  1. Today's episode was awesome! I loved how Richard tricked Impulse, it was such a "Batman" thing to do. I liked the close-up of Barry's Flash logo when he transformed, it reminded me of the John Wesley Shipp series whenever they would do a close up of the Flash logo in the opening sequence. It looks like Impulse is stuck in the past now, and it also looks like the writers are doing something similar to Bishop and "Days Of Future Past" with this episode and possible storyline. The time travel story maybe the key to why the show went 5 years into the future. I'm also glad that they finally found the real Roy Harper. It doesn't help that they went the way of "Requiem For a Dream" with his missing forearm and all... I know that the 70's comics had him as a junkie, and that's obviously not the reason why hes missing his arm on the show. But in the comics he did lose his arm as Red Arrow, I wonder what the reason for his lost arm will be on the show. Also I noticed that the real Roy's voice sounded slightly different from the clone, and looked a little younger too. Anyway this episode was great. Looks like next week's episode will feature Superman and senior members of the Justice League, I cant wait.
  2. What did you expect, Time Warner owns both DC and Warner Bros, which is why the Hollywood influence is there. For years now the media has been slowly trying to turn men into women, and women into men... If anyone doesn't think that its true, just open your eyes and look at western society. What do you mean men into women. I ask since I can follow up with that An example of "men into women" is the whole metrosexual thing. Also the whole "Emo" thing.... Also the way that many males (especially during the mid to late 2000's within Hip Hop culture), were letting their hair grow out long, wore earrings on both ears, wore pink shirts or pants, referring to each other as "baby", and some even started having their nails done. Look at the way that society has been trying to make a fashion statement, by making some men believe that its cool to use a "satchel"... I don't care what anyone says, that's a fckin purse... I'm all for hygiene and believe that everyone should have clean nails (men and women), but if "straight" guys are going out of their way and having them done and painted, that is something else completely. Look at how many males have been conditioned through the media (movies, TV shows, etc.), to be afraid or subservient to women. Many males have become afraid to approach women, where in past generations men courted women without the fear of rejection. In some sitcoms men in marriages have been told to get a vasectomy, because the wife "doesn't want to have any more kids"...and its looked as being acceptable. Look at how many males have been taught to walk away, if someone confronts them physically. Now I'm not saying that a male should get into a fight with everything that moves, but if someone attacks you physically, then put that person in their place physically as well. Men by nature are supposed to be aggressive and the more dominant of the two genders, but instead our society has been slowly trying to take that away from newer generations of males. Many people may not agree with my view, and that's fine to each his own. But I was brought up with old school values when it comes to gender roles, and just because modern society considers something "cool" or "acceptable", it necessarily doesn't always mean that its right or ethical. Oh, okay. I asked because there was a movement of making less manly men sexy durng the turn of the century. From what I had learned in Sociology class a few years ago, society tried to make the less manly men more desirable by making depicting musculanity an undesireable trait. In constrast, they make men who are weaker, but more wealthy more desirable. These men are obviously still in power. My point is that society controls what he like or don't even if we know it or not. Like I was saying earlier with Asian men being femanized and Asian women being desirable, that is due to western society even if it wasn't done on purpose. Exotic women are desirable no matter what skin color they are; we humans tend to want things that our "rare" or out of "reach". Since Asian women (or any ethnic group from a third world country) are stereotyped as being passive and obedient to their husbands, people in the west finds them desirable especially after the women rights movement - some feel that American women are too indepedent, so they prefer women from other countries. I can tell you that Asian women being passive is largely a myth. They seem passive and obedient is because that is how western media depict them as. I remember reading an article years ago where mail order marriages between a Chinese woman and a western man in Hong Kong tends to end up in divorce because of misconception about both ethnic groups and culture clashes. Likewise, a lot of my friends who are of color (Asian, Black, etc..) have this misconception that Caucassian blonde women are the holy grail when it comes to women because of what Hollywood depict them as. To quote my friend, who is of South American and Flippino ancestry, "White women are like God's gift to the world - they have smooth white skin, are freaky in bed, and are the most beautiful race overall". I think white women are desirable to minorities because they have lots of exposure in movies and tv. They