  1. They do not have die cast in them. They are all plastic. Mine are in next week as well so anyone who has placed a preorder for these should be getting them within two weeks. Spencer.
  2. Someone keeps pointing me to these threads, sorry. These should show up at mass retail maybe sometime for the end of 2007. Nothing has been confirmed yet but Happywell is in negotiations with several large stores for order. They will NOT be $10 ANYWHERE in the US. I will guarentee that. If Big lots does carry them, the cheapest they could possibly be is $15 but that is pushing it. Knowing costs and general large retailer markup, I think $17.99 to $19.99 would be a fair bet. Because Happywell and I work very well together, I have started www.roadbots.com and because of that I will ensure that any large retailer that will be getting these will be posted when I have the info. Happywell is very happy with the push that has been made so far on these and are continuing to develop the line. When there is new stuff to show, www.roadbots.com will have the new information. There is email available off the roadbots site and any specific questions regarding these will be answered. Hope that helps with some info. Spencer.
  3. I don't think they are even trying anymore. Classics looked like it had huge potential but the LOC repaints and now this thing? Hasbro may as well just put their hands IN your wallet now. That is just silly. Spencer.
  4. the quality I would say is the same as any large toy. It is plastic but not knock off plastic as many believe them to be. The cars are all painted very well and not just coloured plastic. They have been designed with the car mode as forethought and the robot mode as an afterthought and that does show for many of them. Some of the robot limbs are kind of lame and could use a little more detail to them. Head sculpts are OK but again could use a little more development. The new heads seem to be better than some of the older ones. Rubber tires and lots of chrome. They are worth $20 IMO if not for size alone. The 1:12 scale ones are huge. You can see some comparison images here: http://www.agesthreeandupforum.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=878. Each one has its good points and each one has its flaws. Some can be posed great while others are a little bit lacking. As I said before, the car modes are all great. Car logs, opening doors, trunks and hoods, lights and sounds. There is a lot of appeal to these, if you can put asside that they are NOT Transformers name brand. Spencer.
  5. Loblaws who owns Superstore bought a container of the Land Cruiser earlier this year. They have distributed all of these to their stores across Canada. So far no one in the US has imported any of these but that will soon be changing. I am importing the whole line of these due to arrive stateside in November. To help promote this a few of the Roadbots are going to be given out for free. You can view the details on www.roadbots.com and enter the contest there. I have received Samples of almost all of them except the Lamborghini which is still in final Production. I believe that we are going to be the getting some of the first ones done. So far I have been very happy with them. While there is for sure some Alt influence in them, they are different toys. You can really see that in the later ones which are very differnt than the first ones. I mean, lets face it, there are only so many ways you can make a car into a Robot. Spencer.
  6. many thanks. Spencer. - anyone want to trade for one with hair?
  7. Did a check to see if this has been covered but did not come up with much. What is with the Spider Woman with no hair. I ordered a few of them and was a little bit dissapointed when they came in with no hair. I have always liked the red and yellow costume and thought it would be cool to get this figure. One and I could think it was a packing error or something but to get two of them? Is it an exclusive or something? I mean, is Diamond Secelct not a kind of exclusive already? Spencer.
  8. how odd, I was told that each case would have at least 1 of the wolverine variants in it so you could complete the set ... Quite frankly its not worth buyign the cases if they didn't ship them like that... Why is it @can@ allways has the need to get screwed in one way or the other? This was regarding the Face off cases, not the Giant man cases. The giant man cases come with all 10 figures needed for the Giant man. Spencer
  9. The cases that were sent to specialty retailers were packed different than the Wal Mart ones as well. Every third case you would buy may have one set of the variants in them. It was a little surprising when they came in to find so few of the variants in the boxes. This does mean that there are a lot more variants in the US than there would be in Canada. Spencer
  10. There was a trailer done by Justitoys but it is a little short and noticable when with the Prime. Another company did a trailer that transforms and is offered by kooltoys.ca but it is more of a knock off than anything else. If there is someone who can translate the text then it may offer some information if this is just an empty trailer or if it opens up and has cool stuff inside. This is a cash grab, I am sure, on Tomy's part. Now that they hold Takara I am sure you will see more of this type of thing. I am also sure you will see all the jet molds done as well. I would not mind seing a Dirge, Thrust and Ramjet with minor wing remolds as well. I would get them all. Spencer.
  11. Got some new images of the Atari and Smallest Transformers that are up and coming. You can view the images Here. Spencer.
  12. I got the info direct from my supplier. It is true. Comes with a tag of 18000 yen putting it around the $200 mark in NA, $230 or so for Canadians. Spencer.
  13. From what I have been told they will not be in CDN Walmarts. This is why they were offered to Canadian retailers as well. Your best bet would be someone like Outer Reaches who may get them a little later but you can be assured a set or a whole case. Preorder pricing is good from them or other retailers in Canada.
  14. That makes a little more sense to me. Asking $25 for a $10 figure is a little outrageous. That would qualify more for scalper material than just assuming he bought them at Walmart. Even if he did buy them at Walmart, I don't think these will be too hard to come buy. It is going to be much harder in Canada where they will not be at CDN Walmarts. Spencer.
  15. According to my supplier, this is Tomy's way of playing catch up. Tomy is much better at meeting demands for product unlike Takara has done in the past. They did the same with items like their remote R2 D2 figure that they did 3 production runs for. I think we will be seing a few good things out of this merger. Spencer.
  16. This one does BEG for repaints. The question is how bad will they gouge us with the number of repaints they will do. Spencer.
  17. I think this one will be my last of the BT line. I am tired of all the repaints and waiting between releases. They are going to have to do something really cool to get me back and Rumble is not going to be it. Spencer.
  18. The Diaclone Comercials were great IMO. I wish Hasbro did something along the same lines. Spencer.
  19. They are due in Aug so they should be ariving in NA Sept sometime. I am hoping for the shoulder pads and cape myself. Can't have the crown without them as well. Spencer.
  20. Well, you sure put me in my place. Thank you. Spencer - I feel so ashmed.
  21. Walmart exclusive does not always mean only Walmart smart guy. Perhaps you should take a look out there and check to see how many other retailers are also offering this set. I am not saying he is a scalper or not but it seems like it is so easy to jump on someone without getting all the facts first. Guess that is so easy when you are behind a computer screen. Spencer.
  22. I am sorry but how do you know he got them at a Wal Mart? You guys do realize these are being offered to retailers other than Wal Mart? Please get off your high horses and just assume he is a scalper. There are legit buisness out there as well you know. Speaking of dumba$$es......... Spencer.
  23. And this is confirmed? Seems kind of stupid to make one of the pieces come with a variant. Don't think that is going to piss off a lot of people? Esp those who order cases and can't complete a BIF because they need one small piece? Just seems a little far fetched. Spencer.
  24. $15 a pop? I was just solicited these from Tomy for the Japanese market. They are going to be even more expensive there. Try $22 a pop over there. I was only offered three of them tho, Luke, Darth and Boba. None of the others came in this offer. Only thing I like about buying Japanese, they pack everything in solid cases. I can get 2 cases of Vader but only 1 of Luke, if I were to be crazy enough to actually buy these from japan. Spencer
