  1. Okay, once again - Action Attack Storm Shadow I remember how disappointed I was in this figure. Such a cool design and look for SS, completely overshadowed by the action attack.
  2. Gotta go with Action Attack Storm Shadow
  3. Kamen, I must agree with you again! My round 2 vote goes to Butt Plug Duke
  4. It's gotta be - Action Attack Kamakura
  5. Buzzer! Zandar is a close second, and my next choice would be Heart Wrencher. Zanya and Machete would be cool as well.
  6. I guess I'm most thankful for the huge number of great and memorable characters. That's what first got me interested in Joe in the 80s. The sheer number of Joe and Cobra personalities makes for a complex, entertaining, and endlessly interesting universe.
  7. I generally like the wave 3 figures. Like many have said, we were told to expect mainly repaints and recycled parts in this line...and I think Hasbro has been pretty creative with the parts used to create "new" figures. It's just so exciting to get new single carded figures with such amazing artwork. I never would have guessed they'd use Rollbar's body for the SAW Viper - but it looks cool. I really like Med Alert, except for his codename. I think maybe I'll call him Crash Cart (from the old Amazon list) since that seems much cooler. He does seem to need some medical accessories, though. Low-Light's colors are terrific, and Monkey Wrench's new look is a great way to differentiate him from Torch - I always got those two confused in the comics and on TV. The Cobra Trooper is the one figure in the bunch that seems so-so from these early pictures. I agree that Ghost Bear's body was a strange choice...but I have a feeling that I'll like this figure better once I have it in hand. I can't wait for this wave! - Especially the Cover Girl comic pack.
  8. I've gone from really disliking the figures (from early pictures) to really liking them. I wish they were cheaper, but I still bought three of them at TRU yesterday - Duke, Snake Eyes, and Spirit. They are very cool, IMO. The 3.75" Joes are still my main interest, but I plan to keep collecting S6 (for now) - one of each character only...so I'll skip scuba Duke, armored Snake Eyes, etc.

    Dtc Wave 2

Devil Bat, I agree with Draven - paint apps on the new comic packs were better than before but not perfect. My Zarana has funny eyes (not a big deal since the ST Zarana is my default), and my first Hawk had a few big globs of yellow paint on the back of his head. I managed to shave them off but he was left with a big bald spot. Otherwise, I was pleased with the paint apps on the comic packs and the Night Watch set. They generally seemed much cleaner and more consistent than the previous ones in stores. I am totally excited about all the upcoming DTC figures and vehicles. Cover Girl, Salvo, Major Bludd, the HISS...they all look great to me and really seem tailored to the fans. And I love all the new accessories too!
  10. Kamen is so right! - New Orleans would have been a great place to have the con. I had a long visit there years ago and had a blast...so much to see and do. I've always loved that city.
  11. Wow, cool ideas! Thanks. Interpol and Fade-Out - I think Scoop and Breaker are both good possibilities. I actually thought of using him for Breaker, but since the comic pack version is coming out I'll use that instead. What about Freefall? The hair color's wrong but otherwise it seems like a good fit.
  12. Is anyone planning to use the wave 2 Barrel Roll as a character other than Barrel Roll? I ask because I really like the ST Barrel Roll and the new figure seems to look different enough to be a new character. I've been trying to figure out if he resembles any classic characters that haven't been made into new sculpts yet...but so far I don't see any matches. Has anyone else considered this?