are also of a different ethnic group, makes them "exotic" and therefore, desirable. Sorry for my rant, but I think the media controls what we want and don't want. Hey man its cool, and I agree with you completely. I have no idea why Hollywood portrays Asian men as less manly, if anything most of the Asian males that I have met that were not born or raised in America, were far from effeminate or submissive. They were old school in terms morality, honor, and respect. I also like how in Asian cultures specifically Chinese culture, the elderly are revered. I can relate to that, because I was brought up to respect my elders. Now about the "independent" American women that you are talking about, its not that they are "independent" its that they have been spoiled and have become high maintenance due to all the bullsht that school and the media pushes. From personal experiences I have seen that many of these "independent" and "empowered" feminazi women usually end up single or completely alone. That's unless they hook up with a man-gina that's willing to become their subservient slave. The thing is no male with a pair of balls, is going to put up that bullsht. See these kinds of women have this false belief that they will be able to pick and choose whomever they want, because they think they will be young forever. Notice that most women that have the stuck-up c*nt "my sht dont stink" attitude, usually change when they hit their 30's or 40's... that's because their "clock" is ticking, and unlike most men, women can only have children up to a certain age. So they put aside all the bullsht if they want to find a man that will give them kids, or just want to get with them as a companion. The alternative to natural procreation is the test tube baby method, which in the media is a favorite for some couples. And those who refuse to change their feminazi mentality, usually end up alone like I said before. I would be considered a "minority" in this country, and I can tell you right now that I do not believe that blondes are the be all and end all of women. I have been attracted to women of all races, backgrounds, and ages (under 70 years old though), just as long as I'm attracted to them. But I have always had a preference for naturally jet-black haired or brunette women. Even though I have seen blondes that are attractive, I cant really relate to those "minority" males that die for blondes though. I also agree with you about the media being responsible for controlling what people like or don't like. I would really like to talk more about this, but I wouldn't want somebody to get a stick up their ass and start banning people.

  5. Man first Georgie-boy becomes a landlord, now this? Here's a picture of Georgie through the years. By the way that's not a green screen in the background, its just billions upon billions of Georgie's dollars, compressed together which gives the illusion of a green screen... People don't know this but Georgie hasn't made any public appearances himself in the last few years...since 2005 at least... People instead have been talking to a CG hologram of George Lucas instead...just look at the 2012 picture for that one... Those pictures represent Lucas's move from old school models and special effects, to almost everything being CG based in his newer films and the constant reworking of older films. But the real irony is that the 1983 and 2005 pictures are also a reflection in the decline of his fan base, due to his obsessive use of CG among other things... P.S. Nice title Feat, you got me to look in here haha. I should know better though, because Lucas will never retire...only after he's dead...and even then I still have my doubts about his retirement.
  6. I posted a video on this thread from a show I watch called Red Eye in it one guy think it could be Shazam I'm not much a fan of Shazam did he ever have a lady friend? Haha come on guys, it cant be Captain Marvel.... That guy was the head of "the Kid Super Power Hour" (I don't know if you guys remember that program), there were some really hot broads on that show. That was in the 70's and the hot broad was Isis. Haha no argument there, she was hot too. And she is still kinda bangable for an older woman, in my opinion. P.S. Im really glad that if someone had to be converted to homosexual, it was Alan Scott and none of the original Super Powers Team members.

  8. Here's the original ending before it was re-written and re-shot. The scene with the gun to Frank's head, in my opinion captures the essence of Frank Castle character...more than any other live-action portrayal done so far. Below is a just a cool clip of the movie that someone made, with Cutting Crew's music.
  9. Here's a few clips from 1988 (the year the movie was filmed) of the Lundgren Punisher. The first two clips were scenes that were cut from the theatrical release. It shows how Frank was before he became the Punisher, and shows how his family was killed in the movie. These are such rough cuts of these scenes, that there's parts where you could actually see the movie microphone stick out at the top of some scenes haha.
  10. Plus for me I would love to get Catwoman and Harly Quinn I never got those plus some of the new Lanterns like Saint Walker It may just be a rumor, but I had heard at the comic book store, that supposedly Matty will be re-releasing some of their figures from older DCUC waves but repackaged in their new retail line.
