  1. I ended up opening the Egon up because it looked like the the mark on the hair may come off. Luckily, when I took him out and rubbed it a bit, it came right off. My wife still calls him Ray Stantz, though.
  2. These figures are now in stock for $16.99 a pop at Entertainment Earth.
  3. Thanks a lot! I'm just fortunate to have kept a lot of my Ghostbusters figures from my childhood. I did have to reinvest in an Extreme Ghostbusters Ecto, though. Have no idea where it went to. Why is it bigger/cheaper or what? If you are referring to the Extreme GB Ecto, it's just a lot cooler than the old Kenner Ectos. For instance it has lights and sounds. With a press of the button the siren sounds the the roof lights go off. Size wise it's not much different.
  4. Ok, so it is no new news that I really like the Retro Action Real Ghostbusters. Despite the hate people have that these have come and not action figures, I am super happy to place these in my GB collection. That being said, I am very upset with the lack of quality control with these things. Here's Egon # 1: Missing anything, friend. How about a GB patch. Since this was a wonderful gift from my mother I chose to keep this one MOC as I wanted a MOC figure anyways. Here is Egon # 2 that I just got in the mail. Notice anything about him?: Yup! He's not Ray Stantz. This part does not bother me since the plan was to open him anyways. However, this does bother me: Trust me, it the dark scratch on his beautiful (and impossible) hair style is even worse in person. My real Ray has a scratch on his hair and Peter has a bit of paint bleed from his hair and Winston...well Winston looks terrific actually. QC issues and Matty is not new, but some of these Retro Busters ones are dooseys (don't know how to spell that word). From those of you who have these, what has been your experience?
  5. I wish I had the money to do both MOC and loose. As it stands, I am no stranger to playing with my action figures so I keep them loose. I will say that the proton stream looks much more impressive loose. I'm all for this Venkman, but I have noticed that with him and unslimed Egon there have been a few more paint errors than I'm accustomed to. For instance, Peter had some red marks next to his no ghost patch.

  7. I found this picture of him from the comics. He's a relatively newer character:
  8. Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but I found this at Superherohype.com. It's G'hu, the preview figure with Wave 2 GL Classics:
  9. Awe, the memories of opening my PKE. Enjoy the heck outa that thing!
  10. I can relate to that. If it was not for the Spidey and Supes costume I wouldn't know what a gym looked like. I have a deal with my wife that if I can get back in shape a Green Lantern suit is in my future.
  11. Not yet, but it did inspire the wife and I to plan a fan film. I got a video camera for Christmas and have been playing around with it. We've discussed doing a short parody of Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures using Ghostbusters characters. The PKE is perfect for one scene and so now it looks like it may actually happen. I'll give you guys updates on it.
  12. Interesting enough, the original designs of the proton pack had only two circles on the cyclotron. You can actually see it if you watch the pilot episode. That's why the old Kenner figures and Kenner roleplay proton pack only have two. The PKE meter that comes with Retro Egon is also based off the pilot episode and roleplay toys. Now even with that explanation I couldn't tell you why Mattel decided to use those designs rather than the ones of the actual cartoon (w/ three circles), but they did.
  13. Haven't made their transition yet from the living room to the 'office.' When I first get something I usually stash them on a table next to my favorite chair so that I can admire them. Plus, I'm waiting on another Retro Egon to come in the mail so that I can open him.
  14. I know we had a post a while back where we were sharing our old collections. I thought it'd be fun, since we have so many new figures, to post our Ghostbusters figure set-ups. I'll start: My messy desk...
  15. Why am I the biggest DC fan? I have a few pictures to point you in the right direction: But it would be unfair of me to not point out the following picture, too:
  16. Ray Stantz's uniform is switched out with Citizen Ghost Peter's. Looks a bit more show accurate.
  17. Just wanted to share one more picture on the subject. Notice anything different? http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs774.ash1/166491_841271667893_22205753_44529392_1659995_n.jpg Gosh! That Egon just wants to be opened.
  18. So I emailed Matty with a simple question: "What options can I take with my Zod who had a very small chip on his nose?" Partially out of impatience and partially out of realizing it was barely noticeable and I can just be obsessive with things like that, I decided to open him up anyway. Next thing I know, another one is on the way to my house and says it is completely free. Has anyone dealt with Matty before on this? Am I going to get a new one with a box to send the old back or am I just getting a free fig?
  19. Buy it! Why not? I have no choice being Club Ecto and all, but I'm all for this figure. I'm also go gaga for Ghostbusters!
  20. I was upset to see that I wasn't able to immediately spend my Christmas money on Bigbadtoystore.com's GL Classics Wave 1, but found a set online for $99 including Priority Mail shipping. Not bad. May be a tad bit less than retail if you figure I'm not paying tax.
  21. From a post on RTM, so take it with a big grain of salt, but this is the rumor for the 'rest' of 2011. I for one am ok with this. In fact, I am really ok with this if it ends up being true. I'm assuming that the Flash in Wave 19 is more than likely Jay Garrik and that the Firestorm and Superman from Wave 20, if true, would end up being Black Lanterns. Plus I can take a bit of a break in Wave 17 and 18 with no interest in the BAF and a majority of the characters.
  22. Truthfully, I could see why having themed Waves could be bad from a business standpoint, but from a fans perspective I am all for it. Wave 16 for instance. I would love to have a Bane figure, but am not really psyched about picking up the Creeper or a Jonah Hex. As a Batman fan it would be easier to sell the BAF if those two were replaced by a new Scarecrow, Freeze, Hugo Strange, Commissioner Gordon, etc. I love Batman so a wave with all of Batman in it and a BAF Bane would be an instant buy. As a GL fan and a Blackest Night fan, Wave 17 is an absolute dream come true. I'm not kissing Mattels feet when I buy it, I'm genuinely excited that they went with the figures of this wave. And if Super Friends is Wave 18, great! I have no interest in Super Friends or a BAF Indian dude (Yup I said Indian dude cuz I cannot remember his name off the top of my head) so I won't buy it. As I said earlier, from a business standpoint they do things like the BAF and non themed waves so that I will pick up a Creeper or a Kamandi (Ultra Humanite's not enough to pick that guy up). For all of you who saw Wave 17, didn't want it, and said, "Great! I'll save some money!" I'm right with you. I'd rather feel that way than have a box full of Obsidians to complete a BAF I have nominal interest in. LOL...hey Obsidian is cool man...lol, seriously though you didn't like his outfit, I think that is what really makes him. Hey, nothing wrong with Obsidian. He's just not on my list of buys. Really know nothing about the character. Looks cool, though.

  24. The Egon in the picture is missing his No Ghost symbol on the right arm so I plan on leaving it in until I find another one. I wanted one of these suckers MOC anyway. Kinda bummed, though cuz I know my mom went out of her way on Ebay to get these (especially Egon) and one of them has an erro. She doesn't know, though.
  25. All of a sudden Christmas feels like it did in the late 80's. Just wanted to share a pic of some of the gifts I found under the tree: Next year will be focused on the new baby. A Ghostbusters jumpsuit onesie perhaps?
