  1. Where in Southern California are you? I've seen the figures at TRU and specialty stores like FYE and Suncoast, but I've yet to see one at Walmart or Target in SoCal. Do you remember what the price point was for the figures? Hi, Smeagol4Prez. Remember moi? Probably not. Oh, well. I've seen Hobbit stuff at Toys 'R' Us, Books-A-Million and K-Mart here. K-Mart of all places had the most impressive display and quantity I cleaned 'em out of Grinnahs. I'd actually pre-ordered everything from BBTS, though. I've never seen the Goblin King nor the Gandalf/Bolg 2-pack in a store. It doesn't seem to be selling well locally. Especially @ TRU. I think I'm the only person who's bought anything of what they received. :/ I do remember you .. It's really good to hear from old acquaintances. Around this area the pegs are usually about 3/4 full, which means there's little interest in the line or the store is going a good job of replenishing stock. Let's hope it's the second.. or else we'll see an even smaller supply come for Desolation of Smaug because retailers are weary about stocking inventory that didn't sell well in the past.
  2. I've come across quite a few finds at flea markets. The most recent pick for me was an original G1 Transformers Soundwave with box. The figure was complete, the box had some wear, but for $30 it was a steal. I usually go to at least 2 flea markets a month, not necessarily for the toys, but just to browse around to look at all the cool stuff. If I end up finding something it's just an added bonus.
  3. Hey there, Ever since The Fellowship of the Ring came out over a decade ago, I've been a huge fan of everything Middle Earth related, whether it be the movies, books, toys, I collect them all, and with the recent release of The Hobbit, I felt it was time to get something up. Here's the site - http://thehobbitcentral.com , it caters to all fans of middle earth. The site took a little bit of time and is still a work in progress, but I've slowly been creating an archive of all major toy and collectible releases associated with The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, and the site is updated daily with current news. I'm not really trying to compete with this site.. as I think the TOYNEWSI site is an awesome site for all things toys, and I've been a regular lurker for some time now. Thanks in advance if you decide to check it out, and any feedback is much appreciated.