  11. I hope that Superman and Batman are back for next week's episode.
  12. That bothered me too why did he act so stupid and there was no reason she had to pipe back like that too I'm glad that you caught that too and were bothered by it. Only man-ginas and eunuchs would be the only ones to like or enjoy, watching their gender unnecessarily being put down and emasculated. Most likely a man-gina or an "empowered" woman, wrote that into the episode... Why else would anyone want to put a scene where broads go into feminazi mode, and the male being questioned just puts his tail between his legs and cowers in fear. The sad part is that many kids are watching this on TV at a really young age, and then many boys will probably grow up with the "I wont talk back to women, even when I should...but instead I'll just nod because I'm afraid of women" mentality. Kids are constantly seeing it on TV (through cartoons, movies, sitcoms, etc.). Many girls grow up exploiting that same mentality, because its how modern western society has programmed them. You're right it did feel like that.
  13. Here's a clip with the best of both those worlds... At the bar you'll see both "butch" and "lipstick" types... http://www.youtube.c...h?v=2_5UZTOYTWk Sure its not a comic book, but its from a great and very underrated movie called "Lianna". I found that movie on TV a few years ago. I put it on because I recognized the actress who plays Lianna, Linda Griffiths, from that MST3K movie, Overdrawn at the Memory Bank. Yea man she was foxy, and she still looks good now in my opinion. But Its funny cause in "Lianna" if you look closely there's a few scenes with a really young Chris Elliot, way before his SNL days... I have never seen OATMB or that episode of Mystery Science Theater, but wasn't Raúl Juliá in that with her? That movie sounds like its before "Kiss of the Spider Woman" or something.

  15. Going by the longer clip of this show that I saw, so far this show looks promising. I really don't want it to end up like Aquaman.
  16. Today's episode was OK, I liked last week's better. It was cool seeing what looked to be a young "Apache Chief". Hopefully he will become part of the team in future episodes. The one part of this episode which irked me, was how Nightwing was written in this episode as a castrated male. Batgirl gets all feminazi and questions him over the whole Alpha Mission being made up of a "female only team". Her questioning then triggers the rest of the girls, to go feminazi mode... Nightwing is then all nervous, because he didn't want to "offend" any "empowered" women...so instead he puts his tail between his legs and nervously decides not to answer.... Yea she was just messing with his head, and he fell right for it. Had Batgirl or any of the other females which were part of the "Alpha Mission", would have tried that crap with the Batman.... Batman would have automatically shut the screen off, and mysteriously appeared inside their vessel, and all those broads would have been slapped by his appendage... Manginas should not be allowed to write any more episodes for this show. P.S. That thing with the cornrows, was that a male or a female?
  17. The original series "Go Lion" was much more dramatic and much more violent, than its censored version which is known as "Voltron". In Japan Takashi "Sven" was actually murdered by the witch in combat, and never "heals and comes back" like in the American version. The character later used as "Sven" in the American version, was actually Ryou his younger brother, if I remember correctly. Also in the original Japanese story, the personalities of Akira "Keith" and Isamu "Lance" clashed constantly because Akira was kind of a commanding hot-head, and Isamu was the only one of the team, that had the balls to actually question and stand-up to him whenever he didn't agree. Akira was by the book, and Isamu had a habit of being rebellious in nature.
  18. The way that Donner's Superman 2 was made, was supposed to be the way that its was going to continue after part 1. The reason why the turning back time was again put in Donner's Superman 2, is because it was in Donner's part 2 which its was supposed to be in, and only in part 2. In Donner's first Superman, he wasn't supposed to turn back time, but instead it was supposed to end on a cliffhanger with the Zod gang being freed, by the missile that Superman flies up into space (not the elevator like in Lester's Superman 2). This is why Donner was filming both 1 and 2 simultaneously because they were supposed to be released not too far from each other. Since Donner was let go after having completed about 70% of Superman 2, Lester's people came in and reworked some of the story of Part 2 and then re-shot some of the scenes for Lester's version of 2. Its also because of Donner's letting go that the "turning back time" scene, was put in part 1 instead of part 2. Most of the scene in Lester's part 2 was footage that was kept that Donner had filmed himself. Donner released his own story's version of part 2 through the 2006 DVD, and it contained what he had shot of part 2. Some parts were obviously screen tests and modernized clips with stand-ins, (because he was unable to originally film those parts of the story). And yes some people say that Superman is not relatable and in many ways its true. He's an extraterrestrial being with god-like powers (since we are talking Bronze age Superman here), who was pretty much invincible, up until Byrne had Superman neutered. But its Superman's humanity and Judeo-Christian morality which many people could relate to, and not his powers. I speak for myself now when I say this, but I don't feel that I have to relate with every character that I like or enjoy, I could just enjoy watching that said character in situations, and seeing how they would approach a certain situation. Also Superman is a character which embodies almost the perfect powerful being, the reason that I personally liked him as a kid, was due to his incredible strength, powers, and the ability to fly. Its a fantasy that many of us as kids, wish that we could live out. That's why the excessive use of the "Marvel Formula", has become stale.... Most writers nowadays think that every character should be given the "Peter Parker" treatment, which is basically a powerful guy given everyday real life problems, and is "just trying to fit in" with the rest of the world. I cant really picture Orion or any of the New gods, complaining or worried over the fact that one of their boots just broke, and there are no spares around... Or Bruce Wayne pissed off at Jason Todd for playing with one of his expensive collectibles (lets face it Jason would have probably been the type to do this crap). The "superhero/super powered guy, just trying to find his place in the world" just doesn't always work for all comic book characters. Some characters are just not intended to be completely relatable to, but instead admired. These are just my opinions anyway. But whether someone likes Superman or not, Superman is indirectly relatble because he is the first ever superhero, and he is the basis for all superhero creations that came after him. So all the millions of characters which some people are relatable to (no matter which comic book company) they just wouldn't exist as they do today, without the influence of Superman.
