  1. Well, I suppose if they were strong enough, he could tear into a tank to get to the person inside. The 25th Anniversary Ripper's Jaws of Life are moveable and open the way they are supposed to which is interesting
  2. Did they ever show him in the cartoon using it? I seem to remember an episdoe where Storm Shadow was training new recruits, and the Dreadnoks trying to show him up by using their weapons on a tank, melting it. Then Storm Shadow without weapons, just punched and kicked various places on another tank, making it fall to pieces.
  3. Hmm, I can just see people trying to take pics of him using it at such. I am glad I am not alone in thinking it was a jackhammer
  4. I was just wondering. When I was younger, I had no idea what the Jaws of Life were, so naturally I wasn't really sure what Ripper's weapon was. As a kid, I thought it was supposed to be a jack hammer. What did you think it was when you were a kid?
  5. I was looking at some of the weapons from the old line, and I know that many of the weapons are supposed to be futuristic laser rifles and such, but there are 2 that I was wondering what you might think they are. The first one is the gold rifle that came with the first Headman. The space inside the rifle almost looks like it is for injecting drugs. The second came with Interogator. It looked like a gun with 3 prongs at the end of the barrel. Perhaps to shock a prisoner with electricity during interogations? Anywho, what do they use them for in your Joeverse, and what other weapons tend to leave you scratching your head saying "What the...?"
  6. There were a few, and all tgheir tattoos were different. I have a friend who is a big Jack Sparrow fan, and actually has the Sparrow tattoo as well as the P tattooed on his arm. When we saw the movie, we started making jokes that he was going to try and get all the tattoos shown on the first shirtless Jack, until we saw a few more with totally different tattoos.
  7. Which tattoos? In the movie, all the shirtless Jack Sparrows had different tattoos. I wouldn't mind seeing a Dutchman Crew Jack.
  8. that's just a silly argument. I don't see Hasbro using this description for another toy wrong in any way, what bothers me is that they don't use it for Cobra anymore. if Hasbro isn't afraid to use the word terrorist when selling another toy, they shouldn't be afraid to use it for G.I. Joe either. Well, I believe they stopped using the term "terrorist" in reference to Cobra after 9/11 because Cobra's methods were not "terrorist-like". They don't have suicide bombers, they don't blow up buildings, they don't just outright attack a country by attacking the civilians, etc. They are more like a conquering military force seeking to overthrow a government. A little more like Napoleon, or even Hitler. Plus, after 9/11, they may have wanted to drop the word "terrorist" from Cobra because there are so many fans who actually LIKE Cobra, and didn't want them to feel like it was wrong. And how can you not like Cobra, with so many individual characters and personalities? HYDRA, on the other hand has only a handful of individual characters who are not particularly likeable.
  9. Yeah, but I also remember alot of the tanks being hollow on the inside, so getting Cover Girl to sit in the Wolverine might not be so bad. Plus there should be no problem getting Serpentor to stand on teh Air Chariot.
  10. It probably didn't help that wave 2 had only 3 all new figures(Battling Barbossa, Human Davy Jones, Hadras) amidst 1 straight up re-release (Jack with untucked shirt) and 2 previously released figures with new accessories (Pintel with new bandellier and Ragetti with a helmet). I think there was another Jack, but even if he was a new scuplt, there are so many other identical looking Jack figures that it is hard to get excited about it. Aside from the Jack with his shirt untucked, the rest are either with or without his coat.
  11. I've got a few pics snapped of the Cobra Trooper crammed into the RAHC HISS tank as well as the Stinger Driver shoved into the con VAMP. I'll post pics tomorrow but the results aren't pretty. EDIT: Uploaded a few pics. I'll post the HISS cockpit shot tomorrow. How about if you bend their knees a little, would it help? What about the comic pack Clutch?
  12. Poor ol third wheel Cobra Commander. "Cobra-la-la-la-la-la-la-la!!!"
  13. There is the wave that is out now with Human Davy Jones and Hadras. I also remember there was supposed to be a 4th wave with Flying Dutchman Captain Will Turner and Cutler Beckett.
  14. I was just wondering if anyone has any pics showing some of the newer figures in older vehicles. Like the comic pack Cover Girl in the tank the original came with, comic pack or 25th anniversary Serpentor on the Air Chariot, comic pack or convention Clutch in the VAMP, 25th anniversary Zartan on the Chameleon, and so on. I have been wanting to see how they look, but don't have the vehicles, or all the figures.
  15. Maybe the next Duke figure should have blonde hair and dark brown roots @smilepunch@
  16. "Vac Metalizing" is the process of adding a chrome paint to plastic. Think Super Troopers vest and accessories.
  17. I don't think you are in the minority on that. The original Destro had the chrome head, and many fans would like to see it again. I am wondering since we are getting the Iron Grenedier Destro, will we see some 25th Anniversary style versions of other IG characters, such as the IGs, Darklon, Metalhead, Voltar, etc...
  18. What modifications do the card artwork have? How are they different from the original art work? Pics for comparison would be nice too.
  19. As far as anything like a base goes, the Terrordrome was it. There was a bunker and survelience port, but the Joes had alot more playsets with the original HQ, new HQ, MCC, and so on.
  20. Cool. Looks like it would be right at home in a Castle Destro dio.
  21. The convention sets are making me feel very nostalgic as well. It is the first set that I really REALLY want. So many great veteran characters: Rock N Roll, Zap, Clutch, Grunt, Flash, Grand Slam, Steeler, Starduster, etc. Plus the old school tanks and VAMP. I wish I had saved up and gone to the convention now.
  22. I wish there were some pics of him with the jacket on with the Destro shirt.
  23. I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but I noticed a packaging variant on the boxed sets. The first way to tell the variant is that the top of the box is metallic like the front cover. The funny thing I noticed about the Joe set is the positioning of the figured inside. For some reason, Gung-Ho and Roadblock look like they have tripped and are falling over. Gung-Ho even appears to have dropped his weapon. When I get the chance, I will get some pics.
  24. I am interested in the Booster Gold series. From the sound of it, Barbra might be becoming Batgirl again.
  25. He is from one of the old Marvel comics. There was a comic 3-pack that came with 2 of them and Lady Jaye. The comic that came with them actually only featured those troops in one shot, getting out of a truck. Could anyone direct me to the picture of the card back that showed sillouettes of Snow Job, Crimson Guards, etc...?
