  1. Not bad looking figures TBH, but since McFarlane supposedly owns the master license for ALL of DC, is there ever any intention to do any non-Batman related material? I mean, between the first two waves and the upcoming Metal wave it looks like McFarlane has a one track mind, which is no surprise because he just seems to do whatever the hell wants to do anyway, with zero to little regard to what fans actually want, but you would think DC itself might find it necessary to eventually intervene and get some product for some of their other IP's into production. As I recall, there are some fairly prominent stories involving Superman, Green Lantern, The Flash and Wonder Woman that have a pretty impressive roster or characters to pull from. Just saying.
  2. This is pure speculation, but with the way the Hollywood takes it's liberties with characters and their origins I'm willing to bet Beachhead is probably Snake Eyes' alter ego in some sort of origin story before he becomes Snake Eyes therefore involved in the new movie. Like I said, pure speculation.
  3. I agree, in the sense that the cloth uniform was pretty much the figures gimmick back then. That, and a bunch cool weapons. But these days, in the day of lack of accessories, I think they might be happy with eliminating half the gimmick and just include the additional weaponry. Again, reference the MOTUC figure, where this is exactly what they did.
  4. This is the kind of specialty product that Mezco should be concentrating on. Sure all the Marvel and DC stuff looks cool, but there isn't anything there that isn't suitably done by other companies at a much more reasonable price. I don't need or want an Infinity War Captain America at $80+ when Hasbro's doing a decent one at a fraction of the cost, but this....this is something I really like and really want that I'm pretty confident no one else is doing right now. Since I'm no longer collecting DC Multiverse since McFarlane took over and forced it into his "7 comfort zone, which he doesn't even do all that well, I have some disposable income that I might just be inclined to spend on this thing.
  5. Who's excited about this thing? The animated toys are not only hideous, they are outright lazy. This is putting a different shade of lipstick on the same pig. I'm not sure why it took so long for some places to get these but they've been at my local WM for about 2 weeks now so I'm sure it's not a Target exclusive and though the Golden Wonder Woman has sold pretty well, I'd say no more than 2 or 3 of this Batman have sold.
  6. I assume they would do a soft plastic lay over similar to how the MOTUC version was done. just a guess, however it seemed to work pretty well. PS. I wonder if they'll even be able to call him Ninjor. When the MOTUC one came out they had to change his name to Ninja Warrior because another company, probably Bandai with it's Power Rangers brand, had the rights to the name Ninjor.
  7. This is spot on. You may not be fans of the specific properties but you have to respect what they've done with them and at the same price point of companies that do much less. They are much like Toybiz when they broke out and the company does employ talent from TB, Mattel and McFarlane. This is both an advantage and a weakness because as their quality and performance versus cost ratio starts to expose other companies like Mattel and Hasbro I fear they will all just team up on the little guy once again and put them out of business as they did TB. That's the real story. Anything on Wikipedia is nothing but a watered down diversionary fairy tale. As for the properties I'd like to see, I would love for DC to give them a crack at a 6" line. I am not a fan of the way McFarlane insisted on doing a 7" line and I've not collected a single DC figure since it started. And to be honest, they look good but I'm very unimpressed by the articulation and accessories. It seems that since McFarlane sticks to the 7" scale that the license may allow a 6" line to be awarded to another company under another name like DC Gold or DC Prime rather than the DC Multiverse that was awarded to MFT. With both MFT and Jazzwares having rights to same properties like Halo and Fortniteat 6" and 7" scales respectively, I don't see why they can't do it with DC as well. All due respect to DC toy fans who've been quick to MFT's defense as they are either truly happy with the 7" scale or have convinced themselves they are okay with the 7" scale, but I think it was a mistake on MFT's part and a big mistake on DC's part to allow them to take it to 7". I know for a fact that they are losing out on a big chunk of the fan base by not making the figures compatible with Marvel Legends and other lines. Many people consider ML the standard and like it or not many fan of DC and non-fans alike were counting on finally having a quality DC line to go toe to toe with what Hasbro's done with Marvel and there are a lot of non DC fans that still collected Mattel's DC Multiverse just so they could Batman and Captain America or Thor and Superman duke it out. I know they've lost my money and I've moved on to Jazzwares' Fortnite figures just for their cool designs, superior articulation and awesome accessories. This could have been DC's action figure future.
  8. I dig these. Like I said in another post, I don't particularly like the gimmicks of all the characters, but the figures themselves hit me right in the nostalgia while improving on the old MOTU design as a whole.
  9. I disagree, but that's what discussion boards are for. I get that some people may not like the concept or design as they try to fit the wrestlers gimmick with the character, and believe me, the Rey Mysterio Booyaka Tribe thing was ridiculously laughable and juvenile. I was more commenting on the redesign of the toys themselves. They still have that old school look but with much better articulation and sharper facial sculpts. I'm sure it's not everyone's cup of tea, but to outright call them bad seems a bit unfair.
  10. Most companies that pick up a MK license only end up doing a few select characters. If McFarlane can manage to get the majority of characters in this line I might have to start collecting them.
  11. I cannot wait for these. I know they're going to break my bank but damn. Based on the Masters of the WWE Universe figures, these are going to be amazing.
  12. So random and unexpected and from what I can tell, unrequested. This comes out of nowhere but I want it. Richard Simmons, Bob Ross, such icons from my early childhood. Whatever you have to do NECA, please, please, please secure a license to do a mister Rogers action figure ASAP.
  13. Nope. It was a total mistake on my part. I had been looking at Mezco products earlier. Just had Mezco on the brain.
