The flag folding scene again?
-
Sweet collection Pit Viper....just wondering what the following were called:
the playset on the left in the picture is the Terror Drome (1986). The one on the right looks like a non-joe custom dio.
I just now saw this. The one on the right is one of those (I think) Elite Force WWII playsets they sold at Toys R Us. It's a bombed out house.

I'm working on a new toy room. My old one was more like a toy closet. I got a heck of a lot more space. I haven't got anything moved in there yet but I'm cleaning it up and putting up shelves. When it is finished I'll be sure to post some new pics.

I wish the Viper and Hiss Driver's masks/helmets were removable. They would of just have then Trooper heads.

How about they base the new comic on the 25th Anniversary line and set it "somewhere" in the Marvel run without being too specific? That way the Devil's Due stuff still happened but it just hasn't happened yet and is of no concern. So basically it would mean that certain events from the Marvel run would have already happened (Serpentor, Cobra Civil War, 'death' and return of Cobra Commander, defection of Storm Shadow, etc.) while others would not have (the Joe base being shut down). The Joes and Cobras could sport their classic looks just like in the 25th toy line and because it's set at some point in the Marvel run it means that the fact that many characters are Vietnam vets would not be an issue (that being they are too old) and that characters who died in the Devil's Due run would still be alive (namely Lady Jaye). There would probably be a few continuity glitches but nothing major if it were done right.

I doubt they will get to most of the designs from the 90s. We will possibly see the 1991 Snakes-Eyes. Maybe even the Ninja Force one. And the Ninja Force Storm Shadow. When a Joe like Tollboth is more memorable than Bulletproof to most collectors, the 90s guys don't stand much of a chance of being made.

That one Joker is looking rather cartoony. Doesn't have the scarred up face that the other one does.
-
I want to say there were Star Trek figures based on the original Motion Picture that are in scale with 3 3/4" Joes but I could be confusing them with something else.

Remember that scene where Indiana Jones thinks Marion blew up in that cargo truck in Cairo? And then he is seen petting that monkey while taking shots of booze?
...I don't know what it is but I always thought that sound the monkey made to be really cute and always made me laugh.
I know this isn't the most USEFUL of threads or topics but I just had to get that off my chest
That scene always kind of disturbed me because it was the monkey that ratted Marion out thus causing her apparent (at that time) death. Indy was petting her killer!

I really hope they wipe that dirt off of Grunt's face before they release him, but I know they will not.
I think that is less dirt and more of a 5 o'clock shadow.
Ok, my nit pick...and I can fix this on my own, but why doesn't Hasbro equip the troopers with the AK assault rifle? It is just like the troop builder 6 pack back in '04....wrong gun choice. Does Hasbro not have the tool anymore to press these out? I can at least order from Maurader, but it just adds another stop to the process as with all the other troopers I got. Heck, Hasbro even managed to equiped the 'Toon troopers properly judging from the Toy Fair pics. Why can't they pull this off? Is it that hard??
Hey Kevin.....how many of these did you snatch up?
SHHHHHH!
Be quiet or we'll start getting guns that were released with figures from the 90's, and in colors like brown, green and purple!
Brown and green? I would have killed for such guns back then. More like pink, orange, and light blue.

Grunt loves him some Jello Pudding Pops.

Sgt. Slaughter. Starduster would just be a repaint with that rocket pack. Hasn't everyone gotten their fill of that already?

Does this then preclude the possibility of the near ubiquitous;
"G.I. Joe is the code for America's daring, highly-trained special mission force. It's purpose; To defend human freedom against Cobra, a ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world."
Since the team is billed as American, anyone think that would make Hollywood balk? Maybe they (the production team) would drop American, and make it simply "A daring, highly-trained special mission force." We'd still get the famous tag line, even though the original nature of the team is neutered in favor of feared loss of revenue made possible by the good folks in DC.
It's more or less already been established that G.I. Joe in this film is going to be like Action Force in the sense that it's an international team. As such there is obviously going to be an absence of America references.

So it pretty much looks like the logo that Hasbro was using on the post Sigma Six 8" figures?
-
Why does that one Indy figure come with an extra hand?
-
I don't think it has anything to do with bilingualism. Take another look at the card of the Joe figures. Something other than the artwork is missing. The American cards say "A Real American Hero" on the Joe packaging. The Canadian ones do not. Apparently this is the reason for the lack of artwork. The bilingual text is on a sticker after all.

Looks like he only has a minor role for this movie

Huh?
-
I doubt they will even put a swastika on the German trooper's uniforms let alone make a Hitler figure.
-
I like how that one Action Man has the classic logo on his shirt.
-
Looks like 12" stuff.
-
I doubt they will actually be called Neo-Vipers. Rather the Cobra Troopers/Vipers are going to have an exclusive movie look that apparently is similar in design to that of the Neo-Vipers. I mean what sense would it make to call them "Neo-Vipers" if Cobra is just starting out?
-
Actually I think the older Crimson Guard stuff were just red despite their name while with the new Crimson Guard someone actually choose a color labeled "crimson" to make them.
-
I've never really understood why people want Hasbro to release another Terror Drome or Flagg. When it comes down to do it for the same amount of money it would probably cost you could get a near complete vintage one on ebay. $500 is $500.

Couple of interesting things over at Hasbro's site...

I don't really understand how that MASS Device thing works. What are the 5 packs you have to buy to get the pieces to build it?
There's don't care, REALLY don't care, and then there is Wal-mart
in G.I. Joe

It might just be a communication problem. Wal*Mart employees a lot of people. It could be that these things were placed in a damage bin or what not and whoever has to go through that stuff looked it over not seeing why it would be considered damaged and put it back on the shelf. Or it could be that they just told you that they were going to take care of it to get rid of you.
