  1. Custom 3.75" Lobo action figure. Recipe is simple: Use slugterra body as base (Dont recall the name of the character) Add Marvel universe PileDriver lower body, resized Death's head legs, cutom hands, gun and hook and chain Repaint. Style fitting animated Lobo
  2. Custom 3.75" Sugar Man. Wanted to get a raw, gritty, ugly look with a happy medium between several depictions of the character. Hence, used parts from varying scale figures to complete this guy. Parts used: Arms: Black Panther 6" Marvel legends line and 6" Wonderman Marvel legends line Head, upper back: Milliput sculpting putty Legs: mix of 3.75" executioner (thighs, calves) and 6" Banshee (feet, ankles) Teeth, eyes, tongue: cut out bits from rubber like parts/molds Weapons: hammer: MU Thor, Executioner Belts, straps, holsters: custom made, various materials
  3. Bane 4" custom action figure. Various parts from various scales implied
  4. Why not we reserve the 'insight' into what the movie is, and border around just 'what it looks like'. What it looks like is a promising, well acted, emotional and violent take; and that defines the Joker pretty well. As for some comments stating that there is 'disjointed take' between the DC movies; there is no general rule stating that there has to be a 'reference'. That statement though, is not true, as the same actors have already played in the JLA and Suicide Squad movies; namely Aquaman, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman.. etc.. I don't see where there is 'no acknowledgement' between the movies. Folks will always complain. I for a change, could see stand alone movies and as long as they are well made, have no gripe in it.
  5. Well, I liked all the wave 1 3.75" - 4" figures. But, some how, found these at Dollarama yesterday, selling for $ 2.50 a piece! Of these, too, they specifically had Thorin, who was rare in Toronto somehow, and the never before seen Gandalf figure. Come to think of it, if they are at Dollarama, along with Waves 1 and 2 of the GI Joe Retaliation figures, which are selling for about the same price, don't know where this is going.
  6. Toronto report: Just found GI Joe Retaliation first and second wave figures at Dollarama, selling for 2.50 ea. Bet more are coming
  7. Mattel made second runs of each figure until Man-E-Faces. That's why you can find figures with "The Original" on them besides He-Man and Skeletor. They stopped that after Man-E and only had the customer service stock sold for figures there afterwards. LOL!... I don't think they made second runs (actually tooled the factory to make more of these figures). They made one HUGE batch and packaged them accordingly. Mattel figured the best way to sell most of them off is to sell them in two parts, The second run (being a chase variant) having the "original" burst on it... but ultimately, they were left with overstock. I remember a few cases where some people got the "original" blister card by accident during the initial release of certain figures . After Man E Faces, Mattel started reducing the amount of figures to be made because prior to that, they were over producing them. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong... but I'm always right so... It is a possibility, but literally, Mattel themselves are stating the Battlecat, He-man, Stratos and Skeletor figures to be re-issues. Again, as you imply, they could be lying (Like when they didn't know how a batch of their figures ended up at a chain like Walmart).
  8. It is quite annoying really. I too wanted the Fisto figure, but can only dream of it on the secondary market. It is not fair. I see toy reviewers routinely say that they wish Mattel would mass produce these as these even had the potential to be great kids' toys, not just adult collector material, like Mattel solicits it to be.
  9. Upon a quick check, Skeletor, He-man, Stratos, battlecat are all re-issues. Perhaps even more, but these are definitely re-issued figures. And they are still available at Matty.
  10. Was wondering; the next 'unarticulated' line of Ultimate Spiderman 3.75" figures had already hit at least one Walmart in the area. The coolest figure (in my opinion) of the previous wave was Doc Ock. To-date I have only found 2 at the same Walmart, and no other stores (Toys r Us, Target, Marshalls etc.) have him, or he sold out pretty fast. Any idea if this is a 1 per case, or chase figure?
  11. It did happen with one o their more mainstream figures though; He-man. Some buyers said that the 'tweaks they made were barely noticeable, and others said that the paint ops and 'tweaks' were there, somewhat. Mattel's reps have publicly said in various forums that they will not re-issue the others, and it seems it will hold true as the new line coming in 2013- 2014 is pretty cool, and enough to keep the subscriptions and sell-outs going.
  12. I had actually jumped off several titles after the NEW 52 launch as the DC Universe was 'overhauled'. I heard now, however, that the Green Lantern series in spite of the NEW 52 retains all of its 'original series' storyline and characterization. I am looking to try to get the next volume, but can anyone (who has continuously read the series confirm that the storyline and characterization arr indeed as they are? My other subsequent questions are: 1) If the series is in the same direction and mold, then are these characters somehow situated 'outside' normal 52 continuity? (Or has any of the characters gotten in touch with the 'new' versions of Superman, or Flash etc.) 2) If they are indeed in touch with the ramifications of the new 52, then what about the 'Lantern' who interacted with Batman in the JLA storyline. Is that an entirely new Lantern? Hence, in a capsule, to get back into my favourite DC series, I wanted to clarify: - If the new Green Lantern universe is situated in continuity of the New 52 - If Hal Jordan is back - If there are ramifications in the new Lantern universe associated with the new 52 as well. I am asking this as I was also informed by my regular comic vendor that Jordan is still 'exiled' but the rest are working in the New 52. Some help please.
  13. I have been monitoring a few locations for new figures, or figures from the latest wave. The ones that I have been trying to grab have eluded me. If they are new figures, they fly off the racks, which is why at 2 Walmart locations and 2 Toysr Us locations in my locality, they only have few figures left, and those are from the older waves. The ones that are left over are mostly Spectre, Black Lightning or a Green Arrow. Recent additions of Gotham Swats, Gordon, Wildcat, Alexander Luthor, Superman Prime, Omacs, Nightwing, Star Sapphire, Starfire, Powergirl etc. etc. were gone as soon as they landed on the pegs. I guess it is a location thing, where demand is higher than others, and sometimes the other way round.