  19. Awesome, this guy is one of the fastest guitar players ever with his style of neo-classical metal.
  20. Wow they shouldn't have! Man I really hope that Matty's whole budget as a company, didn't go into this two and half inch tall, glow in the dark Slimer figure... That would be too damn generous of them if they did. I really wouldn't want to feel like I'm ripping food right out of Matty's mouth, by accepting this generous, thoughtful, and priceless F*ck You Thank You which is this figure...
  21. The jacket/coat on Bane makes him look like he's going to go to a forest somewhere, and start chopping down trees for some reason... Maybe Bane and Paul Bunyon met at the Pancake Parlour.
  22. He looks cool, and you have the "Speed Force" reunion in those shots. By the way I know that some people would probably go crazy, over that small paint chip on Jay's neck... I guess the broads over at Matty just couldn't get enough of the guy...
  23. really? family board? DC is making an old character gay...now, none of us know exactly how that's gonna work in the context of superhero storytelling, but however it goes down, have fun explaining the same deep concerns and questions raised by the subject matter we've gotten into here to these "children." I dont see how any of this discussion, aside from the short detour for Kids in the Hall love, is off topic or inappropriate...this is what society and DC Comics wants after all, right? good press, bad press, attention and money...oh...uh...i meant to say "equal rights." KIDS PROGRAM! Is that Andy Kaufman as the genie?
  24. Here's my take on the live action Punisher actors and movies. Thomas Jane's Frank Castle was great, but there was too much emotion in his character, and the movie had tongue in cheek points (Russian fight), the story felt dragged and was boring at times... Jane's Frank Castle felt like the comic book, but he seemed too caring at times, and he also comes off as a "superhero" more than a "vigilante" at the end with his monologue. Ray Stevenson physically looked like the modern comic book Frank Castle in his movie, but his Punisher didn't really come off as threatening. War Zone was the most violent of the Punisher movies so far, but the villains and violence were too cartoony. Also Ray Stevenson's Punisher felt more like a typical superhero movie. Dolph Lundgren's Frank Castle doesn't wear the skull, and his origin was slightly altered from the comic books... But his movie was the most believable and most violent (without it seeming cartoony). The 1989 Punisher film had a serious tone to its characters and situations, and had the most action scenes in it too. There's hardly any comic-relief (if any), in that movie. The Punisher in that movie just keeps going no matter what, with no end to his violence and vengefulness. Dolph Lundgren's Frank Castle/Punisher was just fckin crazy, and didn't care about anything other than "punishing the guilty".... In my opinion he embodied the spirit of Frank Castle from the comics. He shows very little emotion, and his mission was to kill as many evil people as possible...with no end in sight... He was willing to kill both men and women. Lundgren's Frank Castle even threatens the mob boss's son, warning him to grow up to be a good man, or else he'll be "punished" too.... So in my honest opinion Ray Stevenson's is the most accurate in term of physical resemblance, and origin. Thomas Jane's is the most accurate in terms of voice tone (I'm used to the PS2/Xbox game), and clothes. Dolph Lundgren's Frank Castle is the most accurate in terms of personality, violence, and ruthlessness. Also Lundgren's movie matches the violent world of the comic books, while still being portrayed realistically.
