  1. Yeah, because fans would rather have a mountain of Destros than Vipers when they're done Iron Grenadier army-building.
  2. For some reason I like the idea of Red Star, but not his figure's head. Looks too old, and--like some people have pointed out--like John Wayne. Plus, when I was shaving his arms to free up more articulation I forgot to take his head off and accidentally shaved off part of his nose. Anyone have any suggestions for a new Red Star head, one far younger and more power--uh, Russian?
  3. Is there a way to switch the non-articulated legs on CW Obi-Wan with the legs of one of the super-articulated Clones? It's my only gripe about the figure.
  4. Quick question--do his fist holes allow him to hold other Classics series weapons, like Jetfire and Prime's guns? That wrist-mounted blaster is cool, but he needs more to be real menacing.
  5. Well yeah, I don't mean I want my Autobots to be smiling all the time, but look at Classics Jetfire. He looks more determined than Prowl.
  6. Anyone else notice something about the new Classics figures' faces? Some of them look...kind of sad, like they don't want to be there. Prowl and Sideswipe in particular. I don't know if it's the angle of the eyes, or the forehead is set too low, or the corners of the mouth are turned down a tad in the wrong direction, but they all look slightly depressed. It's the only real thing that's stopping me from picking these guys up.
  7. Has it been said the comic pack Grenadier and the three-pack (red) Grenadier are identical?
  8. A little paint on the officer, none as far as I can see on the trooper. @can@ Cool. Just as long the Comic and three-pack Grenadiers don't clash. Isn't the three-pack going to be cheaper, also? Better for troop building?
  9. I'd rather see black-and-gold Storm Shadow than figures with stupid weapons and accessories like a vast majority of Batman figures.
  10. So what's the difference between the comic pack Grenadier and the three-pack Grenadier?
  11. Behold, my perfect Indiana Jones figure! At first I was just going to take the head from Crystal Skull Indy and put it on Raiders Indy, but the neck joint on Raiders was almost nonexistent, so I opted to switch belts instead. The belt, I found out, was actually attached to the back of Raiders Indy's torso, so I had to snip it off carefully. Then I had to pull the belts off both figures, which took a little work since I didn't want the belts to bust while I was doing so. Thankfully that didn't happen, and now I have and Indiana with: - Removable fedora - Curled/extended bull whip - Revolver w/ working holster - Satchel
  12. After a good hour of searching through my local Wal-Mart's entire stock of Indy figures, I found a Crystal Skull Indy with great paint apps and really like the figure. I'm still tempted to buy the Raiders Indy and do a body-swap, since I don't think the working holster is too big and I want a curled bull whip.
  13. I can see how it can be annoying. As a Transformers collector, it is a little annoying to see multiple Optimus Primes and Bumblebees, but at the same time, I know they're the big sellers. As a Power Rangers fan, it's a little annoying to see the Red Ranger get all the best power-ups and numerous releases. Still though, I'm aware he'll sell better than the second-in-command and the female Ranger (mid-season "sixth" Ranger character notwithstanding). Not sure if it was in Hasbro's mission statement, but this line will undoubtedly draw in long-time collectors and new fans, so they have to take that into consideration. Releasing multiples of staple characters is a good way to keep newbies coming back for more. Ignoring the older collectors would be a horrible mistake, which is why they update other older characters, but not to the extent of the top-sellers because they probably know fans of the old cartoon will buy, almost regardless. So yes, when looking it at it from a different take on the same point of view, I can understand how it can become irritating, but it's a necessary evil in the business world. "Give 'em what they want" and so forth. You didn't actually answer my question. I didn't? Sorry, I thought I had. I can see how it would piss off older fans wanting more variety and updates on older characters, but it doesn't bother me. But like I said, there's no one I'm all "OMG WHEN IZ HAZBRO GONNA RELESE THIS GAI?!!!!1111eleven" about.

  15. I'll agree with you on Bludd's lack of articulation, but I was referring to his head sculpt. I hear some fans say he "doesn't look right," but since I have no pre-existing idea of who Major Bludd is, I can't say "Yeah, that's wrong." I guess that was the point of my original question, "Do older fans get annoyed when a figure comes out that doesn't live up to their expectations (Bludd) or they feel has been done to death (Snake Eyes) and newer fans can't see where the gripes are coming from?"
