  1. Why am I the biggest DC fan? I have a few pictures to point you in the right direction: But it would be unfair of me to not point out the following picture, too:
  2. So I emailed Matty with a simple question: "What options can I take with my Zod who had a very small chip on his nose?" Partially out of impatience and partially out of realizing it was barely noticeable and I can just be obsessive with things like that, I decided to open him up anyway. Next thing I know, another one is on the way to my house and says it is completely free. Has anyone dealt with Matty before on this? Am I going to get a new one with a box to send the old back or am I just getting a free fig?
  3. I was upset to see that I wasn't able to immediately spend my Christmas money on Bigbadtoystore.com's GL Classics Wave 1, but found a set online for $99 including Priority Mail shipping. Not bad. May be a tad bit less than retail if you figure I'm not paying tax.
  4. From a post on RTM, so take it with a big grain of salt, but this is the rumor for the 'rest' of 2011. I for one am ok with this. In fact, I am really ok with this if it ends up being true. I'm assuming that the Flash in Wave 19 is more than likely Jay Garrik and that the Firestorm and Superman from Wave 20, if true, would end up being Black Lanterns. Plus I can take a bit of a break in Wave 17 and 18 with no interest in the BAF and a majority of the characters.
  5. Truthfully, I could see why having themed Waves could be bad from a business standpoint, but from a fans perspective I am all for it. Wave 16 for instance. I would love to have a Bane figure, but am not really psyched about picking up the Creeper or a Jonah Hex. As a Batman fan it would be easier to sell the BAF if those two were replaced by a new Scarecrow, Freeze, Hugo Strange, Commissioner Gordon, etc. I love Batman so a wave with all of Batman in it and a BAF Bane would be an instant buy. As a GL fan and a Blackest Night fan, Wave 17 is an absolute dream come true. I'm not kissing Mattels feet when I buy it, I'm genuinely excited that they went with the figures of this wave. And if Super Friends is Wave 18, great! I have no interest in Super Friends or a BAF Indian dude (Yup I said Indian dude cuz I cannot remember his name off the top of my head) so I won't buy it. As I said earlier, from a business standpoint they do things like the BAF and non themed waves so that I will pick up a Creeper or a Kamandi (Ultra Humanite's not enough to pick that guy up). For all of you who saw Wave 17, didn't want it, and said, "Great! I'll save some money!" I'm right with you. I'd rather feel that way than have a box full of Obsidians to complete a BAF I have nominal interest in. LOL...hey Obsidian is cool man...lol, seriously though you didn't like his outfit, I think that is what really makes him. Hey, nothing wrong with Obsidian. He's just not on my list of buys. Really know nothing about the character. Looks cool, though.

  7. What's the average price on a Hot Toys figure and where is the best place to buy them. I've been tempted to take the plunge for a little while and seeing there upcoming line up (Indiana Jones, 89 Batman, and Metal Gear Solid in particular) is making it hard to resist.
  8. Just to be clear, your definition of classic is what I was trying to point out in my post. I am right there with you on this Wave. I'm glad that for once I want every figure even without the BAF. The Anti-Monitor is just sweet, sweet icing on the cake. I guess this wave will be easy to find for us few that are excited for it.
  9. The pic of the feet is to show how they can be angled. Also looking at the Reeve figure the problem or the thing that holds him back is the eyes, the hair, the nose, and the mouth are perfect. Tomorrow, my friend. Tomorrow Superman will kneel before Zod.
  10. You know, that would have been an excellent idea instead of yet another Hal: a white Sinestro with a variant correct height Sinestro Corp version. Even I would have preferred a White Lantern Sinestro instead of Hal. Again, that was a 'classic' moment in the story line. I guess my point of view is different from the majority because I'm relatively new to comic collecting. Teams like the Doom Patrol, the Forever Men, and, for a time, the Metal Men were easy skips for me. If it wasn't for my guilty pleasure of watching Batman TBATB I wouldn't have a clue to most of the 'classic' universe. So for me, this wave is a breath of fresh air in that it is something that is made available right when I want it. With that said, the coolness of this toy line is that it has pushed me to learn more about the DC Universe. Sometimes that BAF has made me buy a few figures I wouldn't really want, but after further research I've grown to appreciate them.
  11. Should get mine tomorrow by 5 or 6PM. Can't wait. Here are some clues for Mattel Now that is an awesome Clark. Yes, Matty, take note! Meanwhile, UPS got me out of bed this morning with my Supes and Zod. I sent Superman away with my wife to be wrapped and put under the tree. A little gift from me to me to carry on the tradition my Dad started a long time ago. I did break out Zod, though, to tide me over. I'll let him threaten Metropolis while everyone screams, "Where's Superman?" Why he's in a box under the tree! I can say from Zod alone that everyone who says they look better in person is right. I don't know why these things don't photograph well, but Zod's figure has an incredible likeness. I was peeved to see that there is a small dot on his nose where the paint was chipped, though. Oh yes, Zod is quite amazing. I don't have my Superman yet....later today......but I agree the pics of Zod didn't do him justice and I really hope the Superman turns out that way. I am sorry to hear about the paint chip on his nose that is a big bummer. It is funny that these are available on MC yet people are bidding on these online at the same prices??? Also a ton of people preordered these at BBTS for 90.00 bucks while even today they are still available. Now that does not make any sense at all. I guess some people WANT to pay more.
  12. I'm with you Shokker. I opened up the link to Wave 17 on the main page and went, "Awesome!" I immediately wanted these in DCUC the moment I saw them revealed in Blackest Night. It was such a great moment in the comics. Then I came on the boards and found nothing, but disdain. Surely there are more GL fans that are excited about this. Sorry to all of you who don't want them, but I'll pick them up the moment I see them. And, no offense, but even the extremely liked waves clog the pegs. It's the nature of DCUC. We cry foul when a new wave is super hard to find and then later we cry foul when they are everywhere and keeping us from find the newer waves.

