Yeah both lines are updating constantly, till they run out of molds and paint schenmes. For example the Insecticons have just been released as a set of three in the takara collection.

My choice is obviously takara , They cost a bit more than the hasbro line, but they are better overall. The hasbro line might be cheaper to you in Canada tough. If I'm not mistaken both lines' boxes have bookstyle opening front flaps. And of course no megatron in the Hasbro line, but I mentioned that already. Shorter smokestacks for prime. And I think Takara has reissued more than Hasbro. I'm not trying to bash Hasbro, but at least in reissues Takara has the edge.

This is what the Takara collection looks like, the Hasbro line mimics the original 80's boxes. The takara collection is japanese, and is more accurate to the original line, whereas the Hasbro line has odd sized big missiles. Oh and that megatron is only in the Tkara line

Yes, Alternators and Binaltech are the real life actual cars. If it is really old school, Id recommend the Takara re-issu collection, but then again completing it could be a pain.

I think I won't see a new Scrapper anytime soon then . That must be why he is the only of the Micromaster constructicons wich hasn't been named his G1 name.

Alternators, or you could go the extra mile and get Binaltech versions, wich are just slightly better, albeit more expensive.

I grew up on a little island, we had three toy shops. I remember going to them shops and pick up every box to stare at the toys. I still fondly remember one of the shops had Jetfire. Back then that was so unreachable. Wich reminds me, I still need to find a nice minty MIB Jetfire.
