  1. Well, it's probably one of the most honest explanations... even if it was on the second try... we've ever received from a movie studio or a toy company. You don't have to read in between too many lines to figure out the film just stinks. I doubt though that it's problems will be alleviated by more Tatum Channing.
  2. What is Green Arrow trying to do here? His bow is empty. Is he about to shoot the sword with the bow?
  3. That's a pretty bad logo. Aside from being difficult to read (I see the "C" but I don't read the "D.") it has absolutely nothing about it that says "Comics." There's nothing fun about it. Then again... There's been nothing fun about their comics for years either! Zing!
  4. Unfortunately it sounds like the Avengers and Green Lantern sets are going to be based on their movie versions. Bleehhh...!
  5. I loved the JLU line but I also regard it as one of the most unpleasant experiences collecting a toy line ever. Mattel just asked too much of the collector and made it too difficult. That Eclipso six pack was just shameful and who ever thought of that one should be haunted with guilt for the rest of his life. After missing a bunch of hard to find figures like Atomic Skull, Volcana, the Key and Steel, I finally waved the white flag on this line. Fifty dollars for a figure is ridiculous. I wouldn't do it.
  6. I'm not confident in this line having long legs whatsoever. So far, I've seen most of these figures just sitting around. They just aren't nice enough to reel in the collectors and the general public just isn't ready for a twenty dollar action figure* regardless of whether or not it comes with a piece of a street corner! * Lately whenever the subject of the ever nearing twenty dollar price tag comes up, I remember DC Direct's experiment to sell their very first Wonder Woman figure through Kay-Bee at a price tag of twenty bucks! This was in the mid-nineties when most figures were still arou
  7. Aaggh! That Young Justice Artemis looks terrible next to Green Arrow and Red Arrow. It looks like the two guys are standing next to a blow-up doll!
  8. Toy Fair is a little over a month away. I wonder if we'll see Wave 3 there.
  9. Yeesh! Well... This wave is a little more interesting than the first one but once again, I'm only interested in a single character of the line-up. Larfleeze in Wave 1 and Red Robin in Wave 2. I'll also add that while I don't care for the NuDC and find most of their new designs over-worked and unnecessarily busy ("Hey! The Flash has a great costume but you know what would make it look better? More lines all over the place!"), these Superman and Flash figures do look like nice representations of their look. Nice figures of designs I'm not interested in.
  10. I wish Sportsmaster just had a bit more detail to him. This may also be a naive question but does he come with any accessories? A bat? Hockey stick...? Anything?
  11. Here's an odd item... http://www.ebay.com/itm/A15-DC-UNIVERSE-GREEN-LANTERN-MOVIE-SERIES-TOMAR-RE-/320818702240?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ab248e7a0#ht_2321wt_951 It looks to be a Tomar Re figure from the Green Lantern 3 3/4" movie line however this Tomar is a repaint of a standard movie Tomar figure in a comic book accurate costume. Given that this figure is from a Chinese seller, it's unlikely to be a custom... and if it is a custom, it's pretty sneaky of the seller not to mention it in the description. I don't remember this figure being announced as part of the regula
  12. I honestly wish Mattel included that light blue Superman in this wave instead of that stupid white Flash nobody asked for.
  13. I read the first issue. I really tried to give this thing the benefit of the doubt but it was pretty juvenile. The dialogue was obnoxious and the plot absolutely BEGGED the audience not to think about it too hard.
  14. It's a shame DCUC is going out with such a lousy CnC choice... and this was a wave where I could've picked them all up too.
  15. I would be stunned if that wasn't exactly what we got.
  16. Sooooo.... Mattel is doing exactly what they were going to do... BUT Atrocitous is an exception to what they were going to do??? Mattel: "Hey Gang! Sign up for our cool subscription service! It's going to be the only place where you can get all those cool fan-requested classic figures we can't sell at retail anymore... except for our very first offering which is apparently an exception to our whole premise!"
  17. I love how MasterJailer didn't bring up marketing at all. Given that First Appearance Catwoman has been included in the upcoming Batman Legacy wave... yes.
  18. Another laughable one. They make figures you don't ask for and you complain. They make the figures you do ask for and you complain. Or say you don't want them. all. I'm no fan of DCUC's Wave 17 with all those multi-colored Lantern characters. I didn't ask for them. I didn't like them. I didn't buy them. Still, I understand those characters have their fans and buyers (Tho I guess not many from the way this wave is sitting in most Targets) Flashpoint Plas however... Well, I guess I missed all those Flashpoint Plastic Man Request Threads.
  19. Yes. That's called "marketing"...The Law of Supply and Demand. The most requested figures will probably be MATTY COLLECTOR figs...although they did throw a bone with LARFLEEZE. So they're saving the less requested characters for their retail offerings?? Mattel: "Sorry, Walmart. Everyone wants a Poison Ivy. We can sell her on our own and charge twenty bucks for her. Here... you can have this Plastic Man nobody asked for. Good luck."
  20. They can sell First Appearance Catwoman at retail, but Poison Ivy could only happen through the subscription????
  21. Of this entire boring line-up I keep coming back to this one and asking, "Why are you here? Who asked for you???" I have to echo a sentiment currently roaring across all of the internet and even asked by myself earlier in this thread... We need a special subscription in order to make Jay Garrick and Poison Ivy available but Mattel can confidently offer a Plastic Man nobody asked for at retail???
  22. With the exception of Batman Beyond (Who just reeks of the figure Mattel came up with when they asked themselves, "We need a re-issue to cut corners. What Batman figure have we not re-released enough that we can use here to anchor this wave and save a few bucks?") the rest of this poor, poor line-up just look like characters Geoff Johns wanted to see from his own storylines made into action figures. Then again, on a desperately optimistic note, I remember when DCUC first came around, I wasn't too thrilled with their first wave either. Orion? The Demon??? Nice figures but there were a wh
  23. I haven't been impressed by any of these Young Justice figures. Too cartoony in the face. Twenty freaking dollars for each. I did however indulge in Red Arrow. Very nice figure. A little on the cartoony side facially but not enough to kill him for me.