  16. The new Major Bludd figure is causing major fan uproar because he "disappoints." He's not "like this" or they should have done "that instead." Reading all these posts makes me feel like anyone who wants to call themselves a G. I. Joe fan has to hate this figure. But I don't. I just plain don't care. I don't know who Bludd is, why he's so popular or why fans are spitting at Hasbro for "dropping the ball." This brings me to my question--do older fans feel annoyed at younger fans who don't get riled up at the same things they do, and who think Snake Eyes is "OMG TEH BEST JOE EVAR!!!!11eleven?" Or do they just write them off as "n00bs?" Me personally, I like Snake Eyes because he's the only original Joe figure I distinctly remember owning ('course by the time I came along, the "new" Snake Eyes was the blue ski gear one with the neon orange weapons). I dislike that to some, that makes me seem like a Snake Eyes fanboy, but the toys are all I really care about; I barely remember any of the cartoon and never read a comic. I'm just a fan of well-articulated figures that can carry their weapons in holsters and sheathes on their bodies. Plus, I like characters with face masks or helmets because it's easier to mess up face detail at that small scale. Snake Eyes just happens to have all those things. I know the series has a huge following and has lots of history and I respect that, but it's not that important to me.
  17. Yesterday I was passing through a Kay Bee store and they had marked down Fellowship/Two Towers figures to $5. While looking through the racks, I came across two FOTR Legolas. "Cool," I thought, until I looked at them closer. One of them had a huge circular "scar" that ran from the bottom of his right eye all the way down to his chin. (production error, no doubt.) The other one--well, the other one had a problem that stood out a bit more. Legolas' right hand (the one reaching back to grab an arrow) was just like his left hand. Yes, you read right. He had two left hands. Seeing as how some people collect toys with mistakes like this, should I have bought it? Or am I a fool for leaving it there?
  18. I actually like SD Gundam Force, especially the "ZakoZako Hour." "That doesn't say 'Zakos,' it says 'Tacos!'" "How about pancakes?" "I like pizza."
  19. I heard somewhere that this movie is based on a manga title or something. True?
  20. No kidding; new stuff around here is hard to find. The newest figures I've seen are Secret Ceremony Anakin, Flying R2-D2, and Throne Room Vader. Still no Aayla Secura, though. I have seen the lightsabers in the new packaging (vertical hanging boxes instead of horizontal ones); those are cool. But other than that, nothing new.
  21. Thanks. I've only seen two Legolas figures so far--the "Fellowship" and the Helm's Deep versions--but the first one was in a collectable store and they were asking, like, $25 for it, and the second one I saw at my local Wal-Mart, but the next time I went he was gone. All that's left there are Frodos and Gollums. As far as the different version of him go, I like the Rohan Armor one best, so I'll have to track that one down. I haven't seen any of those multi-packs that were mentioned, but I'll keep an eye out.
  22. I've been a toy collector for years, but just recently have I taken an interest in The Lord of the Rings saga. My girlfriend convinced (read: forced!) me to watch both "The Fellowship of the Rings" and "The Two Towers," and now I'm glad she did. There were two characters in particular that I liked--Legolas and Sauron--and I was wondering if new figures of those two characters would be coming out with the final movie. Since I'm pretty much coming in late in the game, I figure (no pun intended) that trying to find a Legolas from "Fellowship" or "Two Towers" would be hard or somewhat costly (although I REALLY want the armored Legolas from "Two Towers;" I've always loved figures with lots of weapons that they could store in sheaths or holsters and stuff like that.). And as far as Sauron goes, I haven't seen or heard anything about a figure of him. Anyway, what would be the best course of action I should take if I wanted to track down an elven archer and Dark Lord of my own?
  23. Please, PLEASE let them do a good job on Morrigan! Of course, based on the prototypes, I'm sure they won't dissapoint. One thing, though--I hope they don't put lipstick on her. If you notice she never wears any makeup in any of the games (it's a natural beauty kind of thing), but nearly every Morrigan figure I've seen has her with red lips. Most likely these figures will be at someplace like Electronics Boutique or Suncoast, right? And when should they hit shelves, late this year or early next?
  24. Personally, I like the idea of re-packaged figures; a lot of the figures, like Han, Leia, 3PO and Luke I never saw during their first release, so hopefully I'll be able to track them down this time. Highly doubt I'll see any of them until September or so; the Wal-Mart in my hometown has pretty much removed Star Wars completely from the toy aisle, and the one in my girlfriend's hometown only has two Saga Destroyer Droids, three Taun We, and a POTJ Sabé. That's it.
  25. Just look on the main page for the news. Yes! We will be getting a new Morrigan figure! And if I read correctly, two of her (action doll and action figure!)!