  14. I would pass on a Super Friends wave, too.
  15. I'll agree to disagree on this one, but it may have something to do with a great love for Green Lantern. I don't collect DCD so having these figs in my collection, especially in DCUC scale, is awesome. I do understand that they could have released these in the GLC line and makes much more since, but I'm not going to complain. This is the first full wave in a while that I actually want all of. Wave 16 came close, but I have no interest in Creeper and only a little in Jonah Hex.
  16. Gosh I cannot wait for mine to arrive. Got my shipping notice last night around midnight. This sucker will be at my house w/ Zod on Thursday and under the tree on Saturday. It will take massive willpower to hand it off to my wife to wrap it rather than just going ahead and opening it.
  17. Super excited for you! I'm going to check the email right now and see if my Christmas miracle is a go. Though, with the PKE in transit one can argue that Superman or no, it's on.
  18. Just fantasizing here, but do you think a Clark Kent accessory pack could ever be possible for Matty's Superman figure. I keep seeing the Hot Toys Returns Clark Kent/Superman 2 in 1 figure and wishing they did something like it. They had some HT Clark Kent duds on ebay from the pack. Are they in a similar scale?
  19. congrats man. Yes, I am very happy. With no shipping confirmation I know they won't be here before Christmas but just happy to have them. I think it has something to do with Mastercard and when the payment is truly confirmed in the system. Don't give up hope, too quickly. The PKE's started shipping yesterday and with standard shipping are set to arrive by Tuesday. If it ships out by tomorrow there could still be a chance of making it before Friday of next week. But I am on the east coast in Philadelphia, so it takes us longer to get items. You are probably in central or mountain time. Oh I'm over in the wonderful east coast state of North Carolina. I'm actually impressed at the PKE shipping. I literally went from thinking it would take a miracle to arrive on next Friday to, geez, it's going to be here Tuesday. So who knows when Supes and Zod could arrive.

  21. Picked up one of Zod and Superman. This was a surprisingly easy venture onto Mattycollector.com. Logged on at about 12:20 and was done by 12:30. Also surprised to see ol' Buzzy still available. I want him bad, but shipping and tax on the other order made it not so. Now here's hoping they get here before Christmas so my wife can wrap them up and put them under the tree.
  22. Personally, I can't wait for Wednesday so I can order Supes and Zod (finally). The crystal accessories that come with him look awesome. Forgot that SDCC showed off the kryptonite chain, but don't remember seeing that in some of the first looks. Is that still an accessory?
  23. Finally found a Gold. Funny enough, when I went to check out she scanned it and it came up $7 and some change. I didn't do a price match or anything. This happen to anyone else?
  24. Here's some love for Matty's Superman. I rarely collect 12" figs so Hot Toys, though awesome, have not gotten a dime of my money. However, as a huge GB fan and Superman fan, I am more than happy to pick there 12" line up. It's at a price I can afford and judging from how much I enjoy the GB figs, I know I'll love Superman.
  25. Some would argue that most ALL Walmarts are not so hot.
