  1. I had an intact Mattel new 52 Darkseid, but I customized it not long after getting it into a larger, taller more accurate figure. I just wanted to see how it looked as a figure the size of the BAF Darkseid. It is sort of a neat looking figure as it is, though, and it can make a good generic MOTUC villain. The Mattel DKR Batman is one of my all time favorite figures. At first glance it does seem to be made of mostly MOTUC parts, but I think quite a bit of it was created new for that figure. It has an upper and lower torso that I'm pretty sure were only used on DKR Batman, and obviously a unique head, cape, belt, trunks (molded connected to the belt), gloves and boots.
  2. Wow, GuitarDevil, that's awesome! You wouldn't happen to have a chance to get one of those other Clawfuls, would you? I (or my wife actually got it for me) found an Adora at the only BL near enough for me to check. That was the only figure they had, and they only had quantity of one of it. Or, at least that's what they said, anyway. I'm not bothering with checking 40 or 50 miles away stores... there ain't nothing being found worth that much hassle. There must be a lot of people who know what MOTUC is if all of these figures are selling so well. I assume that certain figures will just sit on the store shelf for months or even a year or more... I might be wrong about this, and maybe it's not the same sort of thing, but I think the local Big Lots has 2003 Mattel Batman two packs where one comes with Joker and another comes with Robin that have been there for years. It's difficult to believe that people are gobbling up multiple Icariuses and Clawfuls and such, even at $10.
  3. Wow, what a greedy, disgusting jerk that guy sounds like. Called a different BL from her store... I wonder if he was using a cell phone, or if he had the gall to ask to use the store's phone. I can understand someone being excited about Big Lots getting these at a bargain price, but purchasing the store's entire stock on the shelves to try to resell just because they're on sale for ten bucks each seems like a fool's errand. Unless... he's just a big fan of the figures with deep pockets and is purchasing them to donate to Toys For Tots or something. Which he probably isn't. I guess it's also possible he's buying multiples to try to pick the best paint job or packaging condition, or he has more than one kid who wants the same figure. But I'm probably going out of my way to speculate that the guy is anything but a scalper of the dumb sort. A question... if the Skeletor and Molarr set is ten bucks, why not just get one if you really want a Skeletor figure, and repaint the face? I'm not questioning or criticizing your choice, I'm just suggesting that at five bucks a figure why not get one and customize it the way you want?
  4. The wife found me an Adora at the local Big Lots today .
  5. I think someone in my area bought them all to sell on eBay... I did not find one figure... My sister was able to find me 3 in her area... Smh... That sucks. But at least you were able to get three. It doesn't look like there's too many of the more sought after figures being included in the Big Lots stuff, so I can't imagine a lot of profit in selling most of them on ebay. I'm sure plenty will try, though. Maybe there's a little profit in the Megator or Vykron, but not a lot because they were always slow sellers anyway and it seems like the shipping fees will keep it from being a bargain unless the price is right. Again, if any of you guys found a Clawful that you bought and don't want, I'll take it. You can remove it from the blister and send the figure and the backer card (folded is ok) in an envelope at First Class rates or in a Priority small flat rate. I'll include a few extra dollars for your trouble.
  6. Wow lol. I'm about a month and a half late to this party. I heard about people finding stuff at Big Lots but I didn't think there was anything to it. Today I called six different Big Lots in NC, and none have any MOTUC. But they all say they did about a month ago. I hope all of those rabid purchases went to a collector who admires them, a customizer who suddenly has a bunch of new projects or a kid who's slamming them into a mud puddle or something. I hope anyone who gets them just to resell at silly prices is very disappointed lol. Anyone have a Clawful they don't want? He's the only one from the list someone posted a few pages back that I want enough to ask about except for maybe an Adora or the Vykron or Molarr sets for customizing fodder.
  7. I also agree with the thing about toys r us being more likely to get MOTUC if it were really a beginning of seeing product at retail, since they did actually get figures packaged specificallty for them that apparently did do pretty good in stores. They could always send a Whiplash, Clawful, Fisto, Sorceress and Mekaneck to my nearby Walmart so I can buy them lol.
  8. I don't think I've seen a local Walmart restock anything anyone who visits these boards collects since... before October? I don't remember. It's been quite a while. I saw some of the newer Marvel Universe figures once at one store, a She Hulk and Foundations Forum Spider-man. But for all I know they could have been "returned" to that store by someone. Unfortunately the store I had as a good source for decades has become a tumbleweed store or a dumping ground for returns in recent years. I think they might've put out some sort of new assortment case of Marvel Legends Wave One and Two in the past few months, since a new blue flame Ghost Rider is on the pegs along with the masked Daken and neon Spidey as well as the usual slow sellers. But, again, it could have been returns or simply a case they had in the back for months. And they did get the assortment with Mystique, Punisher and grey Deadpool two or three times, so that's something. I also saw the newer Batman stuff made for younger kids that has the sort of neat looking Killer Croc in it at one store. I've never seen any vintage collection Star Wars figures in stores past the Evazon wave, which I only saw one each of at one store, on damaged cards with price stickers I haven't seen them use before at that Walmart, never saw the Tarkin and Nikto or Malgus waves that came before the Evazon wave, I think, none of the Batman DKR Movie Masters other than the first assortment with Batman, Bane, Alfred and the Gordon, no repaint Cap, Loki and Hawkeye Legends scale Avengers, and none of the new Batman and DC Unlimited stuff, but I don't think anyone else has, either. I was hoping a nearby Walmart would get the Action League sets with Larfleeze and the Atom with the Plastic Man hangglider, but probably not. It is neat to see the picture of the store with the MOTUC Robotos and Gygors, but I think like others that it's probably limited to that store. It would be strange if they were testing sales based on a figure who's entire production run is defective and another figure that has probably always been a slow seller.
  9. Well, it makes the giant calves look smaller. And the tiny feet look bigger. I must be one of the only people who like the Lizard neck articulation. I think it's useful and doesn't look bad.
  10. Hmm. Castle Greyskullman. He should team up with the Thing, Badrock and Concrete and form a rock group! Hah! A rock group.
  11. That is nice to hear that the Dollar General figures are apparently being stocked again.
  12. No problems with the elbows on the one I got, but the crotch scrapes the paint off of the leg at the top where it's near the hip ball because they kind of fudged that part of the design. Despite the problems, I think it's a good figure and I hope the swappable heads version with the backpack and skateboard isn't tough to get.
  13. That is a great suggestion. I think Mystique even comes with the same weapon, albeit cast in a different color plastic. A Hope Summers head might be one you'd like to use for Black Widow. There's probably something out there that could pass for her belt and gauntlets... maybe the ones from the original Toybiz figure. You can probably find both the Toybiz figure and maybe even a head from the Hasbro figure for a good price on ebay with a little diligence.
  14. That would be awesome to see. I guess for it to truly be in scale it would have to be at least a few feet tall. I've decided to dumb down this paragraph. Please, no stickers on the new MOTUC Castle Greyskull.
