  1. The Sigma Six like suits don't really bother me. I doubt they will be wearing them the entire film anyway. Though you gotta wonder why they went with this design when there seems to be a rather steady stream of fan boys still complaining about the costume designs from the X-Men flicks. I also fully understand that ya can't really have people waliing around wearing the exact things they did in the cartoons/comics/toys. But putting something like say a mask on Storm Shadow would not have made the moviel ook unrealistic. In fact the Matrix/G.I. Joe Reloaded look he has is more unrealistic to me. The guy's an assassin. He looks like he just stepped off the fashion run way. With that said I think the design is OK. I just want a ninja damn it! Then there is little stuff like hawk's uniform. Why is he wearing a beret? Anybody that knows anything about G.I. Joe is going to either A: Confuse him with Flint or B: Leave the theater bitching about how they should have had Flint in the film instead if they were going to have a guy going around in a beret. Hawk really does look like Guile from the Street Fighter film.

  2. damn damn damn I missed them...if anyone saved them PM on over...

on a side note, judging from every body whining and moaning, they don't look much like the cartoon/comic look...but think about it...Does anyone remember Street Fighter the Movie, where everyone looked just like the video game? Do we want that?

The characters in Street Fighter looked little if anything like the characters in the video game.

  3. Wow. I'm not really happy with Storm Shadow at all. I realize they wouldn't have him wearing the mask 24/7 but I have a feeling we won't see him in one at all. And the Baroness with no glasses? I've been positive about this film until now. Why is it G4 can do a 5 minute G.I. Joe parody and have it look better?

  4. I'm gonna have to go with the nay-sayer crowd on this one...

It's going to be Sigma-6: The Movie

Scarlett looks more like Jean Grey from an X-Men comic book---complete with day-glow spandex---than anything remotely militaristic. Will Kelsey Grammer be making a camo appearance as Beast playing his "Senator" role in the US Government? Geezus, I shouldn't be giving these people any ideas!

    Day glow?

I see people have resorted to bitching about things that don't exist.

  5. I plan on buying the movie toys unless they completely suck so it won't be that big of a deal to me. It would be nice if there was just one G.I. JOE line though with some of the figures being based on the movie incarnations (kind of like how movie versions of characters showed up in the Marvel Legends line along side the normal versions).

  6. What is the Cobra Trooper situation in this movie? I have heard them referred to as Neo-Vipers. Are they actually called that in the script or is that just what the Vipers/Troopers look like?

  7. I don't totally dislike what I am hearing. Cobra Commander's original filecard lists his secondary military specialty as "experimental weaponry" and he was a revealed to be a "brilliant young scientist" in the animated movie. So him being a former soldier/scientist is actually cool with me. I am concerned however with Destro having a possible hand in his "creation". In that old script that has been floating around the Internet for years it had Destro creating Cobra Commander ala Bison creating Blanka in the Street Fighter flick. I hope that idea was dropped. Cobra Commander and Destro has a classic rivalry in the cartoons and comics and to have Destro as Cobra Commander's creation takes away from that.

  8. Well this sounds like they are changing a lot of stuff around and quite frankly I don't feel these changes were needed. So the Baroness is an American (I assume) who marries a Frenchman? Come on! How could they make a G.I. Joe movie and not have her being from Eastern Europe? Oh, and she is Cobra Commander's sister? Why can't she just be one of his followers? Why change things around this much? I'm also not feeling this Rex/Doctor BS about Cobra Commander. And is it really necessary that Destro's face actually be turned to metal like that? Also, it sounds if they are borrowing some of the story lines from the Devil's Due books (Hawk crippled, nanotechs, etc.). I don't know. I feel as if the person who wrote this script only knew the cartoon and after deciding to ignore the animated movie just up and started making up origins from thin air for Cobra Commander, Destro, and the Baroness as if they didn't already have one in the comics.

  9. The Renegades: Sgt. Slaughter, Mercer, Taurus, Red Dog, and Falcon. Give Slaughter and Falcon removable hats.

G.I. Joe Sea Force: Keel Haul, Shipwreck (Devil's Due look), Cutter, Wet-Suit and Top Side. Give Keel-Haul a removable hat.

Destro's Iron Grenadiers: Destro (IG uniform but with chrome silver head like in later Marvel issues), Iron Grenadier x2, Voltar (black or maybe red uniform instead of pink), and Metal Head (DiC cartoon look).

G.I. Joe Tiger Force: Duke (classic TF colors), Roadblock (classic TF colors), Skystriker (Wild Weasel body with new head in classic TF colors), Sabertooth (Firefly painted like unproduced Sabertooth figure) Snake-Eyes (V2 look SE in yellow and black tiger stripes because it would be one funky looking figure).

  10. You know I was just about to ask , What people liked better V1 or V2 of the Heat Vipers.

Looks cool. Though I want to refer to them as the "Cobra Sour Apple Brigade" for some reason.

  11. I'm not really a fan of these guys. I don't like the idea of each trooper type having to have a "uniform" that looks nothing like the rest of Cobra. Essentially a Cobra Flamethrower Trooper to me would more or less look like a Blue Shirt in the sense that the Jet Pack Trooper does. As such I tend to look at many of the later troopers as being individuals.
