  1. I just sold off the last of mine. they had been sitting in a box for the last couple years and I figured I wouldn't miss them.
  2. Haven't checked, but mine should be here soon. Damn it's gonna be a long wait from then until June.
  3. Seems like everyone was pretty happy with the actually product, which I think great as I don't see Hasbro making too many changes with it. On the other hand, distribution seems to be the major problem everywhere. I'm just not sure where the blame falls for that though. Is it Hasbro's? I would say no, but then I look at how hard it was to find new Star Wars figures this year too. Is it the stores? Well partially, after all if they aren't carrying the brand or stocking it thenwe can't get it. Or is it our fault? If the store has pegs and pegs of figures and we (a general "we", as in the consumer in general) aren't buying them, then the store won't order them. But then it all goes back to Hasbro and how they handle packing out a case.
  4. The WWE just uses the term "Legend" as a generic term for any wrestler that's now retired, much like current wrestlers are Superstar or whatever it is they refer to them as.
  5. I'm excited for the movie but the trailer didn't really do anything for me.
  6. Got the 30th Anniversary wave 4 yesterday and it got me to thinking about how this year was for G.I.Joe toy-wise. It started off with wave 3 of POC hitting shelves. So we got wave 3 through 6 of POC and then four waves of the 30th. It was actually a pretty good year. We got a lot of fantastic figures (POC SE, 30th SS, with a lot of great troop builders along the way). I hate the fact that I never got or saw POC wave 5 and have yet to get the figures from that wave I wanted (CC, Jungle BAT and Hawk) and that Kwinn and Data Viper we cancelled/moved. I wish Hasbro would have given us a Renegades Roadblock since we got every other member of the team and a couple of none members (Law and Order, Airtight, though I really like those figures), but I also blame hasbro for that as they just seem to not like completing teams for any of their lines (Just look at how many Marvel teams they are one figure away from completing). Overall, I think 2011 was a pretty good year and with the release of the second movies trailer, the quality of the figures we have gotten this year and (hopefully) the Collectors Club finally getting started I really can't wait to see what 2012 has in store.
  7. Something I would like to point out is that a lot of times in the 70's and even the 80's the wrestlers would wear the same thing almost all the time. The didn't change their look and if a toy company made a figure a year after someone came into the WWF (or where ever) they probably still had that look. Now day many wrestlers have multiple looks (yeah I'm looking at Rey) and kids want a specific look.
  8. I should have wave 4 on Friday, got my shipping conformation from BBTS yesterday. Now I'm just sad that aside from the two 7 packs we won't have any new Joes until May.
  9. I just think that the club thought it would be a nice or cool thing to have a removable hat and instead it just messes up the sculpt. Still like the figure but the head could have been better.
  10. My preorder is still just a preorder, but I hopeful that it will soon be on it's way.
  11. Honestly the WWE is doing the only thing it can do. It's a publicly held company that says it's main audience is children. You in no way, shape or form want to be attached to a man who murdered his family. I can understand why they do it, but understand the other side of the coin too. Beniot was one of the guys that got me back into watching wrestling during his ECW and WCW days. I enjoyed watching him perform and grow. I loved when he became the WCW champ and hated the fact that he jumped to the WWF/WWE but I still watched him. As for merch, well if you really want it, it's out there. There was a lot of stuff that was made prior to his death and you can find it if you look. It might suck (to you and others) that Mattel will never make a Beniot figure, but that's the breaks.
  12. Hamsterboy, I don't see where you got the "keeping your head buried in the sand" thing. I agree that it would be in poor taste to make a movie about it. Those last couple of days are really just one part of a story and I think a movie about it wouldn't really do anything. It seems (seemed) pretty cut and dry as to what happened. It wasn't like Beniot was some "movie pyscho" like Freddy or Jason Voorhies. I think it would be like making a movie on Hulk Hogan and focusing on his sons drunk driving arrest or a movie about Eddie and focusing on his steriod use. There's a lot to the story and while it did end horribly, I don't need to see a movie about it.
  13. Got mine from BBTS today and I like the wave quite a bit. Some quick thoughts and stuff: Yes Storm Shadow has his black sash included, Ripcord is a nice figure no matter what anyone says, I don't understand how Hasbro can give Tunnel Rat and Storm Shadow the amount of stuff they do and then turn around and give Scarlett just a gun and crossbow (or tell us figures like Data Viper don't cost out), and finally I don't get why all the Renegade figures come with "animated" weapons except for Tunnel Rat who comes with realistic weapons. Now I just can't wait for wave 4.
