The DC Direct First Appearances figures are on sale in December at Alter Ego Comics for $10 each. You can check out Batman, Flash, Shazam and Wonder Woman as they first appeared in comics here. Numerous other previous DC Direct figures are available to order too.

DC is gouging the fans by releasing two hardcover volumes, each with a cover price of $19.95, but they are very nice books and the first six issues that I've read were good. Vol. 2 comes out this Wednesday, December 3, so we'll see if the story finishes out in a good way.

Alright, who else thinks that Kim Bauer needs to die this season? She may be nice to look at, but she serves no purpose on that show other than to create unnecessary plot lines. And, let me get this straight. She goes from being a nanny to working for CTU!?

My whole family is psyched for the Polar Express. My 4 year-old watched the trailer at least 5 times.

One of my favorite movies ever is James Cameron's The Abyss. But it seems like most people that I convince to watch it don't like it. Same goes for Michael Mann's Manhunter.

That was a truly incredible review, Venal. I bought the extended edition of TTT yesterday and I can't wait to watch it this week-end. I may try to squeeze in the extended edition of FOTR first so that I'm all set for ROTK in December.

Those all look great! I'll be opening my Shazam tomorrow and I'm seriously thinking about a Batman now that I've seen those pics. After the lousy job that DCD did with KC series 1, I didn't order too many of the series 2 figures. Watch the "spoilers" folks. Someone mentioned something about a villian being the brains behind it all. I'm reading the series in the hardcover format, so I've only read the first six issues. If that post was correct, then the big mystery has been spoiled for me . Back on topic - I'll be getting Batman, Joker & Ivy.
