  1. I preordered all five and got an extra Faker, too. I've really slowed down over the years with MOTUC, but every now and then the urge hits, and these were way too cool to pass up.

I'm torn with what to do with these. My preference is usually to open my figures, but I also have the 8-back characters and a few favorites MOC. These will feature resealable packaging, which is really neat, so that gives me options.

  2. I don't have much insight but I absolutely agree with you. Very frustrating. My (possibly expensive) suggestion would be to track down multiples of the same figure and piece together one that's not yellowed. Maybe they'll yellow anyway eventually, but if a 30 year-old figure has parts that haven't yellowed yet, it seems you have better odds of it not happening at all.

  3. I agree with you, Rockzilla. Unfortunately the US has turned pro-monopoly over the last decade or two, and this will probably happen anyway. And it's always hidden under the guise of "better for the consumer" because of promises to not raise rates for a year or some other amount of ridiculousness. The further we go in the opposite direction, the harder it is to come back. But as you say, competition keeps prices in check. That's always been the case. I'm glad this failed.

  4. I honestly like the guy, and its somehow fitting that the big screen's first Aquaman is a Baywatch alum, I just hope they don't dye his hair.

You want him with brown hair?

I want it to look natural, which is what I suspect you mean/want, so brown is okay since Mamoa has brown hair, but I think a dye-job would be okay. Not full on Hulk Hogan blonde, but something lighter than what he normally sports maybe.

Either way I like this pick. He could be really good.

  5. This is a decent looking figure. Sinestro from this line is, too. But Superman looks like junk. And Batman is better looking than Superman but still not great. Mattel really hurt themselves there. If you want people to buy into a line, you gotta deliver with your big guns out of the gate. What if the DCUC Batman from Wave 1 had been garbage instead of a total homerun?

I'm not entirely against this line. It's a nice change-up after DCUC. I like the stylization. But they gotta step it up a little. With no additional paint opps to improve the appearance, they really have to nail the sculpts. And so far, I'm disappointed. That Superman figure looks as bad as the Brave and the Bold Superman or that Supes that was made for that generic Batman line. Pretty much inexcusable.

  6. Well, eight figures (assuming the first and second wave at least are guaranteed) is a pretty good start. Depending on the character selection, you could have a fairly "complete" animated Batman collection in two waves (though I don't know if they'll put so many big guns into the first two waves), so I could see two waves alone being worth the price.

This line has so much potential it's scary...

The first wave will be Batman, Mr. Freeze, and Two-Face from The New Batman Adventures and Catwoman from Batman: The Animated series. The second wave will do the opposite by having three from B:TAS and one from TNBA.

    That explains it. Thanks, mate.

  7. I'd definitely want a TAS Robin. I agree they're gonna spread out the heavy hitters, but then again most of The Animated Series characters are heavy hitters (like Batman's entire Rogue's Gallery). You think we'll get a Commissioner Gordon?

I'd love to see a Phantasm, too. With TAS Batman and TAS Robin, Phantasm might be my most wanted. I had the Phantasm (still do actually) from the original line, but it was so obviously female, it was a little underwhelming, so I'd like one that fits what the Phantasm looked like in Mask Of The Phantasm (which made you think it was a big, intimidating guy in the costume).

  8. These are all really impressive. I'm glad you've shared them here with us because I haven't known just what can be done with 3D printing. The idea of 3D printing seems like something out of a sci-fi novel that the characters here could all be a part of. :) But clearly it's a reality.
