  1. Should we make a DCUC vs ML thread,I think that would be better. This thread is about wave 8 after all. If the mods could move all of the ML vs DC post to that thread that would be awesome.

There is no way posts can be moved we don't have that kind of power

Actually, I think we do have that ability.

  2. No body is running me off anywhere boy. I've been here for years.

    Keyboard nobody.

I recommend playing nice though....and posting nothing but antagonizing posts won't get you very far here. Take that from somebody that's been here for MANY years. <_<

  3. i will pick her up but i could think of alot of characters i would rather have seen. did notice that she doesnt have the thigh articulation. wonder y?

She WILL have the thigh articulation.

  4. I've been on TNI for a while now,but didn't sign up to be a member till a few days ago, just thought about some topics that people might like and posted, but other than that I'm just an average Joe.

Glad you decided to signup and post! :)

    He's not a moderator of this section, so he can't! Mwuhahahahahahaha @firedevil@ @firedevil@ @firedevil@

  6. ANOTHER case of Wave 7B was stocked today at WM. I was hoping for the Batman and Green Lantern WGSH case. DRAT!

You do know that at this point a Blue Beetle could probably net you both of those WGSH right?

Seriously? There's like 2 or 3 Blue Beetles hanging on the pegs there tonight. Just got back from that same WM.

  7. Good God...does anybody have the Wave 2 Ronnie Firestorm MOC for a decent price? Mint/near-mint card? eBay wants around $30 for him, it's insane!

I don't need the Wave 7 re-issue...I need the Wave 2 one, with the Grodd leg. Any help is greatly appreciated!

You could always buy the Wave 7 reissue Ronnie and then pick up the Wave 2 Jason for the Grodd leg. It would be cheaper than $30! Even better, I'm sure there are people that bought both Ronnie & Jason from Wave 2 so there's gotta be some extra legs out there....

  8. I noticed a post by an online retailer that their Mattel Rep has told them to expect DCUC Wave 8 mid to late April. This could change at any time, but I'm betting that it's right on. I am REALLY excited for this wave, especially Hawkgirl and Dr. Fate.

  9. Mattel's philosophy seems to be "We're going to throw whatever piece of crap against the wall and if the fans come buy to clean it up, we'll throw more. Otherwise, we've done all we can and it's their fault we're not throwing more crap."

Seeing as how Hasbro is able to get Star Wars, Marvel Universe, and GI Joe regularly on the pegs, it amazes me to watch Mattel repeatedly blunder JLU, DCUC, and now Infinite Heroes. IH in fact may be the worst of it since this line, which was unveiled last year to HUGE anticipation, utterly squandered that good will and enthusiasm with one bad decision after another.

My observation of this line went like this:

    1. Pics of the prototypes were unveiled at San Diego and Toy Fair. The sculpts were acceptable. The diversity and number of characters were great. We had troop builders like Gotham Police and the Thanagarians! I was a little disappointed in the emphasis on modern characters over classic ones. Brandon Choi...? Ugh! Still, I had high hopes.

    2. Pics of the prototypes were released to websites. These were the more detailed early sculpts with the balled fists. Excitement is running high. They look good. Some complain about the limited articulation but overall, there's a good amount of anticipation.

    3. Pics of the actual figures are released. What happened?! We see the huge needlessly open monkey hands and cheap under-whelming sculpts. My spider sense goes off, but I foolishly reserve my final judgement until I see the actual figures.

    4. Wave 1 is released with the gutsy, but unexciting selection of Guy Gardner, Shazam, Adam Strange, And Reverse Flash. They look as cheap as I'd feared. Shazam is out right unacceptable. Out of the four only Reverse Flash is remotely tolerable. Worst of all, these single cards go for a ridiculous 4.99 at Target and a criminal 6.99 at TRU!

    5. The 3-packs are released at Target. In drug dealer fashion, they're released at 9.99, but are soon after MARKED UP to 15.99!! (We'll get them hooked at 9.99 and then they'll be back at 15.99!) Oddly enough, TRU sells the 3 packs at 12.99

    6. The first four of Wave 1 continues to rot on every peg. The few collectors of this line are frustrated by the inability to find later releases such as Black Adam and Atom. Later waves are more elusive than Big Foot!

    7. Exclusive multi-packs are released thru TRU. The Oa set is a ridiculous 34.99 and the Metropolis set is an utterly offensive 49.99!!!! Both sets rot where they're shelved.

My guess is that in the inner offices at Mattel Headquarters, Mr. Mattel already sees the writing on the death certificate for this line. They'll probably eek out one more year and then quietly cancel the line claiming, "Well, the fans just didn't support this line."

One of the best posts I've ever read on this forum. Kudos!

  10. 7B is shipping en masse here in San Antonio...7A is quite scarce...

Seems to be like that all over! I'm gonna get Barda and Kid Flash from an online store so I can complete my Atom Smasher.

If you haven't already, check TrU for the 7A wave - After the mad rushes to Walmart cleared them all out, I came across a fresh set there. They had been stuck on wave 4 for a bit, and completely skipped over 6, apparently, but seem to be working on catching up.

Thanks for the suggestion, but the TRU here closed a couple years ago. :(

I've ordered Barda, Kid Flash, and a ton of previous DCUC figures from an online retailer so I will be pretty much caught up.