  14. Well I've all but decided to join when it comes out. This morning I joined the club at Officer level, so if nothing else I'll be getting that sweet looking Footloose figure.
  15. If it bugs you that much keep the receipt. Most of the time you have 90 days (if not longer) to return an item. If it clearences at a lower price buy it and then return it with the first receipt.
  16. I think all of us hit a point in whatever we do where we question it. It can be caused by a lot of things and you just have to go with what you feel is right. For me I've never been able to give up comic collecting completely. Now I'm in my thirties, married with children and stepchildren and still make my weekly trip to my LCS. Now toy collecting I have been able to take a leave. When I started (and was still single) it was easy to spend the money on figures, but as I have gotten older I find that I have dropped a lot of the lines that I liked but didn't love. I've sold huge chunks of it off and while I might have regretted it a little at the time, looking back I don't miss anything I parted with. As for what happens to it. It's left to my youngest stepson and daughter (who really show now interest in any of it....yet) and if they don't want it I have it in my will that all my comics are to be given (that's right given, as in free of charge) back to my LCS. I figure I would rather have it enjoyed by someone who would love it the way I do unstead of left somewhere. My kids can sell it if they want, but I know they won't get half of what I apid or what it suppossedly worth.
  17. I like them. There was no way that they were going to please everyone and with some of the rumors surrounding the 12 figures we got (that the club could only choose some characters and only use certain parts to create the figures) I think they did pretty good. For the 12 we got, plus Foot Loose and the mystery figure (who people keep on saying is Dice, and I'd be ok with him too) I think they did well. But I do hope that if we get a year 2 that the fans get more choice in character selection (even if it just and "either this one or that one" sort of choice).
  18. While I think the variant is ok and got one just to mix it up with the other ones, I prefer the first one.I just don't like the arms on that figure (works ok for SE and Stalker) and the gear is real tight on that torso. Not to mention I hate that you have have no knife or gun for the holsters.Makes me wonder if they are goning to use that body for a Cobra trooper in the future.
  19. I'm liking this figure and won't lie, I'm ready to sign up. I like nine or ten of the announced figures and the only real "deal breaker" here will be if the club goes above $25 a figure. Sure I wish it would be cheaper, but I look at some of the other exclusives that have come out the last couple year (Slaughter, Zarann, Dial Tone) and on the secondary market they are really expensive. I don't want to wait a year of so and decide I want Big Boa only to see him selling for $50+. I already regret not signing up last year and not getting Dial Tone. BTW, one of the poster above asked if members could order more than one figure. I believe they said that if you had subscribed to the club you could order more of the figures on top of your sub without ordering a second sub. Maybe I'm remembering wrong but I think they said that.
  20. I don't think he hates them, he just see's them as a tool or weapon to be used and if they break or stop doing the job they're suppossed to do then you get a new one.
  21. Considering that the VvV Jinx head wasn't a ball and socket head they would have to retool it anyway. But if they were doing that, reusing heads I mean, then I'm sure Barrel Roll and Cover Girl are just reused or retooled DTC heads (I can't remember if the Barrel Roll head was a ball and socket or not, I know the CG one was).
  22. I think there actually three years between 2 and 3, just like the amount of time it took between release.
  23. You know the more I think about it the more I think it will just end with no real resolution to many of the Clone Wars characters. It would be too dark to have all the killing and I think that it might almost be smarter to leave it all open ended so thta we don;t know or see anything. Atleast when it comes to Ahsoka. Rex could always die heroically during a battle prior to the end of the series.
  24. Obviously the WB saw something in this companies presentation that impressed them. This is a line that I'm sure the WB would like to see continue for a while, two or three years at the least (since the movie is two parts coming out a year apart). From what I've heard the license includes the LoTR movies too. Should be interesting to see what,if anything, we see at Toy Fair in Feb.
  25. Just how do you expect the series to end? Or at what point? I think a lot of people think it will end with Ahsoka dying and I think it's probably a given. But I think Rex eill bite it too. Perhaps a double take out (Rex tries to kill Ahsoka, she kills him, but the rest of 501 takes care of her). Just wanting to hear what others are thinking.
