  1. I think DCD's modern JLA series will have some decent articulation. But the problim is that DCD is not consistent. Their Superman figures are really awesome, but when I saw the Kingdom Come stuff, it looked like a 3rd grader had painted them. Mind you, the modern JLA stuff looks fantastic, and my Mattel Zip-Line Batman will stand proud wit the team. I probably won't buy the HUSH figures, except maybe the new Huntress. I am patirnt enough to wait and see what the Four Horsemen and Mattel have cooked up for us next. The Horsemen claim to be working on some new villains besides the ones already previewed. There's also a rumor of a Batman with interchangeable Bruce Wayne head, that's just a rumor though.
  2. The HUSH Batman is cool and all, but what's up with the rectangular glove fins? I thought they were curved. Batman looks like he just sucked down 4 or 5 lemons too. The detailing is amazing, but Mattel's version is so much the "classic" version of Batman, that I'll pass on DCD's Hush line. Ivy is completely awesome though. I think the Four Horsemen sculpts on the Mattel line are just great. they may not have sculpted all of the figures in the line, but their professionalism and design sense show.
  3. I can only speak from my experiences. I first got into comics when I was about 10 yrs. old. My parents had just gotten divorced and i needed an outlet. My mom's first boyfriend brought my brother and I a huge stack of 1960's DC Comics with 12 cent cover prices. I think comics should be left as an escape from our real world. DC Comics has its own world and mythology that Lex Luthor can the cities are fictional. In Marvel-land, every hero in the world lives in New York. If that's the case, how come all the criminals are still there? You'd think crime would be virtually nonexistent. This shows that most of the heroes are ineffectual, to say the least. Mind you I love the Avengers, Ultimates, and Iron Man, but I've always thought comics were an escape. Oh and for a weakness, try Iron Man. Just say,"Boo!" and he'll have a heart attack. Maybe just send him a bottle of Jim Beam for his birtday, and he'll pass out. DC Comics were the progenitors of all the rest. Marvel has a nice "human" side to some of their characters. But DC invented the super-hero genre, and deserves to be given the respect it's due. Just my little 'ol opinion.
  4. That is just uncalled for. But there are trolls everywhere. What can one do but call a troll exterminator.
  5. The main reason for this is the fact that they're targeting kids with these toys. Mind you, I'v been to the Four Horsemen's site, and they value collector input, but Mattel wants profit. Profit means kids wanting Rainbow Ninja Fiesta Batman with Rocket Launching Parrot. I think they'll keep the collectors happy with the "standard" versions of the main characters. There probably won't be mass market supportung cast characters, but we'll get more villains.
  6. Valid arguments all. I like to see different people's takes on classic icons. Of all the movie Batmobiles, I liked the one in Batman Forever the best. This new Batmobile is extreme, but the detailing is a veritable work of art. I don't display it with the spoiler/glider because it hurts the lines of the design. I agree that the Super Powers Batmobile was an awesome car, but I think this newer one, albeit a different era and style, beats the Super Powers model hands down as a work of art. I still own my Super Powers Batmobile, I bought it when I was a teenager.
  7. As far as we know, the only villains to know that Batman is Bruce, are Ras Al Ghul and Hugo Strange. This might seem like one of Ras's schemes, but I think this might be the delusional mind of Hugo Strange. It would't have been hard to figure out that Jason Todd was robin at one point. Jason wa s adopted bty Bruce and suddenly died at a young age. Hugo could have used this information and actually found a Lazarus pit. Thereby restoring Jason and "raising" him for years. i haven't read any of the storyline yet, but i will read the collected story when it's released.
  8. Thanks for the welcome!
  9. I just received my Mattel batmobile from Amazon.com. I wasn't originally going to purchase it, but the article and pictures at American dream really sold me on it. It is very reminiscient of the later movie Batmobiles. I also agree that maybe they should have put windshields or maybe twin bubbles over the seats. That's probably my only complaint. I am an avid toy collector, and this Batmobile and the current Batman figures are going to give me one heck of a display! The car is huge and the little features, the bike, glider wings, and great sculpting make for a top-notch toy.
  10. I ordered mine from Amazon.com as well. I have the space to display it, so i can't wait for it to arrive this week. PJ great review BTW.., and JayC the pics helped as well.
  11. I'll definitely pick up the full story in TPB when it's out. I wonder if Jason Todd may have had a brother or something. Either that, or it's something to throw us all off track.
  12. I just ordered the Batmobile from Amazon, they only wanted $17.99! @PB#
