  1. As a Superman fan and an X-Men fan I have to re-state that Superman would not win. I don't understand how dcfansb#1 can call himself a real Superman fan when he does not seem to understand that the ultra powerful Superman he worships ceased to exist after the Crisis saga. That guy is gone! And Superman stories are a heck of lot better off for it.
  2. Because the consecquences of killing Gladiator or Superman would be far to heavy duty. I could defeat Mike Tyson in a boxing ring if I was to throw a hand grenade at him. The comeback though would be just to much e.g. dead ref and fans. same goes for Phoenix Blink out the Sun and Superman is defeated but the earth would be destroyed as well. The fact remains though that she could do it if she wanted to.
  3. Supes would have no chance. The first thing that Phoenix would do is get rid of the sun. That would take care of Superman in one second.
  4. truly awful. This is like the 12" rotocast spider-man from the first spider movie. Why put it in that pose it makes it a moveable statue not a toy?
  5. The vision was around in the 60's I don't think Red Tornado turned up until the 70's, correct me if I am wrong on that. His heyday was during the mid eighties though.
  6. Can someone post a good pic of this guys art work so we can actually make a judgement?
  7. I think it has already been said and said well, the collecting for profit game is over. You can still make a profit in collecting but it means searching flea markets and garage sales etc for toys in good condition that came out before '85. Only pick things that are collectible already though. The modern way of making money is buying and selling stuff quickly. This of course is known as scalping (and it is evil). Variants and chase figures can make big moeny but only if you pay retail for them, just look at maskless Wolverine, its still worth around $100 but not the $500 they were going for a year ago.
  8. Nightwing is one of my top 5 all time heroes. I do think DC are less a fan of him than DC's readers though. Although he lacks Batmans physical bulk I think he is his equal skill wise. Bats is a better detective but but Nightwing is a better acrobat and leader of teams. Over all they are pretty equel, with Batman perhaps having the slight over all edge.
  9. I for one am glad it has been given another season. Enterprise diefinately had a poor start from the lousy theme tune to the slow scripts and run of the mill stories used in the first series etc. That though is now in the past. the series is at last starting to gel together and fingers crossed will from now on show what a worthy edition to the star trek universe it can be.
  10. Its a bit more complicated than that. Firstly the mask thing. If Supes wants to be heard by someone eg by comunicater when in space, he needs to be in an atmosphere. Remember the tag line from Alien : 'In space no one can hear you scream' Well its true! to speak his sound waves need a way to travel to the cominicating device. I am not up in recent Supes stuff, but he always used to be able to hold his breath for as long as he needed to when in space. I don't remember any limits being mentioned. Supes is effectively a solar powered hero. Any non red sun will power him up to the max. Red sun's do not do anything for him at all though, so in a red sun area he will have no powers. My info is based on stories from over ten years ago so forgive me if things have changed since then.
  11. Well the 'old' Aquaman would have been whipped badly by Namor. But in the last 10 years or so DC have revamped Aquaman to such a level that he can certainly prove a close match for Namor. When I was a kid for instance Aquaman had a bit of extra muscle power, something on the level of Captain America. Now I hear he can bench press about 50 tons. That coupled with his new super hand makes him a match for just about anyone. Hving said that its a big jump from lifting 50 tons to Namors 85 tons, so Namor wins the day for me but only just
  12. It must be hard for younger fans to appreciate that several generations of comic readers grew up with Hal Jordan as GL and to them, Kyle will always be second best. The parralax stuff was a bad idea from start to finish. DC has no real need to re-brand or exchange older heroes for younger ones. The majority of comic readers now are only a few years away from having Hal's white hair above the ears themselves. All DC needed to do was tell good stories, not butcher the DC universe in the hope of making a few new pre-teen readers.
  13. I like having a Robin around. I just think the suit Batman provides him with is irresponsible. How come Bats gets an armoured head covering mask and poor old Robin gets a domino mask? I think an armoured suit similar to the one used in the films would be more appropriate with a full Batman type mask. Other thatn that iagree with many of the above comments.
  14. So his elbows are going to be fixed in this one use only position then? Is it just to obvious to suggest a hinge joint instead!
  15. I thought that the Enterprise screw ups were deliberate, so as to give future generations something to fix (as has been said) I my book that is spot with wht should be happening. This is the series when the Humans make there enemies (and friends).
  16. I keeps on changing. It started with him able to lift a few tons, peaked in the late 70's with him able to crack a diamond planet in half and now seems to have dipped to a bit stronger than the Hulk. Usually his strength is at its peak in his own comic and at its lowest when he is in a team comic like the JLA. In other words its all down to the creative team who are writing him at the time.
  17. Not many liked the disco version even when it first came out. All of the versions after that have had something to offer though.
  18. Now Dick VS Tim would be interesting. Dick would win on combat but Tim can out detect Dick. So a mix of chalenges both physical and mental would be interesting.
  19. I no longer care, this line is dead as far as I am concerned. My standards can only drop so far, the only figure in series four that held my interest (Bruce Wayne) looks dreadful. I am switching over to the Hush line. In the UK the price difference is not that much anyway.
  20. uh... no... I don't... Christine Chaple? Yeoman Janice Rand! http://www.sixtiescity.com/startrek/LOST/rand.htm
  21. A lot of posters on AA's own site have mentioned this. I do wonder if a color change may occur mid run because of all the complaints.
  22. Thanks Kool-aid. Turns out my PC has a virus, thats why I couldn't see your pic.
  23. Well the articualtion sucks, but I have to say most of the modern figs are good looking and very well made. ideal in fact for young kids to bash them about! I just wish they had ball jointed hips! The playsets I have seen look superb as well, nothing else compares to them in 1:12 scale as far as I can see.
  24. Thanks for the help Koolaid. I have been out and about looking for figures And hve so far got hold of these guys:- I have also purchased a Hall of pain playset and some accessories from ebay. By the way what ever is on that link of yours to the Magneto pic, shut my PC down three times in a row. So it has not as yet been looked at.
  25. I have to be honest and say I am not a fan of wrestling, but I have recently been switched on the high quality of some of the playsets available, and the cool looking action figures that available in street gear. The thing is I want to buy some figures to go with my marvel Legends to use as civilians, business men and thugs. My problem is on ebay auctions and wrestling figure reviews, the height of these guys is not often mentioned. What figures and ranges do you recommend I look towards buying, and that will fit best into 6" scale?
