  1. I posted something about this before - it's the rubber/plastic/compound that they use now for capes/vests etc. - along with temperature/moisture changes (due to where you store them) that causes the rubber to do that. Much like a tire innertube or a balloon. I believe it is why the new DCUC characters blister packaging has "vents" on the sides - so the rubber can air out properly. I discovered this scenario on my Huntress and my Doomsday pack Bizarro - so I had to open them to clean off the "powder" - no big deal for me but I can see this ruining a lot of MOC non-openers. BTW I've also seen a few figures on store shelves with the same problem.
  2. I never saw Grodd once - and I would have gladly paid full price!
  3. You should grab it due to it's massive level of awesomeness. Grab it immediately.
  4. Yeah, I like Lois but I am not following the story - so I doubt I'll get her. The rest - no thanks. Also, isn't it All Star Batman and Robin? So, ummm, yeah...where's Robin?
  5. Someone on another board was asking who this silver Transformer is and I have no idea. I only know about the sort-of similar Dead End that came with Unicron. Does anyone know who this guy is and where he came from (what set etc?) Thanks!
  6. What is the deal with the spam anyways?
  7. It's the capes. I had my JLU Huntress MOC, and my JLU Bizarro left in the package (from the Doomsday six pack) both in my basement - I looked at them the other day and the capes had white residue (sort of powdery dusty) on them like an old balloon. So I opened them and wiped them down and thankfully they are fine. So I believe these holes are to prevent the rubber in the capes from doing that same sort of thing. Capes nowadays seem to be made of a very pliable balloonlike rubber, unlike the stiff hard plastic capes of a few years back.
  8. I have had no problem with multi poses on my figs and I also thing they beat the ML ball joints by miles.
  9. It honestly doesn't bother me too much. As long as they throw in the variations like Demon, Clayface, Penguin etc when the character's build is vastly different.
  10. OMFG @ the Goon fig! Holee Macarel that thing is awesome! Those clown masks are so creepy! And here's hoping And yes, those movie master figs are in scale with the DCUC figures.
  11. Holee shnikeys! It never even showed up at my local Target!
  12. If they continue to make modern/classic variations I hope they stick with the "Classic as standard release" formula. It is DCU Classics after all, not DCU Moderns Only time will tell
  13. Who can blame them, it isn't like intergalactic bounty hunters are popular *coughcough BOBA FETT coughcough* or anything. The more I think about it - the more I feel the character is a two-bit 90s has-been and only a geeky fanboy (like myself) would care if they saw him or not. So Mattel drums up the "you can't have him" schtick so we all get antsy ... then they make him a Convention exclusive. I bet he's a 2009 Comic Con exclusive.
  14. I agree - we need a classic Robin for sure. The series is called DCU Classics so I too hope that remains their focus. I need me some classics. The "Modern" guys are cool and I will get them too, but if I missed out on one b/c it was a variant I would live. I too wish I had gotten more - I did get a couple of them and don't feel like I need all of them so I don't have too much backtracking to do. DCUC Series 2 can't come soon enough.
  15. ...but they put him on Superman and JLU cartoons. So no worries if a kid sees him in a cartoon, goes and finds his comic, and a parent gets pissed lol. The excuses make NO sense, and are likely based on $ on some level, as is everything.
  16. So could Michael Keaton and Christopher Reeve be on the horizon? How about a George Reeves in grey tones. And finally - Adam West and Burt Ward. COME ON MATTEL! DO IT!!!!!!!
  17. I have the latest Captain America from ML lined up with my DCUC stuff now and he fits right in. I'll try to get some pics up later.
  18. @loll@ I agree - DCUC has me excited about action figures like never before!
  19. I don't think it's dumb since both Nightwing and Robin, two people who constantly battle Deathstroke, are in this wave as well. I know what you mean though. We can't have one killer, but get another instead. Deathstroke also supposedly has sex with underage girls, like terra. I don't think Lobo has done that in comics. I think Deathstorke can be made because he is a bad guy. Lobo is an anti-hero and because of that, Mattel or Time Warner probably thinks that kids may get the wrong ideal of a superhero doing bad things/ I know the Lobo issue has been beaten to death and that we can all talk it in circles until we're blue in the face but...they gave us Etrigan, a Demon from Hell (often times on the side of the heroes - more often than Lobo as far as my memory/experience recalls.) in the very first wave. A Demon. From Hell. It even says so on the package. The implications alone would lend one to believe a Demon from Hell would have to do some pretty nasty stuff on a daily basis. Anyone ever read Dante's Inferno? Imagine a parent in a Bible belt state, or Utah, or somewhere like that, picking that one up off the shelf and reading the packaging. Some folks can be pretty touchy about that type of thing. That said, I think the Lobo issues (excuses) are pretty lame. Maybe they released Etrigan as a pre-emptive test. If they can get that guy made without a loud public outcry, Lobo should be a cinch.
