  1. I think the Sigma 6 figures are pretty cool...but I don't love 'em enough to buy any. I'm so excited about the 3 3/4" DTC stuff and I want to save my money for that. I do plan to watch the S6 cartoon. P.S. to Kamen - You're not alone on the boards.
  2. Great idea, Recondo! I signed it. Ted
  3. I just went to the KB in Springfield, VA a few days ago and couldn't find any Joes. This store always had a Joe section in the past, so I looked around everywhere...but found nothing. So maybe KB has indeed dropped the line for some reason. The Springfield store never had any new items, just old Spy Troops stuff and 12" figures. They did have the OCS set a few months ago, though.
  4. I love Smalljoes - my favorite online Joe store. I've never had a problem with an order (I've been a faithful customer since January, 2003), and their shipping speed has improved in the last year or so. Ted
  5. I just picked up the Ninja Battles set at Target in Springfield, VA. It's a really cool set - all the figures are great. I haven't watched the DVD or read the comic yet, but I'm looking forward to both. Unfortunately, my Tiger Claw has a bad paint error - there's a big splotch of black paint all across his tiger symbol. Of course, I didn't see this until I'd ripped open the box and taken all the other figures and accessories out. I'm a stickler for good face paint jobs, and I carefully inspected all of the figures in the store for good eyes, etc. But I missed Tiger Claw's uniform problem. I know some of you are buying extra sets to army build the red and black ninjas, so if anyone has a Tiger Claw that they would be willing to send, sell or trade, please PM me and let me know. Thanks! Ted
  6. Since Cover Girl and Spirit are coming in the DD three pack, I can finally take them off my list. Top 5 Joes: 1. Mercer 2. Falcon 3. Mayday 5. Lifeline 6. Cutter Top 5 Cobras and others: 1. Major Bludd 2. Buzzer 3. Copperhead 4. Zanya 5. Billy
  7. I just discovered that Brian's Toys has photos of many of the 2005 wave 1 figures. Many of them look great - the Viper is in blue, Gung Ho is the wave 4 with an o-ring, Bombstrike is female - blond and likely Barrel Roll's sister (hooray!), Cobra Commander has what looks like a removeable hood and mask (?), and Over Kill is a new sculpt. Check out the pictures! Here's a link to the Bombstrike set: What do you all think? Ted
  8. 1. What has been fav joe sculpt of 04 Wild Bill (who I'm using as Mercer for now) 2. What has been fav cobra sculpt of 04 Wild Weasel 3. overall fav joe sculpt (since jvc) (Double) Clutch 4. Fav cobra sculpt (since jvc started) Black Out 5. Most wanted joe (not yet released in jvc) Cover Girl, with Mercer and Lifeline close behind 6. Most wanted cobra (not yet released in jvc, individual) Major Bludd
  9. It's gotta be Cover Girl, and I agree with Buzzchuck that she should be really beautiful to fit with her background as a model. My second choice would be Cadet Bombshell - just because I'm fascinated by the Barrel Roll vs. Black Out story.
  10. I'm really bummed about it. The 12" figures have been getting so much better lately that I finally broke down and started collecting them. I wonder if the store exclusive 12" figures we heard about - KB's Bazooka and TRU's Baroness, for example - are cancelled along with the regular line. Has anybody heard anything about this?

    Night Force

I had the same issues with both the Night Force and Cobra Infantry sets. I couldn't find a single set where I was happy with every paint job, so I tried to focus on getting the best versions of the figures I really wanted. With Night Force, it was Tunnel Rat and Short Fuze, and with the Infantry Forces I bought three sets and kind of mixed and matched to get a decent Scarface and about twelve grunts. It really bothered me that out of the many packs I had to choose from, I couldn't find any that were 100% acceptable. The main problems I noticed were in the eyes - they either looked badly lopsided or the pupils were looking in wildly different directions. Bleah. With that said, I do like the figures I ended up with. Of course, the Infantry Forces have lousy accessories, and so does Night Force - mostly. I do like the AK-47s, and have given them to my Cobra Infantry guys.
  12. TRU in Kingstowne (Alexandria) had about four left on Monday - but I thought the paint jobs were iffy on various figures throughout the sets. In particular, the eyes were often poorly done - looking very off kilter and mismatched. @sad@ They also had several Night Force sets, but again - several of the figures had bad paint jobs - especially on the eyes.
  13. It's really hard to keep this list to 10, but here goes... 1. Major Bludd 2. Cover Girl 3. Mercer 4. Torch 5. Buzzer 6. Tomax and Xamot (better versions that aren't just repaints) 7. Cadet Bombshell (given the cool back story of Barrel Roll and Black Out, and how Bombshell's name has been trademarked, I keep expecting and hoping to see her as a figure) 8. Spirit 9. Lifeline 10. Scrap Iron
  14. I just got back from Wal-Mart in Woodbridge, VA and found one Airborne/Tele-Viper pack (which I bought) and two Halo Jumper/Tele-Viper packs (which I left on the shelf for some other lucky person to pick up). I know I could have picked them up as an investment, but I really just wanted the one pack and I prefer the Airborne name (even if the figure would make a better Ripcord). Ted
