  1. Nice! I like the new articulation on Wonder Woman's arms. Not caring for the abdomen to ribcage articulation; but I'll wait and see. A lot of the present female figures have really poor articulation for the line. Not really fond of this wave, but I'll go in for the WW and Flash. Maybe Lex Luthor. We'll see.
  2. That would imply Megan Fox has anything North of the border. Not to be internet sharp-knees guy, but Fox has always been left wanting up top.
  3. I'm looking forward to digital comics getting sorted out. I will still buy print copies of books from artists and writers I enjoy, but I drop a lot of money on mediocre books on a lark and end up regretting it. Set up an iTunes style store for new comics, 99¢ a pop, and I'll read a lot more comics. Granted the iPad isn't as nice as the printed page, especially for gorgeous two page spreads; but like I said - the stuff I really love I'll still buy. The lesser stuff I just want to try or read and not take up room in my house will be what digital is for. It will also be nice to have access to the back catalogues of these companies at the drop of a hat. Part of the reason I started a Kamandi run is because it's not completely collected anywhere, so I've got to build a collection. :\
  4. I want this to be good, but the suit scenes remind me of the horrible computer animation in the Raimi Spiderman movies. I'm not generally one to judge a movie by early footage, but I hope this is still a work in progress and will be polished up before release.
  5. He cites a really bad example as well. The DC videos aren't comparable to Family Guy as these videos are constantly rotating creative teams. Much like a comic book. In which case if you dislike one creative team or character, eventually one may come along that you do enjoy. Visually I have enjoyed Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and Black Adam. Unfortunately it all falls apart at the story level. They're generally not interesting enough to merit the running times. Unlike JLA/U which was incredibly well written and after a 22 minute episode I was ready to dive into another episode straight away. Not groaning in anticipation of the ending. I'm also not burning a ton of calories with these videos. It's gotten to the point that I just let them run when I'm doing something else in the house. If it doesn't grab me within 10 minutes, I'll soldier through and fold clothes or browse the Internet. Animation and vocal talent has all been great. Unfortunately the writing is threadbare on a lot of them, and offensively boring on a lot of them. This extends to a lot of animation these days as well. Both Western and Japanese. As I get older the more jejune tropes of animation writing become more glaringly obvious. Perhaps if I were 10 years old again these things would wow me, but that's an insult to my childhood as Jim Henson was a wonderfully talented contributor to my youth and I can still pop in The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth and enjoy those in my mid-30's.
  6. Sorry to inflame that certain someone guys. It's not like I go into these things expecting to dislike them, in fact it's that pitiful sliver of optimism I haven't eradicated that keeps me coming back. In this instance it was the reduced running time, Black Adam, and Arnold Vosloo (been a fan since Hard Target) that piqued my nerd interest. Hopefully Black Adam gets some screen time in Young Justice. If for no other reason he's an awesome character and those teen twits can use a magical beat down.
  7. I enjoy watching this thread grow. Love your He-Man / G.I.Joe stuff.
  8. Sometimes I like to noodle with drawing implements. Local comic shop celebrated it's 20th Anniversary. The mother and son are owners, and these are their respective favorite characters. Perspective is all over the place, and honestly I didn't care. I'm lazy. So if I can just draw figures I'm happy in my lazy ways. Tried to make Hakan look oily (like the game), but not sure how that turned out. I'd like to spend more time drawing (so I could maybe get better), but I'm terrible at managing my free time.
  9. Seriously? Folks calling John Hamm "old" - well, I'll be here to laugh at your asses when you're "old". @loll@ I wouldn't mind an older Superman. Look at previous Supermen. It's not Superboy. I'm not going to fall for some wet behind the ears 22 year old wearing the tights.
  10. It (Black Adam) was the right length for what it is. I'd say the threadbare plot left it feeling a little over long, but at least it's not 60 minutes over long like the rest of the ho-hum DC animated movies released to video. Arnold Vosloo as Black Adam was great and the character designer did a wonderful job on all the characters. At the end of the day, this is another one DC can keep. I'll stick it out for Young Justice as DC's TV shows have been heads and tails above the direct to video stuff they've been crapping out.
  11. Assuming the GLC line has better distribution that DCUC and DCIH. Everything that's not Batman has had terrible distribution from my experience.
  12. If K-Mart stores weren't so far apart I'd probably hit more. I suspect I burned myself out last year searching high and low for Wave 10. May be willing to burn more calories on Wave 14 as I'm far more interested in that line-up. Not to poo poo anybody else's taste of course. Not a lot of must have figures in this wave for me, also not overly interested in the BAF of late, which is a nice perk as my wallet needs some time to cool off.