  13. For the past few weeks I've been streamlining my Joe collection. I mostly collect new sculpt Joes (and love them) but I like old sculpt too. I'm not trying to start a new vs. old debate. I'm just curious to know how many of you combine new sculpt figures with the other types in your Joeverses, and what criteria you use (if any) to determine what makes the cut. Right now, my collection consists of mostly new sculpts plus several old sculpts, a few BTR, a few non o-ring, and many of the comic pack figures. I'm usually fairly picky about old sculpts - they either need to have enough sculpting detail to fit in fairly well with the new sculpts or they have to be one of my favorite characters that doesn't have a new sculpt yet (like Cutter). I don't have the same problem with the comic pack figures - they seem to fit in better due to the new head sculpts (some more than others, of course). The non o-ring figures are the weird ones, and they've been annoying me (for lack of a better word) more and more lately. Some of the head sculpts are great (like Wet-Suit), I like Heavy Duty's massive proportions, the Morays are cool...but the limited articulation sucks and really seems to set them apart from all the other figures (both new and old sculpt). So I'm leaning toward phasing them out of my Joeverse and - when possible - switching to an o-ring version of the character. For example, I have the RAHC Wet-Suit and I think he'd fit in okay. So, what are your thoughts on this topic? Thanks!
  14. I'll bet a lot of you have done this already, but I haven't seen any posts or pics about it yet. I ordered two extra DTC CGs, removed their arms, and put them on the Tomax and Xamot figures in place of those atrocious CLAWS Commander arms. They look great! I know I could have swapped the whole body, but I like the twins having a slightly different look from the CGs. And the arm color matches up with the torso almost perfectly - they're very close to being the exact same red. Thanks to KamenDreda for the idea - it's simple but works great. On a related note, has anyone else retired CLAWS Commander (the figure and/or character) from their Joeverses? I have. I just don't think it makes sense for him to have a CG-ish uniform. Plus I hate those arms and the discolored blotches on his boots.
  15. I remember that - and I agree with you completely. As much as I wanted the He-Man line to succeed, I wasn't about to go broke buying figures that I didn't want. The most I did was pick up a few as donations for Toys for Tots. And I feel the same way about the DTC Joes - I will do my best to support them but I won't buy figures that I don't want. Of course, so far I've wanted at least one of everything. It really does seem like Hasbro is working hard to give us what we want, and I'll buy it all as long as I have the money and space for it.
  16. That's Gretta. She follows me around like a puppy. I didn't realize she was in the picture until after I posted it.
  17. Thanks, guys! - The mystery piece is indeed a tow hook, there is a slot for it on the back of the humvee. Here are a few pictures of the humvee. (I hope this works, I've never posted pictures here before.) And here is Rollbar.
  18. The mailman just delivered my black humvee. It looks great! - And the new Rollbar figure is very cool. I've gotta run right now, but I'll try to post a few pictures later (unless someone beats me to it). I have one question about it...after attaching all of the guns, mirrors, etc., I am left with one mystery piece and I can't figure out where it goes. I've double checked the instructions and pictures on the package but I still can't figure it out. It's a small, oddly shaped piece, 1/2" x 1/2", with a hole in one corner of it. Does anyone know what it is?
  19. 3 3/4" Joe has become the main focus of my collection, but I also collect LOTR, some Alien/Aliens items, and Art Asylum Trek (classic only, which seems to be done for now). I do not plan to buy any Sigma 6 figures due to cost and size. I don't mind larger scale action figures, but they take up so much more space. I kind of like the design of S6, but I'm not crazy about it. I have a feeling, though, that if the cartoon is really good then I'll want to get at least some of the figures. We'll see!
  20. No, and I've been wondering when it will arrive. I was thinking about e-mailing them to get an update...
  21. Well, I just saw that the full case is out of stock on Hasbro's Web site. Hopefully, that means they're selling briskly.
  22. I ordered mine last Friday and received them yesterday (except the Humvee). I'm in Alexandria, VA.
  23. There are so many characters I want to see new sculpts of. But if I had to pick my most wanted... Joes: Lifeline (and/or Doc) Airtight Cutter Falcon Wet-Suit Dial-Tone (and/or a new communications specialist) Hit & Run Claymore Mayday Mariner Cobras: Copperhead Zandar Tomax & Xamot AVAC Billy Interrogator Night-Viper Buzzer Heart Wrencher Wraith Serpentor SAW Viper
