guy. But Tim Drake is my Robin, and his classic costume is my Robin look. I couldn’t care less about Damian and I didn’t have any interest in Red Robin, but I think they got me with this one.

I was literally on their website about 4 days before the news broke trying to order all the Inquiry based variants from Picard. I think I literally got distracted by a phone call and forgot about it. Lucky break.

Leslie Grace Shows Off The New Batgirl Costume
glhshelby replied to JayC's topic in Entertainment News
Sure, except the people making the decisions now aren’t the same people making the decisions when the film was made. This is a wild situation but these sort of decisions get made all the time when a new management team takes over. They want to put their stamp on everything moving forward and consider any money spent by the previous team as a sunk cost. Its ridiculously extreme that they literally don’t want to show the movie ANYWHERE but it makes more sense as a corporate political decision than that the movie was just bad. They release terrible films all the time. It it had to do with quality they would just shove it out to HBOMax and not market it at all. -
HasLab G.I. Joe Classified HISS Tank is LIVE!
glhshelby replied to JayC's topic in Action Figure News
The big difference is that, unlike paid DLC, these don’t actually cost buyers any more. Anyone who bought a HISS on the first day is still paying the same amount of money now as they were then. I agree the canopy and side skirts aren’t that exciting, but I’m happy to have them anyway. Maybe I’ve been through too many crowdfunding campaigns, but this is just how the process works. -

I’m wondering if you’re misunderstanding how the Early Bird goal works (my apologies if not). If they reach 8000 backers by the Early Bird date, then ALL of the project backers get the figure, even the backers who don’t pledge until later. It’s really just a normal stretch goal that incentivizes backers to pledge earlier rather than later. I don’t think it works against meeting the other stretch goals. -
I guess it’s a matter of perspective. The sculpt on the Revelations figure looks excellent to me.

The CW Cancels 'DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow' After Seven Seasons
glhshelby replied to Outsiders's topic in Entertainment News
I stopped watching all the DC shows right around season 2 of Legends, but I think the goofy fun nature of it was exactly what made it last. It was always doing something different. Whereas shows like the Flash started off great but wound up repeating the same tired storylines over and over endlessly. -
Target Exclusive Batman Beyond 5-Pack From McFarlane Toys?!?
glhshelby replied to JayC's topic in Action Figure News
I literally have never bought any of the McFarlane line until I finally broke down and decided to get the Beyond figures, sort of a mini collection since nothing in the line fits with anything else. And now they’re all coming in a nice little multipack. -
DC Multiverse 7" Grifter And Hush 2-Pack Official Images And Details

Hush and Grifter - two characters I’ve always associated with… swords and big knives? -
Valaverse Exclusive 6" Action Force Sgt. Slammer Figure Details
glhshelby replied to JayC's topic in Action Figure News
This is still the only AF figure I’ve passed on. I love the line but that heads cult is just goofy. -
What’s confusing? They haven’t announced any changes and things are releasing at a good rate. (I agree that the seemingly poor sell through at Targets doesn’t look great for the future, but I guess we’ll see). Personally, despite the first half of the season getting most of the negative attention, it was by FAR the stronger of the two. The second half was a bit of a mess.

DC Multiverse 7" The Batman Figures From McFarlane Toys Revealed
glhshelby replied to JayC's topic in Action Figure News
I would hope so, but keeping things in consistent scale hasn’t been an area where McFarlane has excelled so far. -
Lena Headley was as perfect for Evil Lyn as Sarah Michelle Gellar was wrong for Teela. That’s not a knock on SMG, I’ve always liked her. But her voice was just too soft and high for a soldier like Teela.
