  1. Not to go totally off topic, but I have only been paying attention to the Joe pics. Since we are now talking about other lines with same scale, is there anything from the supposed Indiana Jones figures??

Ya can't short Tazzz for being a nice guy. :)

    Thanks, lol.

"What was shown is not EVERYTHING that will be released in 2008." That makes me even more happy, come on Operation Dragonfire with a Alley Viper 25th figure and some more Python Patrol figures.

Funny, they did not show the TRU packs or the TARGET exclusives either.

I'm kind of curious as to what the "generic troops" that come with the Hulk figures look like.

  3. Did any of you notice in the Weather Dominator pic looks like Marvel TPB Joe comics? I wonder if we're finally getting the rest of the series or just wishful thinking on my part?

By the way, Baroness looks great!

Looks like the same artist who did the covers for those did the artwork for the DVD cover.

  4. I NEED MORE PICTURES!!!!

Yeah I'm kind of disappointed that TNI and/or YoJoe.Com have ZERO pictures up. I'm not going to sign up at the gijoeclub just to see the pictures.

Mod Note: I know everybody is excited to see pictures, but please refrain from posting links to pics at other websites. You have to remember that TNI covers ALL toy lines whereas some sites are only covering GI Joe toys, so it might take us a few more minutes to update. Have patience....the pics and info will be up here at TNI, as usual. Thanks guys!

  5. On the back of the front cover it also gives a brief explanation of events leading to that comic and it talks about Dr. Mindbender creating Serpentor despite the fact that in that very issue we see just then Mindender's own origin. So basically it makes no sense.

  6. I can sort of see Hasbro's perspective here but I wonder what the real root of this issue is. I suspect that this all stems from some collectors themselves who are mad that there are people reproducing hard to find items from the 80s and selling them on ebay. If my suspicions are correct then I really don't see why Hasbro should care as it's not as if they are going to be making such items available themselves.

  7. Got all 3 packs today. I wish they would have put the Rattler insignia on Wild Weasle seeing as how I'm sure I've seen that Cobra symbol with bat wings on his helmet in the comics and they DID put the Skystriker symbol on Ace's arm. Also wish they would of thrown in a gun for Ace.

The Crimson Twins are amazing. I didn't realize until I got them that they have the Extensive Enterprises symbol as belt buckles. Nice touch Hasbro. I also like the guns they come with. Much improved over those crappy guns the originals came with.

The Crimson Guard is cool put I wish they would of gave him a proper gun. The gun he comes with just doesn't make much sense. This is the first 25th Siegie I've been able to find so it's cool top finally have one (and with a removable helmet to boot). Not much to say about the Scarface figure other than it's nice to see a Blueshirt with hair.

The comic that comes with the Siegie/Scarface pack interestingly shows Dr. Mindbender's origin! Until now this was something just mentioned on his filecard.

  8. Falcon better be perfect! He's my favorite Joe. Personally, I think he deserves a single carded version but they better not take any short cuts! DO YOU HEAR ME HASBRO! And I'm not the only one that feels this way. Make a nice Falcon and redue Snake-Eyes V2 in black and I will forgive some of the short cuts that have been taken as of late.

I love this line but I think they are starting to take too many short cuts and I see no reason for the comic two packs. Just make single carded figures. It seemed to work well from 1981-1994. Don't make me buy a figure I don'r want for one that I do. I never understood this logic.

If Falcon is a repaint of Flint I riot!

  9. That Cobra Commander's hips actually don't look as bas as they first seemed. I like the removable helmet. Isn't his backpack on upside down or have I been putting on my 87 figure wrong all these years? I like the removable oxygen tanks on Torpedo's backpack.

    Rock 'n Roll? Now that's a name I haven't heard since 1982.

  10. I am intrigued at what a reboot of the G.I. Joe continuity would be like however we already saw that with G.I. Joe Reloaded and it bombed. Why? Because most fans don't like the idea of G.I. Joe being changed too much. Storm Shadow looking like someone from the Matrix? Duke as a Cobra? The changes were too much. The remedy to this would seem to be NOT to change too much. However if that is what they are going to do then it seems almost pointless to reboot the continuity in the first place.

Yes, a lot of the decisions made over the years in both the Marvel and Devil's Due books seem a bit silly. Snake-Eyes' connection to Storm Shadow, Cobra Commander, Baroness, Firefly, Zartan, and 50 other characters for example. However I feel these sort of things could just be ignored. That's not to say they didn't happen but rather they just need not be referenced that much if at all. No one should have to of read any single issue of the Marvel or Devil's Due series to know what is going on. Keep the stories current without dwelling on things that happened in the past.

The Joes and timeless. Unless they are going to start aging or killing off nearly all the Joes from the 80s they cannot be dated. Those who fought in Vietnam will instead have to make references (if they must) to "the war" rather than specifically stating which one it was. I don't want to see flashbacks of Stalker, Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow in the Gulf War. Leave the past in the past. It wouldn't do any good updating the story in such a way as even the Gulf War was 17 years ago.

Rebooting the continuity may seem to be an easy fix to this issue but eventually that new continuity would have to rebooted once it gets to a point where the Iraq War or the Afghanistan War was too long ago for those who served in it to be still be fighting. Besides, you gotta believes that a reboot would just end up retelling the same tired stories over and over again. The Snake-Eyes/Storm Shadow drama . . . the creation of Serpentor. We do not need to relive these moments again and again. If they want people to be interested in a G.I. Joe comic book again they will have to deliver new and original stories while at the same time not reporting to killing off popular characters for shock value. It's easy to bring back someone like Serpentor who was a clone in the first place but how are they going to bring back Lady Jaye?

With all this said I'd like to see a G.I. Joe comic that is simply G.I. Joe. Not The ongoing drawn out story of G.I. Joe. They really need to get over the Snake-Eyes/Storm Shadow thing. It's done to death! One of the reasons I find myself preferring the cartoons to the comics is because in the toons they did not dwell on what had happened in the previous episodes. Cobra would hatch some new scheme. The Joes would find out about it and try to stop them. The two sides end of clashing and in the end of Joes would win. I'd actually like for the comic to be more like this.
