  1. Speaking as someone who has been on the toy forums for longer than most. I can assure you all that these sites are indeed a shadow of what they were a few years ago. I remember the total meltdowns that all the big toys sites suffered at this time of year and you would not believe the amount of posting that used to go on in the top two or three forums. It genuinly was exciting to be an action figure nut a few years ago. I am not saying that things are bad now but the market has now matured and settled down and fewer truly new things are happening. Marvel Legends was was in my opinion as big a deal as you can get for a non cartoon led product. I would go so far as to say that in years to come people will talk them the same way they did 12" GI Joe's back in the 60's and Mego Dolls in the 70's. Each were loved lasted for a long while then were replaced by something else. At the moment we are in the period where Legends and Legend type figures are coasting before they will like all things before them fall out of favour. I hope to enjoy the ride well it lasts but I do recognise that the glory days are now behind us.
  2. I think after a very rocky start hasbro may be on the turn around with Marvel Legends. I can't help but feel for a few people this has come to late though. i have no doubt though that the cancelation of LCBH will help the situation from Hasbro's point of view at least.
  3. If Hasbaro do decide to make Gi Joe's in the same style and size of Marvel Legends then I will buy them. As it stands I have never bought a single Joe figure in my entire life. I would assume that I am not on my own here and would guess that Hasbro (if this story is true) wants to pick up as many of us new potential Joe collectors as possible and going the 6" way is the easiest route for them.
  4. Amazon.com is your best bet because they sell at discount prices and they do free delivery if you buy several books at a time
  5. The lousy artwork put me off this title for years. I eventually got around to borrowing the trades off a friend and found the plots quite enjoyable. The characters should not have been part of the 616 universe though. As for a box set, now that this title is long dead I see no point at all in having one.
  6. What Jay and the other toy site bods need to do is convert the form into a file that we can all fill in and send off to Hasbro! My suggestions would be to keep things largely as they are for the time being but add a collectors club with exclusives that make sense i.e. no neon characters but figures that use the same or new heads with existing sculpts for the bodies (to keep prices and effort to a minimum) but all new paint jobs i.e Captain America repainted as U.S Agent or Nick Fury for Gabe Jones. Introduce at least one army builder figure to each Marvel Legends series ie Hydra agents A.I.M agents or Skrulls etc. Basically give us what we have always had but more of it!
  7. No way can I pick one the best I can do is two. Night Hawk Black knight
  8. It would be easy to replicate a combat style (new invaders) cap by dying some old pale coloured combat trousers blue. Suede gardening gloves would probably dye red fairly easily and they would make OK looking gauntlets. As for the top I would be inclined to buy a blue T-Shirt glue a fabric star on to it, cut it off around the middle so that it looked kind of like a girls crop top and then wear a long sleeved white T-Shirt underneath it. You could then add on the red stripes to the white T-Shirt and sow both garments together so they did not billow apart when you moved in them (If they were a snug fit that would not even be needed).
  9. Until we get Hercules, Black Knight, Photon, Quicksilver, Tigra & Jack of Hearts we don't have anything like a full roster of members.
  10. Why these? I read house of M and those characaters still mean next to nothing to me.
  11. He took many of those pics with his mobile phone inside his local Wal-Mart. He did explain that in an earlier post!
  12. Check out his latest batch of pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://photobucket.com/albums/b209/firesprite121984/
  13. I just finished reading that thread and realized the guy said he had it too. I'm a bit skeptical though. If he wanted to prove that he has them in hand, why don't he take a picture of the figures and the back of the cards. Plus the guy says all he has is a camera phone but doesn't know how to download the rest of the pics when he already downloaded it to a photobucket account. I'm a bit iffy on it. I was a bit iffy at first to, but if you look at the images closely so much work would have had to go into these figures and backgrounds that to have faked them would be more effort than it is worth especially as the 'real' thing will be seen in a couple of days. A-F are going with this as GENUINE and they would know wouldn't they?
  14. Hope over to A-F before these get taken down! http://www.banned/index.php?nam...p=385382#385382 More pics here; http://photobucket.com/albums/b209/firesprite121984/
  15. I can fully understand why we will have to wait a while to see these images (we know how this mag likes to complain) but can we at least have DETAILED descriptions of each of the figures featured in the magazine?
  16. I'm ashamed to say but those idiot proof things some times pass me buy. Last week I bought an exercise machine for my partner. When building it for her I managed to strip the threads forcing the right peddle into the left peddles receiver hole. I just kept on forcing it in inspite of the difference in threading. :-(
  17. JackZero, what the heck are you on about? If any one wants a Phoenix they can subscribe and get them or ask a newsagent to get one for them. this guy is just enjoying a hobby and no one elses expense your argument is totally invalid. These figures are not chase or variant figures they are fairly easy to get hold of.
  18. Any one got any pics of this 26" Thing? I have never even heard of it!
  19. What is wrong with some of you people? Why don't you read the long post on page one that actually EXPLAINS what is going to happen before you start crying about something that will not be affected at all. Sheesh!
  20. I'm pretty sure there is. It came out a year or so ago. Why not check out Marvels web page and search thru' the SMC series pics they have?
  21. I was expecting more. Seriousely though I am going to show my partner these pics. It will make her realise that my collection is really quite small.
  22. Those Disney versions are what the Hasbro ones should have been like. They would havea flown of the shelves this Christmas as it is even Kink Kong figures (another let down) sold better than the Hasbro let downs. One of my local Toy stores was virtually cleared out of everything this year apart from the Narnia rubbish. I suspect this line has been a total failure.
  23. I feel so let down by this series that the colour of a pin hardly even registeres with me. This line was I thought supposed to be the DC version of Marvel Legends and they could'nt even be bothered to ball joint the neck or thighs. What do they add instead? The ball jointed waist that was abandoned by Toy Biz for being useless a couple of years ago!
  24. yeah, it would have been nice to have characters that were actually known for having vehicles.. but it was just the name of the series.. it didn't mean anything. However, they should have just went without the theme name form series 11... no need to invent crazy vehicles for characters that have never used them.. Wonderman has his flying belt, so the hover scooter thing is dumb... Ironman and Ultron have neither ever ridden a Goblin Glider... Thing just sucks all over Scarlet Witch's ride was weird too Taskmaster might ride something like that I guess, maybe he stole it from Hawkeye. Vengeance and Logan are the only appropriate ones with their motorcycles. a newly sculpted Captain America would have been cool.. they need to replace the ML1 figure and they could have given him his motorcycle too. It did seem odd that characters that are at least to some extent associated with vehicles ie Captain America had a bike for a while as has the Punisher and PC or not prof X and Alistair Smythe both had hover chairs. They could have even done an invisible woman with a segment of the fantastic car. All those options made sense Ultron, Iron Man and Wondermans vehicles made no sense at all.
