  1. DONE.

Looking forward to SDCC previews to see what's in store in 2014!

    (Any early rumors?)

According to the description on the Matty site if they get to the second tier we will get something retooled and cool. they may tease us at SDCC with that

  2. All politics and NBA illuminati aside, Stern is retiring i dont like him as well so there is a plus. But you mean to tell me that all that made Ginoblili toss the ball away and commit all those turn overs? or made Duncan miss those lay ups? or made Green foul Chamlbers?

I respect the HELL outta Tim Duncan and Tony Parker and know they are 2 of the BEST to play the game. I would have cheered to see Duncan lift the trophy again, but the Heat played great ball last night, and that needs NOT be taken away from them. Refs did call many fouls in the Heats favor since the Spurs were on the FT line ALOT more than Miami...soooo i think the refs calling everything in the heats favor argument is invalid.

  3. Calls went and didnt go both ways Clam...you cannot take away that the Heat are talented...they are young and talented...The Spurs are talented as well, but it wasnt what you said that lost them that game....why did Popovitch take Duncan out? He was afraid of the Heats 3 pt shooters...they have been absent since the Pacers series...the Spurs choked that last min of regulation and in OT and the Heat took advantage of the opportunity...the NBA had the ropes ready and the damn trophy ready to go before that final min so i do not buy for a min they WANT the HEat to win. This is one of best series i have watched in a long time and game 7 can go either way.

  4. Cap Jr and Huntress are due out in the next few months...The opened up sign ups for 2014. They will show the 1st 5 or 6 at SDCC and then they are going to show us what we could get if they reach enough subs to the 2nd tier. If its a Granny Goodness i will buy into 3 subs just to do my part!

  5. I FINALLY saw this movie yesterday. It wasnt bad...not as bad as most people claimed it to be. I had a few laughs, i had a huge fanboygasim when all the suits came to play. and Pepper...WHOA! It will be interesting to see how they move forward with Avengers 2 from this point.

My ONLY 2 gripes was with Mandarian (another story for another day). And here is the main gripe. We just had a SUPERPOWER Team up movie...Tony got his house blown to the depths of the Pacific, was left for dead and he didnt even get a shield agent to come assist...Pepper was kidnapped you dont think Fury would have had lent a hand to help prevent that??? Thats all my gripes!

  6. As a Miami (everything) Fan, i do not think the Heat deserved the championship after the way they played in game 3 and 5 (but i'll still take it) All i read on the web is missed called this miss called that...both sides of the court are getting freebies. Game 7 will be interesting and i have to agree with ESPN i dont think the Spurs have enough in reserve to win a game 7

  7. Well, I will throw my 2 cents in. First off I enjoyed the movie quite a bit, but I think there were some things that hindered it from becoming a great movie.

The biggest problem I have with MOS is a problem that most comic book movies have succumbed too. I call it the Armageddon effect. It probably started before that, but anywho. I am sick and tired of watching cities get destroyed. FF 2, Transformers 1 and 3, TDKR, GI Joe, Avengers, ect. If I want to watch a disaster movie I will go watch 2012 or The day after tomorrow. I feel like this kind of "action" is general and takes away from what most of us want to see. I don't want to watch Shia running around in Transformers trying not to get crushed by buildings and killing decepticons, nor do I want to see Perry white and random people screaming and running away from the 50th crumbling building. Save money by not shooting useless explosions and put that money on better cg and cooler hand to hand combat scenes with Superman. This fad of a city being destroyed is as tired as the "the hero" dying only to be resurrected (Thor, Sue Storm, Optimus, Sam, ect) No one really believes your dead

Another problem I have with this film is that it is called man of steel, yet it feels like the MOS is just one character in a crowded cast. It plays more as an ensemble piece. Between, the Colonel, Perry, Lois, the Scientist, Jor-El, and Zod. The characters seem just as important as Supes rather than being supportive cast.

Finally, I feel like they bit off more than they could chew. This movie had LOTR syndrome and did not know when to end. Clark did not seem to get developed because the movie was in such a rush to squeeze everything in. Ultimately, I think the luster of this film will fade. Eventually this film will be one that we pop in the DVD player and skip to the last hour (although the prologue with Jor-El was awesome and Crowe really is a scene stealer)

All that being said. I enjoyed the movie, but it could have been exceptional rather than good. A lot of this is opinion, but that is my take on Man Of Steel

Some great points bud....the only thing im gonna expand on here is when you said Clark was under developed. In the end its Superman, he is a cultural icon. We did a poll for the shop i work at and went to a Casino and a Middle School and asked random people if they knew 6 characters. The list was Superman, Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Wolverine, Black Widow ( i know the list was very random we pulled names out of a hat) We asked if they knew who these super heroes were and how. 90% of the Casino goers (ages 22-80) knew who Superman was and were able to give an origin explaination, same with WW. 55% of the Middle School kids (ages 12-15) gave us the same information. Wolverine, BW, and GL were more top of mind due to the movies origins are in thier mind fresh.

Here is my point. Superman, Batman, hell even Spiderman do NOT need thier origins retold (exception is the Krytpon scenes they kicked ass and worked for this movie) You can retell certain snippets in flash backs and not involve 45 min to an hour explaining how they got there.

But in regards to your Armaggedon Syndrome I never put that together until you pointed it out and you know what your right! that is a trend that keeps being used and used and used!

  8. JayCue what part of MS are you from? I'm close to Starkville. They got one shipment in of of the Planet X bats and the dark knight one. Have yet to find Wonder Woman.

I live in Ocean Springs, just outside of Biloxi! I have gotten those Batman figs from my buddy in Florida. We are expecting another WW shipment at the shop soon. I know we have an order in, just waiting to see it arrive!

  9. Cornboy from the 4 Horsemen has gone on record that the Red Hood we got in the Sub came from the WB excecs...the one they designed was the Biker version. What gets me confused is they pumped out a TON of DC Unlimited figs for the Injustice Game and sorta skipped on the Batman Unlimited. We know that we are getting GL Injustice to the DC Unlimited and Damian for the Batman Unlimited....but until SDCC we will not know the future. I agree that the product we have been getting has been sub par but that has been the trend in all action figs at the moment. I forsee a licence shift in the near future.
