  1. Does that really surprise you? Superman and Batman are going to sell on name. It doesn't really matter if one of the movies is really bad (.....Batman and Robin.....) because the name is still there. It's more of a gamble with Wonder Woman and Flash. I suppose the reason the studio keeps vetoing scripts for these things is because it doesn't appeal to the masses enough. Remember the hollywood philosophy - Sacrifice details that would please your niche audience in order to appeal to a multiple types of people groups.
  2. Just wondering if any of you MOTU mini statue collectors (and openers, obviously) have any issues with any of your statues - my Clamp Champ in particular - leaning on their base.
  3. Nice, man. No need to worry about the ring on the helmet. I always thought it made him look like a Christmas ornament, anyway.
  4. madman has a point, Bear. They should have just made MP-05 a real gun. That would have solved everything. ....it probably would have also led to a large amount of jokes surrounding the idea that you "never tick off a bunch of fans at a Transformers convention, or you'll get it Megatron style."
  5. HAHAAHA!!!!! Ohhhh man....... This movie is so going to suck! @loll@ All that is left now is to put Greedo in it and make sure he shoots first.
  6. Perhaps I could register for a gun license and then go that route.
  7. Shazam! and a happy Valentines Day to all, I suppose.
  8. You know, MUNDO - I gotta say....With all the complaining our MOTU group here has done in the past about Mattel's handling of the MOTU line, you made me reflect on 4H for a second there. Regardless of if we get that sword or not, I would say that they have done a heck of a good job with their interpretation and redesign of the characters we know from Masters of the Universe.
  9. I'd like to see them do Marlena - she would probably be a con exclusive.
  10. HAHA! Articulated hair. Awesome. Hey - if she doesn't have articulated hair, we can start a phone campaign to Hasbro. On April 1st, all of us can call and complain about lack of hair articulation. Honestly, I haven't really looked closely at all the figure pictures yet - I guess I am still in awe - but after looking at that picture of Scarlett again - DANG! The long hair makes the figure even better, in my opinion. Interesting though, that they elected to cover up the long hair by posing her arm like that. Coincidence? Would they try to hide it on purpose? If so, then I imagine they would have tucked it behind her back for the photo if it were articulated. Then again - it is Hasbro. We're talking about a company that releases promo pictures of Transformers that are improperly transformed...

    Be Honest

I've kept the major G.I. Joe figures I have on display for quite some time now. They're outnumbered by Transformers, but they are definitely in the display case.
  13. Heh. Always something fun, but as I always say.... Apples to Oranges, people. Apples to Oranges. (Thanks for the link, Last Son of Krypton)
  14. Catalogs were great! But - with the internet, we have a place like ADC...errr...TNI to get everyone together to talk about it all! New era. Different ways to have fun.
  15. I'm gonna quote a line that was drilled into me back when I was in college & studying film - "The camera always lies." These pictures, while more simplistic in regard to that quote, still apply. We could pick apart each and every one of these figures, but the fact remains that we only have one promo shot of each figure. Some characteristics may be more pronounced due to the shot. Other characteristics of these figures may be altered before the official production versions are released.
  16. With the way all of us are talking about this line, we should have *TNI* exclusives. Haha! Gung Ho looks great. This is really a fun line to follow, indeed. Great to see the G.I. Joe & heck - entire toy community jumping on board with this line. I think Hasbro has a winner here. #US1# #US1# #US1#
  17. One common & fearful term in the world of toys that has recently crept up into my mind - "Completest."
  18. Maybe we need to start recompiling a "yet to be made" list. I've kinda lost track. Good to hear that we are approaching Wave 6 for this line. I feel like this is a pretty big milestone considering the direction the action figures went. Of course, we have started to see characters appear in the mini statue waves that were already made into action figures. So anything goes, really.
  19. The magic 8-ball says, "I foresee you spending a large sum of money in the future."
  20. I am definitely a part of that group of individuals that believes over-articulation does indeed exist. I posted as much in the DC forum when addressing some of the new figures and expressed the hope they (DC w/ Mattel) don't go the direction of Marvel Legends in regard to articulation. This was mostly based on the fact the females don't really look a lot like females. (Topic: http://forums.toynewsi.com/index.php?showtopic=2029800 ) All that said, this Joe line has me raising my eyebrows in interest....at least, so far.... we'll see what Scarlett looks like in person.
  21. Hey guys. Jumping on board here. Well it is fun to get to see so much discussion in the Joe Forum. I have been checking out the pics of each release so far & am liking what I have seen after just these three pictures so far. It is really hard to truly judge whether or not I like something based on one promo pose for the figure. There are so many future stages of the release cycle that allow for a better observation to be made of a product. You have pictures of the promo figure, the in package figure, the first picture of the "mass distribution figure" and then finally the multiple, out of package pictures of the mass distribution picture. Also note that Hasbro tends to mis-transform their Transformers all the time, so the secretary may very well take all the pictures. As for the newest figure - Scarlett - While the waist articulation looks a bit odd, I can't help but think the pose and the angle of the picture contribute to the bit of oddness. Gotta see it in person. I'm on the side of the fence that thinks the face sculpt looks great, actually. I wish they could give us higher res pictures, too. But hey - it's fun watching them be released each day.
  22. Wow. Paint scheme look great. If his face were just a little meaner.... Still - I'm all over this.
  23. Definately can't say that as there has been quite a few TFs that are REALLY good toys. Cybertron Hotshot, Cybertron Optimus Prime, Armada Unicron, etc. The list goes on. Heh. Well - I am not a fan of the current style of Transformers toys. It's probably more or less the current team of designers at Hasbro. Who knows. So I had to throw that out there.
  24. FYI you can flash custom firmware on your PSP and play and PSX game that you own. Not really something that Sony likes, but it's totally doable. You'll have to use your original game discs to make a compatible ISO that you can dump on your PSP.
  25. How about every Transformer in the main toy lines made during and after the year 2000?
