  1. Hey gang, just finished 2 more Rise of Cobra customs in their vintage colors. I'm really thinking they missed the boat on doing this in the movie. They still look techie and cool and slick, but the vintage uniform colors just make them all stand out. Hope you all dig. -Snake
  2. It's okay. Thanks again, everybody. I made the weapon out of a leftover SW staff and custom cut styrene blades. (That was an insane learning experience.) The dragons are waterslide decals that I custom made. She's a one of a kind and too much work to ever repeat. If you like her enough to want to add her to your collection, she doesn't have any bids yet so get her while you can.
  3. Haven't done this per say but trying to get a specific color is hard to do, even with a white base figure. In my experience, dying is good for 3 things...1) getting a base color before applying paint. 2) Coloring joints that won't rub away with time and use. 3) Making the whole figure black. Still, you also have to clear coat it after the dye job or it will rub off on other parts and other figures. I learned this the hard way long ago. Good luck.
  4. Really nice work. That upper body was a great idea for Cammy.
  5. Thanks for the kind words, gang. He's up for auction on ebay now if you want to add him to your collection. Click the link in my sig. Snake
  6. Bump! He's on ebay right now if you want to add him to your Legacy Collection.
  7. She was a pain in the butt to make...but I like how she turned out. -Snake
  8. Yeah, mine is the same way...if you ask me the Hasbro deco is all wrong anyway when you look at the movie armor. I'm going to strip mine to bare black.
  9. I'm sure this is how it went down early in the scripting process... Hmmm...Tatum wants to be the ninja but we wanna show off his handsome face so nix to that, we'll make him Duke. And Wayans is on board no matter what character we make him so let's just look at our plot. Plot requires Duke's buddy to fly a plane...hmmmm...can't be Alpine...can't be Stalker. Call is placed to Larry Hama. Hey Larry, are there any joes that could be on the ground in the beginning and then fly a plane later? Well, Ripcord could but he... Thanks, Larry, Wayans is Ripocord. Perfect!
  10. Quick Kick has never lived up to his true potential...Bruce Lee of the GI JOE team. So I gave him a more practical uniform and now he does.
  11. Wasn't the biggest Legacy fan right off the bat but Cade grew on me. I was disappointed Hasbro's release didn't feature the bare arms and tattoos so I made my own.
  12. Thanks! Custom made (by me) waterslide decal.
  13. I loved the Force Unleashed! Played it on Wii so the graphics weren't the best, but that was more than made up for by the fact that you could actually "force push" a stormtrooper. But the "uptight Imperial" Juno figure Hasbro gave us just didn't cut it especially after we saw her let her hair down as she and the Starkiller became closer. Here's the sexier version we all wanted...
  14. I was so psyched when Hasbro announced a new Mara Jade figure, but oh so disappointed when it arrived from her purple outfit to her "stoned" face deco and lack of red hair. Here's Mara the way I wanted her.
  15. As a kid reading the comics, I wondered what his face was like, especially after reading how it was scarred; first, shot up in Vietnam, and second blasted with fire and glass while saving Scarlett from a falling helicopter. In several issues, we're teased by seeing people's horrified reaction to it. I still remember a fight on a speeding boat where SE's adversary pulls off his mask and is so horrified, he falls into the water. So many issues and years later, before he gets a new kind of miraculous surgery unlike his previous surgeries to fix his face, we get to see it. Yes, it's gross, but not as gross as we expected, right? Well, I chalk that up to his using the muscles of his face to make it even worse when he needs to ala Two Face.
  16. Needless to say, Snake Eyes is my favorite Joe. So far, the 25th Anniversary line has given us some great figures of him...but none of them lived up to my specific vision of him which is an amalgamation of the Marvel comics, original package art, and modern military sense. So using parts of he various figures that have been released and some sculpting, modding, and painting, I've made my own which I'm calling "Ultimate Snake Eyes." Some simple things...I made the blade of his sword matte black 'cause a ninja doesn't need the shine of his sword giving him away when he's sneaking up on people to slit their throats. I painted the visor to make it appear more metallic and bring out the sculpted detail. I cut down and moded the backpack to make it smaller and more manageable. Yeah, he has lots of stuff to bring with him on missions, but it shouldn't hinder his ability to move. I modded the v1 legs to fit the 5 pack body. They just makes more sense than the "Batman Utility Belt Tubes" around his ankles they gave him. (The original figure had pouches!)
  17. A few more... "Lifeline to the rescue! See, it says so on my pants!" "Whoa, Stalker is pretty messed up. I better break out the duct tape!"
  18. I was never a big fan of Lifeline until he had a few good Special Missions issues that explored his character a little bit more than the simple pacifist dogma he spouted in the cartoons. But two of my close buddies are die-hard fans and one donated the Rescue case after he saw him. Hope you guys dig him. "They think they're so funny giving me a shoulder holster on my web gear...well, I'll show them!"
